Leon runs the best neighborhood spot for pups of all ages to meet and have fun with one another! I brought my 4-month-old puppy Lychee there because I noticed that she kept getting really shaky and nervous whenever she saw another dog while out on walks. Leon was great about getting her accustomed to the space and did a really wonderful job the first day of letting her gradually meet friendly dogs one-on-one in her own little spot before mixing her with the group. Now when we're on walks instead of running away from the other dogs she keeps trying to get us to walk towards them! She has gotten so much more comfortable and better socialized. She also loves Leon and Bonnie and runs into their arms without really paying me any mind when I go to drop her off. I also really appreciate how they take the time to tell me how she did and who she played with. Leon even sends me photos on my phone because I don't have Instagram. If you're a new pup parent like me, I'd strongly recommend checking out Paws Pet N' Play! It's been a great way for me to get a bunch of stuff done for a couple of hours and rest assured knowing that my puppy is having a blast. read more

This place keeps a star for flexible drop off options--that's what made us choose this place (other than the good reviews). Unfortunately, on our dog's first day at doggie daycare, he suffered an injury to his leg that causes him to limp. Staff stated they had no idea what happened to him, so I can only assume they leave the dogs to watch themselves. Now our 1 year old otherwise healthy dog needs surgery and we have no idea what happened. This is why you sign a waiver, I suppose. So, we paid $23 for two hours of doggie daycare and now we're out thousands. read more

Almost brought my pup here yesterday, was walking up to the door on mission street, the windows were open and I could hear the worker screaming at the dogs every time they barked. And sounded like he was slamming a crate shut each time he screamed. Could also see in the basement because the window was open, just a crate and a food and water bowl and a very lonely pup. This review is for 11/8/22 evaluation, 11/9/22 overnight, pick up 11/10/22. My fur baby Jax is 5 month Boggle (Beagle Boxer w Amstaf, pit in him). I had a big event at work and needed to find a place that will take him in in short notice. After searching and reading reviews we decided to schedule an evaluation. this place is located between San Jose Ave and Mission street at the Top of the Hill in Daly City. Street parking. We walked in and was greeted with a friendly face. The owner provided us with all the info, took Jax for 2 hours to meet and make friends. After 2 hours, Jax seemed to have enjoyed himself ndr didn't want to leave. They sent me pics to let me know what wasn't on and that helped. We got home and he was tired. We decided to bring him back for an overnight stay. 11/9/22 drop off - was easy. I wasn't worried and what gave me peace is that Jax seemed eager to go in and start his day. Picked him up at 540pm and he didn't seem to want to go home. Aside from the overnight, I opted to purchase the wash too which is half off w an overnight stay. We are definitely going to purchase the package so Jax can go back. This is great socializing time and it builds confidence. Price is pretty reasonable and the place looks clean. This is such a neighborhood gem. We got an older puppy in the middle of the pandemic and we were really wanting to get him in a doggy day care so he could play and socialize with some dog friends, even though us humans are not allowed to (yes I am jealous of my dog's social life). The team at Paws Pet n' Play were very welcoming and helped schedule my pups meet and great right away. There is hand sanitizer and everyone is wearing masks when interacting with customers. The facility is large with beautiful windows that let in a ton of natural light. The dogs always look like they are having an amazing time. The owners are very attentive and make sure that the pups are all getting along, staying hydrated, and taking breaks if the get over stimulated (which is so helpful for our pup who just can't stop playing). I appreciate greatly how they provide me with updates on how the dogs are doing via Instagram and at the end of the day when I go pick the pup up. My dog now can't live without this place, he is happiest when there with his friends. He is a better puppy because of Paws Pet n' Play. read more

