So disappointing. The café is very pretty, but the service and food quality were terrible. The chicken tasted like frozen supermarket tenders, and there was so much maple syrup on my plate that it made everything soggy. The coffee was disgusting and not even hot--I had to send it back, and they still brought me a completely different drink than what I originally ordered. There were barely any customers, yet I waited over 15 minutes just for coffee and even longer for the food. The staff seemed uncoordinated and overwhelmed despite how slow it was. For $45, this experience was absolutely not worth it. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

They serve a variety of drinks, a breakfast menu all day and lunch items with friend and efficient service staff. I had scheduled time nearby and needed breakfast before I started my day. Le Jardin was close to that location and I've always wanted to check the place out. I ordered myself a matcha latte with a mornin' burrito. I was handed a table card so they can find me easily when my order was ready. The first bite into that burrito was definitely what my stomach ordered. The wrap was nicely toasted with a beautiful crunch on that first bite. The burrito is filled with scrambled eggs, cubed potatoes, cheese and bacon. The cheese was melted exactly so. I would've liked extra, something to note for next time. it was delicious! Thank you! I didn't care too much for the matcha latte. It tasted fairly light, perhaps because of the type of milk. I was a bit disappointed that it came in a paper cup. There's nothing like an experience of food while real wares. No matter, I enjoyed the food and it was easy to take the drink to go. read more

Le Jardin Cafe looks to be a government building from just passing by. I don't recall previously seeing a coffee shop with such a substantial amount of land, certainly not around Connecticut. The inside is actually two businesses, on the left is the cafe and on the right is a boutique. The inside is so lovely and inviting, the space is well lit and bright with flowers hanging off the windows and off the chandeliers. Each table had a fresh little bunch of flowers. There was a talented young man on a guitar, entertaining the guests. Their menu features an assortment of coffee drinks and tea. For food they have, brunch, breakfast and dessert options. On this occasion we just got coffees. I got the Reese's Mocha. Others got hot chocolate. This mocha was pricey at over $8.00. When I made my order I told the barista I wanted it for "here". It took around 20 minutes for the coffee to be ready. I was let down that it arrived in a generic to go cup. This place is so elegant and it ruins the vibe a bit that they don't offer ceramic cups. The Reese's Mocha tasted just like biting into a Reese's Cup. It smelled like peanut butter and chocolate and tasted just like it too. This is a cup of cozy! Le Jardin checks all of the boxes for aesthetics, delicious food, fun seasonal drinks, and a great location! My husband and I had a nice start to our Sunday here, where we split their breakfast burrito and strawberry banana Nutella crepes. I had the snickers hot chocolate and he had the warm caramel apple cider, both of which were so good, but we also couldn't resist ordering the pumpkin spice latte because it's in a real pumpkin! It tasted as great as it looked, and they were great about pouring it in a cup for us to take home after! Friendly staff with everything arrived to the table in a timely manner. I arrived last Sunday around 10am to meet a friend for brunch. There was plenty of seating available. When you enter, you order and pay at the counter. You're given a number to place at your table, then your drink and/food order is brought to you. I ordered the Mornin' Burrito because I was a little hungrier. It was huge! At first, I thought that I'd be able to finish it, but I ended up only eating half of it, and boxing up the other half. It was filled with scrambled egg, crispy chicken, cheddar and potatoes. It comes with a shot of hot honey. The café is really pretty with lots of natural sunlight coming in. It shares a space with a boutique, but it's large, so it doesn't feel cramped. There is a public lot in the back for parking. They have all day breakfast and a lunch menu, in addition to muffins and other desserts. There is also a specialty coffee menu. Recommended! read more

This is a very cute cafe to stop by for breakfast or lunch. I recently had lunch with friends and ordered the Garden Pesto with a seasonal latte - I can't remember the name. The sandwich was really tasty, smaller than what I expected but perfectly sized considering the amount of fries served. I really enjoyed my drink, it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be which was perfect - I believe it had cookie butter flavoring and the addition of caramel popcorn made it extra fun! read more

