Here is what we noticed: - When we arrived, it was a little hot, so we opted to sit indoors, not realizing that we would be sitting near the open windows by the outdoor smoking section so be aware. - The menu is quite expansive, with lots of homemade pastas and pizzas. There were a lot of other interesting dishes that we wish we could try, but we just didn't need more than a couple. - We ordered a bottle of white wine and the server brought out the wrong one (a red). Luckily, we noticed it before it was opened and he brought out something else since the one we ordered apparently wasn't available. It ended up being really good! - We ordered a dozen snails, and eventually he served us four of them, indicating that they were all out, but that we wouldn't be charged. That was too bad because they were delicious and we wish they had had more. - We ordered the Quattro Fromaggio Pizza and the Tortellini Scampi for both of us to share. They were both excellent! - Service was OK, but our server got less attentive as the place got more crowded. It took forever for us to get our check and pay at the end even though we asked a couple of times. Bottom line: La Gioconda hit the spot for our first night in Geneva. I called and asked what the price of a menu was to gauge the price range and to my surprise you could get a delicious three course meal (drinks not included) for 30 euros and if you go at lunch that would become 20 euros . Well the food is all delicious French Cuisine, what surprised me is that I ended up choosing the vegetarian menu for myself (I was actually happily surprised that I didn't notice a lack of taste or excitement in the dishes) My gf chose the traditional menu (a traditional French cuisine menu) which blew my mind in every aspect starting with tuna tartar followed by pork fillet and to finish This mouthgasm off with a kick they served us both the creme brûlée with amaretto ^^ . The Portions are very generous and very tasty! I raise my hat to the chef! If you are a hungry guy like me, you'll have a hard time feeling hungry for more at the end of this menu. With some excellent white wine (Muscat sec) we ended up spending under 100 euros for 2! I also tried their salad and the dressing was awesome. I loved the outdoor seating. The courtyard they had was very cute! It's a little far from the city center of geneva, but only about a 15 minute direct bus ride so not to bad. Service was good and all our food came out fast. Recommend this place if you're in Geneva!