**Review is for daycare and facility only** I'll preface by saying this day care may be the perfect situation for someone else and their dog, however my puppy is in need of a place with more structure. I really wanted to love Paws Pet N' Play and use them as my main daycare because the location, prices and pick up/drop off made it extremely accessible as someone who needs regular daycare. The staff was very friendly and flexible. Pros: -Great customer service/accommodating staff- They refunded me when I was charged the wrong amount, and were open to taking my 7 month pom puppy to the back for some quiet time since she needs puppy naps throughout the day -Flexible- they don't require reservations and can provide pick up/drop off for a fee. -No reservations/great hours- you have the freedom to drop your pup off for a few hours or the whole day if you want -Affordable -Meet and greet to make sure your dog has decent temperament and gets along with the others -Great action shots posted on instagram of your pup Cons: -Questionable cleanliness- it smells bad all the time. Despite the built-in drainage system and all windows being open, I was told they only wash the artificial grass down 4x a week. Inhaling that much ammonia from that many dogs urinating all day can be a health hazard for both the staff and pets. Residual urine = constant moisture = mold probably? Also my dog came home smelling + feeling gross. They offer baths, but that drives up cost real fast. -No structure to day care other than them feeding lunch and dinner. Dogs are allowed to do as they please from 7am to 6pm -No reservations - 60-70+ dogs are allowed to be in the facility at one time and that can be over stimulating for both big/small dogs. Granted they do a trial first with your pups, but with that many dogs on site, things can go south fast. I believe they had mentioned maybe up to 4 people are supervising at a time? -No cots/beds - they told me the dogs will just lay on the ground up against the fence when they're tired -The dogs are constantly barking with little to no correction. For my pup, this was one of the deal breakers because I didn't want her to regress and develop a bad barking habit. Also, I saw that someone named Leon had a dog psychology cert, however I don't know if this person is actually on site working with the dogs. I'd never seen or met them. With that said, this place has a lot of potential and I hope they're open for some improvements, but for now my pup will have to attend some place with a little more control. read more

Let me say up front that had I reviewed this place a year ago, I would've given it five stars hands down. Leon, who used to own this establishment was fantastic. We've been bringing our dog here frequently since adopting him two years ago. Since selling the business recently, it's been going downhill. The main reason I trusted leaving my dog there initially was because the owner Leon has a degree in dog psychology. There are no webcams at this daycare and I'm fine with that knowing that there's a dog expert around. The new owner does not have any such degree, and he doesn't know nearly as much about dogs. He's also been raising the prices significantly lately. For the whole two year period that I was bringing my dog there, it cost 35-40$ per day with an additional $10 if you'd like your dog to get a bath. I found it very reasonable. I went recently and paid $50 to bring my dog for a single day. I asked about him getting a bath afterwards, and they told me it would be an additional $35 to get my dog a bath (my dog is 15 lbs and I bring my own shampoo). Basically, quality has been declining while prices have been increasing. It's unfortunate, but it looks like I'm going to have to find him a new daycare. read more

I love the fact that they keep their IG stories up to date so you can keep an eye on how your furry family member is doing through their stay. He watches the dogs and you can genuinely see how he cares for my pup. If you ever have any issues or want any pictures of your pup, he's there. We've got a 14 year old doggo who still has lots of energy. When we go on vacay she gets separation anxiety so we tried to find a place that was cage free that allowed her to play the whole time - and this is the place! I got my corgi pup Momo in April 2020, right after COVID hit. In the first few months, I grew more and more worried that she wouldn't be socialized well enough in that critical time period, since we couldn't really meet other dogs. She was so terrified of other dogs that when I carried her into Paws Pet N' Play for our meet-and-greet at 4 months of age, she peed on my arm as she heard the other dogs playing! But Leon is a pro - he gave Momo her own section of the play space, let her explore at her own pace, and one by one brought in other small, well-mannered dogs to begin getting her comfortable. After that short 2 hour session, Momo was never scared of another dog again! I ended up taking Momo here at least once a week, and over time she developed into an incredibly well behaved, respectful pup around other dogs. She couldn't contain her excitement every time we walked through the door (but luckily no more pee!). Leon always gave updates if he noticed anything off with her, and the Instagram photos were always a joy to see. And best of all, after each session I picked up a dog that fell asleep the moment we got home. One of the worst aspects of moving away from the Daly City area was having to say goodbye to Paws Pet N' Play - I know Momo already misses her friends, and the peace of mind I felt leaving her there will be hard for another doggie daycare to match. read more

