I called to see if my dog can get groomed the day of and the worker was so nice and was able to squeeze me in! The groomer Lei was so nice and accommodating to my dog. She seemed very gentle and nice to my dog which I really appreciated because my dog can get a little anxious with grooming. The place was fully stocked with high quality cat food brands and treats (many of which I hadn't heard of). Also lots of cute toys.  We weren't looking for anything in particular but was told that if there was something and they don't have it, they could probably order it in. Ocean paws is such a cute Pet Store Boutique on Ocean Ave! There's a hidden doggie playground in the back for your dog to socialize or get trained. They even have a pet spa and grooming service. I checked out their everyday dry foods and it looks good! Their doggie birthday cake looks especially yummy that I'd even eat it. Haha. I got some dried chicken and salmon snacks for Koda and he loved it! It's seems like a great one stop shop and there's even social hours for dogs! They all look so happy to be playing in the back. Angelica has groomed our family dog 3 times now and she's been very consistent. To be more, she's consistent with time, cut and professionalism. Her appointments have not been delayed and time quoted has been spot on. Though our dog isn't difficult she can be nervous and move around a lot. She's shown patients and figured out how to handle the situation. Overall Skye looks good as labradoodle aren't easy to groom. I love take my doggy Ziggy to Ocean Paws! The owner and store associates here love pets and you can really tell by the warm service they provide here! They have EVERYTHING you would want in a pet store - fun toys, yummy treats (I got Ziggy peanut butter gelato), and cute clothes! They also have a backyard where dogs can have fun and join one of their hosted socials! I also took Ziggy here for grooming and he came back a clean, happy boy! Such a great addition to the hood! My boy Malo loves coming here. He pulls me to the store when we are near. His favorite is the chicken heart treats! He likes all the treats there really, but chicken hearts are his THING. We swing by for play time in their back yard often! We get his ears cleaned here, groomer is super cool and can handle my pup. This is purely from shopping here! I was on Ocean to run a few errands & had to replace my dog's nite lite tag. Sadly they don't have the rechargeable one, but I did a twist on/ off o e that is battery operated. Service here is great as they treat each client like a professional shopping assistant. The shop is clean and organized. What makes this shop so special are the DEALS!!! I was able to get 13oz wet dog food cans at just $.99 each at the register! Also a bag of smart bones twists for $5.99! This sure beats Amazon & Walmart.com !!! I can't comment on pet hotel nor grooming since I didn't get those services here yet. I do hope they offer more rechargeable devices because of eco friendly clients like myself. I will return for the deals & the wonderful staff. If you own a pet, please come here & support them because the staff take deep pride in their work & the prices are even better when on sale. My pup didn't seem traumatized, so I know they were gentle with him. I managed to pick up some unique treats out AND schedule an affordable teeth cleaning for my pup. brought two dogs in for grooming. One dog not good. Told them that and they sold me small bag of CBD cookies for $36. No problem. I told them I wanted short - they said shaved - no just very short. I picked them up and thought they looked ok. Didn't bend down to take closer look at legs and paws because they were losing their mind and wouldn't stop barking. thought I was doing them a favor by taking them out of shop quickly. When I got home I saw that legs and paws still very long. Thought I would trim myself but then I thought I paid $100k/dog and I should have them do it. Owner said I needed to say something when I first saw them. I know he remembered what that was like but he wouldn't budge. If anyone wants to get their dog groomed I would say go to the Pawber Shop a few blocks away. I would have gone but they were booked solid and I was leaving town. This place had lots of openings. Love Ocean Paws! The store owner and staff are always welcoming! The store has cute decor with a wide variety of treats, food, toys, and pet supplies. Came here to get my pup groomed a few times now and have been pleased every time! He's a Maltese-mix so he usually gets dirty fast and has eye stains but they're able to remove it. He comes back smelling nice, very bright, and extra fluffy! My pup really enjoys the cheddar & bacon froyo from here and still loves his Teepee so much! We have yet to come to the puppy socials! This is a good little pet store that you'll find on Ocean. The building itself is a piece of art, with high ceilings. They have good selection. I have a cat and she likes only a certain wet food, they had it with a discount. There is also chubby Golden lab named Lorax who wanders around the store bringing joy. He's a good boy. The discounts are not amazing, and even though it's in a great building, finding parking in that area can be challenging. But if you're walking down Ocean Ave and you need pet supplies this would be a convenient stop. read more

My hound and I love Ocean Paws. Their staff is friendly and helpful and it's been great having somewhere in the neighborhood where we can get food, toys, treats, supplies, etc. I love that they have a nice space for dogs to play. My fur baby just had an operation and somehow due to the confusion and stress , I misplaced her tooth brush . I was looking all over for one and I ended up passing by this store. The store clerk was so helpful and unfortunately we were not able to find one that my baby likes. I bought a treat and I was on my way out to search more. The owner called me over and ask me to wait. He went to the back , came back and handed me the same exact toothbrush that I was looking for. I was so happy because I was really looking for that exact one. He also said I could just have it. I really hope I could leave 0 star or even negative. Everyone should really reconsider if you are planning to take your pet to this place. The owner was awful and no customer service at all!!! I took my dog to have his nail trimmed on Saturday and only found out 6 of the nails didn't get trimmed when I got home. This is the third time I got my dog there and the first two times were okay even they missed one or two. The groomers were nice so I let it go. But this time, I specifically asked the groomer if she covered all the nails and she said she did. One of dewclaws was really long and that's the one I wanted her to trim the most, I even told her about that but she still didn't do it. I wanted to call them back right away but they already closed and not opened on Sunday. So I waited today and asked if they could fix it. The person who answered the phone was the owner and he declined!!! Basically what he said was it's my fault that I didn't check at that moment when it's done, it's their store policy that I have to check and they won't provide any service after that. I BROUGHT MY DOG THERE TO GET SERVICE AND I TRUSTED YOU GUYS AND I VERIFIED WITH THE GROOMER!!! I gave trust to them and they are blaming on me not checking!!! I asked him since you guys are expert, can't you tell if the nails got trimmed or not by looking at the nails? I'm willing to bring my dog back so they can take a look. He said they could review it but I need to pay another $20 if I want they to fix it. THIS IS TOTALLY A JOKE AND UNACCEPTABLE!!! THEY DIDN'T DO THE JOB RIGHT BUT THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME AGAIN FOR THAT!!! He kept saying it's their store policy which I should have read it and dog nails grow. This is nonsense, I brought my dog for a nail trimming, not so kind of adventures to give up my life!!! Besides, how fast can dogs' nails grow in a few days or in a week. If that's the store policy, they should inform the customers to read. But no, not even when I went there the first time. Then he said oh it's behind the register, you should have seen it. EXCUSE ME, who cares about what's behind your register!!! The customer service that the owner provides is horrible. No apologies but blaming on customer and trying to get money again. Always a fun time coming into ocean paws! I absolutely love visiting with my pup because the store owner and everyone who works there always makes you feel welcomed. The conversations with the staff there are always fun, it makes us feel as if we've known the staff for some time - as if we're just visiting some friends. So glad to have found this place! I brought my two Chi-Chi mixes in for a wash, nail trim and anal glands and feel so lucky they were able to see both of them at the same time! My older girl Penny HATES having her nails trimmed and I have been a terrible mom and have been neglecting them. Alfie, my new boy has probably never had a professional grooming either!
