It is a bakery for dogs but they also have tons of other stuff, including dog beds, toys, accessories, adorable outfits, and really anything you can think of for your furry friends! They even have a patio space in the back that you can rent out for doggy birthday parties! We came in the morning and they were still putting out fresh baked treats into the display! There were so many delicious options it was hard to choose. The gentleman behind the counter explained how they were sorted and what our pup might like based on density and crunchiness. How have I not known about this place? It's a legit bakery and also a cute pet shop! Baked goods are displayed neatly in the case and are arranged from softest to crunchiest in terms of texture. In the bakery display case, there are a bunch of cookies and cakes for you to choose from so we got them a little pink berry cake. We also picked up some chow chow cheddar stars, assorted woofers, and scooped up some mini blueberry dog bones for my dogs. The person behind the counter was really friendly and packaged everything really nicely. I ordered a cake for my dog's birthday more than 2 weeks ahead of time. At the date I was expecting the delivery, UPS couldn't track the cake. I called the bakery for info, they said they "tried calling me" yesterday saying that the cake couldn't be delivered on the expected date, and I looked at my phone log, there wasn't any call and/or voicemail that came through from their number. What a disappointment. I requested a refund because that's the only option that makes sense to me but they couldn't even give me a date when I can expect an email that the refund is being processed. What??? You're quick to take orders and payment but when you can't deliver your service, you can't even give a timeline of when your customer can expect a simple email that their refund is being processed??? The moment I walked into this place, my sense of smell heightened! It smelled like a mix of butter, eggs, and other yummy goodness one would smell in a bakery, except this is a dog bakery! My hubby kept commenting on how everything looked and smelled good enough for him to eat. That's how I knew this bakery takes care in using the most high-quality ingredients for their treats, baked goods and cakes. The store also has a lot of others dog products, such as toys, clothing, collars, beds, food/water bowls and other items, but I couldn't tear away from the bakery section. All the prepackaged goods were in clear, cellophane bags with fancy ribbon and the display cases showcased the baked goods and cakes. The two people behind the counter were friendly and cordial, but came off as a bit shy. They didn't volunteer any info to us on what is good and popular with other customers nor mentioned any special items available. They were responsive and knowledgeable to the questions we asked though. We ended up getting a couple bags of prepackaged baked goods, a cookie for a friend of our pup's (which they personalized with her name) and a baked dental chew for our pup. I love dog bakeries! I immediately searched for one in San Francisco as I was planning my route for my day trip with my two dogs. We parked a couple of blocks away in a metered spot and were on a time crunch to get back to the car before the meter ran out but it was quick and easy to pick out a treat. She wanted to pick it up on Sunday but was told, "they were closed for an event" but judging by the other reviews it looks like Le Marcel Bakery opens and closes when they please which is a bad business practice. She was told to pick up the cake on Saturday before 4 pm even though business hours say they close at 7 pm on Saturday. When we came home, Mommy and Daddy were super excited to cut my birthday cake for me. However, they made me wear this stupid birthday hat and pose for pictures first. I wasn't having any of it so I paw'd off my hat and ran underneath the bed. I could hear Mommy dropping f-bombs in the kitchen when she was trying to slice my cake. She was telling Daddy that there were cracks in the icing and that the cake looked old. There were more f-bombs as she wasn't able to slice a piece.