After filling out the paperwork, we were rushed to leave because our dog "acts differently" when the owners are away. Knowing that the owner has a husky himself, you would think that he would be able to take better care of my dog. I got a tour only after I had been persistent in asking for one. My pup apparently got into a fight with another dog the day he got dropped off and I was only notified about this after I asked how he was doing the next day. He had a deep puncture wound on his arm. Leon cleaned up the wound, but still concerning that I didn't find out until after I had asked. It's been a week since I boarded my 1 year old Siberian Husky for two days at Paws Pet n Play. I instantly felt something was off during pick up. Originally, I thought he was just exhausted from all the play time so I monitored his behavior for a few days but it's been the same after an entire week has passed. Since boarding, his energy has been low and he became more skittish. I have other small dogs living in the same household and he's always gotten along with them. They play everyday but now, he behaves differently and doesn't even want to play with one of them or even make eye contact. I am grateful for Leon to accept my pup last minute, because not alot of doggy day cares take in unneutered dogs, but I have been worried in his change of behavior and will be taking him to the vet to get checked out soon. I see a lot of potential in this place, but unfortunately because of this event it will most likely be our first and last visit. read more

I'm so happy this daycare open in my neighborhood its so close and convenient (it's open 7 days a week!) My husky has been coming here since it open, and he loves Leon and Bonnie. He starts going in circles in backseat of the car as soon I start approaching the daycare, and he literally runs inside, and runs to Leon. (An obvious sign how much he likes Leon). Just boarded my 12 year old dog, Chase, at Paws Pet N' Play for the first time over the holiday weekend and had a great experience. When we initially visited to do the meet and greet, Leon, the owner, showed us around the facility. It was very clean and neat, and didn't have a strong odor you find at other facilities. Chase is a small dog and there was a designated area for him to play all day with other small dogs (as well as another separate area for large dogs). While the dogs are crate free during their stay, the facility does have different spaces, rooms for different purposes, such as a "sleep" room that is away from the windows/street noise and is darker, if the dogs are more comfortable there. Leon provided updates and pictures throughout the weekend, which gave me a lot of comfort that Chase was being taken care of and doing well. He was also very accommodating with our schedule and answering questions and making sure we were comfortable with boarding Chase. The location is easy to get to. There is no specific parking lot, but there is plenty of street and/or cheap metered parking very close by. While Paws Pet N'Play is relatively new, I would definitely recommend boarding your dog here. We will definitely board Chase here in the future whenever we need to. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Paws Pet N' Play. My partner and I visited several local daycares for our dog when we noticed Paws right down the street. It has changed our dogs behavior dramatically for the better. The best thing for a 6month old puppy is all day playing with other dogs. He has made best friends at school that he loves! Leon and his staff take terrific care of Calvin, and treat him like their own. They always give us a full report of his entire day, which is important for helicopter parents like us. I know he loves his days there, because he races to door when we pull up each morning. I love how knowledgeable the staff is about animals. Once, Calvin got injured outside of school and the staff gave me much needed advice and offered to care for him when he got back to Paws. This is our first time taking our girl to a doggie daycare and she was a little dubious initially, mostly due to her not being well socialized with other dogs and her anxiety over being left in a strange place without her people. After a few visits she has really come out of her shell and absolutely loves going here now! She loves Leon and plays the entire time she is there. I bring home a very happy and tired dog at the end of the day. We get lots of feedback about her visits and Leon is very responsive with communication. We've also used the shuttle service, which is super convenient and appreciated, as our work hours are outside of their business hours. We highly recommend this place for dog care. Dog parks are not good, cause you just don't know if an a-hole dog with an owner that does not know any better, nor care about it to be there. A place like Paws Pet N Play is great, because it's supervised and do not allow a-hole dogs once realized. Play area comparison: - Petsmart - Roughly 10x20 = 200 sq ft. - Paws Pet N Play - They have 2 sections, 1 is 1500 sq ft, while the other is 2000 sq ft. In this case, it's true that bigger is better, for your dog to run around in. For me, unfortunately, it's the motion of the ocean that matters :) I did a meet and greet with Leon, he is very nice, professional and knows dogs. I've brought my dog here several times already and each time when I go to pick her up, she is happy and tired out, once home, she wants to rest and is very calm. This place is amazing. The owner and his team are such hardworking, genuinely nice people I just can't believe we found this and them and cross my fingers they will stay in business forever. Our dog was not an easy puppy and other doggy daycare businesses gave us such a hard time. We finally found Leon and his team and our lives got so much better. We leave our Samoyed with them without fear, both for daycare and for boarding. They understand her and her character. They let her be who she is and help guide her in the right direction. Other places gave us the feeling they will only care for dogs that are already relaxed, and will demonstrate a certain character these places had in their mind previously.