Honestly the food was pretty good overall. We got the garden bowl, breakfast burrito and a side of fries. I did find an entire clove of garlic in my bowl which was a little off putting, but the flavors and quality of the food were above average in my opinion. The star subtractions come from 1) having to wait for nearly 30 min for our food, 2) not enough staff working to clean tables resulting at us having to sit at a dirty table, and 3) asking for no bacon sub avocado on the burrito but still being charged $2 for avocado (apparently they can't "sub" items on the register and were very unwilling to work with us to make this happen which seems ridiculous to me). read more

This restaurant which I used to love has taken a nose dive. The prices are outrageous for one thing. I ordered a Deluxe Avo Tartine and received the regular one. The owner took the order and insisted that that's what I said. She continued to argue and was then going to charge me the difference for their mistake! Ended up just taking the one we didn't order . Exceptionally poor customer service from the owner. Just so you are aware, the bill came to over$60, which by the way I wouldn't mind paying if I actually was satisfied with the order. But as the owner I would expect her to have more class than to argue with a customer. We ordered the chocolate lava cake which was actually a small cupcake with no lava. Will not return. Came here back in November for lunch. Kind of a weird experience. Cute decor in there (pictured), but they didn't seem to know their menu well. Staff was a bit strange. Food took forever to come out too and it was only two salads. I ordered a caprese salad (which isn't on the menu anymore) and coffee at the counter and then they bring it to you. Tons of cheese on the salad. Too much and not enough dressing. Had to go ask for more dressing and they never brought it. A pitcher of water was out on a counter for people to leisurely take and they weren't refilling it. No cups left over there either. Would maybe come back for a coffee but not the food. The latte was cute how it had rose petals on it. There's a jewelry store inside (different company) with clothing and candles and stuff which was fun to check out. I bought a shirt though and it had a security tag on it which they didn't remove and I had to come back and ended up returning because they didn't have a device to remove. Calling all Christmas lovers!! Located right on North Main Street in Wallingford on a cutesy little center of town, this pretty little coffee shop/ boutique exists! I met a friend for breakfast to catch up and decided to check this place out and I'm glad I did! They had some awesome coffee Christmas specials! Some of the festive drink choices included Dirty Santa, The sweetie pie, Mistletoe spritz, double shot eggnog, candy crush latte and the one I ordered The Little Deb! The little Deb was made in a glass souvenir cup of choice and topped with a little Debbie Christmas tree cake!!! This coffee was so festive and fun and was sure a delicious sweet treat and I was able to keep my cup to make my own drinks at home! For breakfast me and my friend split something savory and something sweet. We chose the "North Main" breakfast sandwich with 2 cage free eggs, bacon and sausage, Vermont cheddar, topped with a buffalo aioli and micro greens on a brioche bun. It was very flavorful! For our sweet tooth we picked the CB Belgian Waffle which was great for sharing. It came with 4 little leige waffle pieces, whipped cookie butter and was topped with the seasonal fruit of blueberries and strawberries and biscoff crumbs. It was light yet so yummy and filling. We also checked out the little attached boutique filled with jewelry and clothes and it was super cute. As we walked out, one of the employees chased me out letting me know I forgot my souvenir cup at the table! I was also so grateful for the service provided there and for them making sure I got what I paid for. Le Jardin Cafe is a wonderful cafe in Wallingford for tea, coffee, sandwiches and desserts. They had a variety of bagels, muffins, cakes, sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, and to-go options. For drinks, they are keeping it classy with American, Cappuccinos, Espresso, Teas and flavorings. I opted in a Matcha Green Tea Latte with oat milk. I did not see alternative milk options on the menu so I asked. I loved my tea because it was not sweeten... If you are a Matcha latte fan of Starbucks, you will need to add some sweetener. I had a delicious tiramisu that was layer into a cut mason jar. It was creamy and they topped it with whipped cream and cinnamon. I am a huge tea drinker and saw they had tea to bring home: Japanese Matcha, flavored Red Tea, Black Tea and Green Tea. The cafe has a large seating area and on my visit it wasn't crowded at all. It was nicely decorated with plants and the large front windows brings in beautiful natural lighting. They even have a gorgeous photo opt wall with greenery and colorful flowers. I would not be surprised if you could rent out the space for a baby shower, wedding shower or small party--it's that nice.If you are eating in, they place for meal or desserts on a branded tray to take to your table. You leave the trays on top of the trash can. I was unsure if I was supposed to leave or take the mason jar from my dessert, but I left it with the tray. Le Jardin Cafe is very eco conscious. The cups and plastic ware are eco-friendly. Pretty much, my cup was biodegradable. Also, before or after enjoying Le Jardin, poke around the boutique that is in the shared space ACHRQ Designs. The cafe is in a prime location on Main Street. There is plenty of side parking and a larger parking lot in the back. If you never been to this area of Wallingford, there are pockets of parking up and down the street. On a nice day, it's nice to walk up and down Main Street and Center Street. Love the location of this cafe. The exterior architecture is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. The interior is a large open space filled with small tables with about four chairs to a table. There are a couple of booths available if you need more space. The ceiling is adorned with small chandeliers covered in artificial plants/vines. You will find a wall with the now quintessential artificial greenery wall coupled with a neon sign. I wish they took inspiration from the exterior architecture to design the interior. This would have set the cafe up for a more unique space and set an amazing tone for patrons. I definitely would have stayed to enjoy my latte if that were the case. I also would have stayed if there was outdoor seating such as benches or small round tables for two. Okay, let's talk coffee and food. Sadly, there weren't many gluten-free options which seems silly at this point. So many people are GF including myself and there are lots of GF recipes and ready made baked goods. I ordered a delectable looking poppy seed danish for my teenage kids to share. Yes, the danish was huge so plenty to share between two. They report that it was good and a taste they never experienced before. That's always a plus for me. Trying new foods is a fun experience. I also ordered a hot pistachio latte with oat milk to go. The latte was delicious. The latte had a nice balance between the coffee and pistachio flavoring. It was rich with a dash of sweet. Loved it! Pricing is very reasonable. Stop 2 on my Wallingford cafe tour. It is 930 on Tuesday there were six people total in the place already seated with their orders, and nobody in line or waiting. They offer baked goods, sandwiches, and some hot food. The coffee options are as expected with a list of flavors to add. Seating is a bunch of tables and 3 booths. I will say if you have a slightly larger butt these are the chairs you hate. They dig into your sides. The booths were already taken. I got my usual, americano and added the cinnamon bun flavor. I also got avocado toast and a cranberry orange muffin. My americano was bitter and had no flavor. Upon going back up to ask if it was added she admitted she forgot. The avocado toast was seasoned Well. I feel like the avocado was old as I could see some parts of it were brown and I'm not sure worth the 650 paid for it as it was very thinly smeared. I took the muffin home and didn't get to try it yet. Coffee and muffin were about 7 total. They do give you a loyalty card punched for the coffee. Lastly, the two workers didn't seem to jive- gave off vibes of not liking each other/not working well as a team. Prices aren't terrible, the coffee was good once flavor was added. I enjoyed my breakfast at Le Jardin Café. I met a friend here at 9:30. We were the only ones in the place at the beginning of our visit. By the end of the visit the place was pretty crowded. I loved the quaint seating around the fireplace. Very enjoyable my breakfast was egg and cheese on a hard roll and everything was very fresh. Both made to order and delicious. Everything is fresh. Being a Tuesday afternoon, there was no line. We were helped promptly and our food was bought out to our table, even though there is a pick up area. There is a public lot for parking in back. However, I have now been sitting here for over an hour while other tables who got here after me have gotten their food, the same food I ordered, and have finished eating. Went in specifically for the seasonal pumpkin latte in an actual pumpkin and was highly disappointed. First off they didn't have any decaf espresso - so I had to settle for decaf coffee. (which would have been fine if I could of actually tasted the coffee - tasted just like milk and sugar) The service was terrible! When we arrived there was no one in line - ordered our two drinks and waited for at least 20 min for them. The cashier was extremely distracted (not sure by what) b/c we only saw 2 other people come in after us. A group sitting outside didn't get there food on time and seemed upset and kept having to ask where it was. Both my mom and I had seasonal drinks and they tasted watered down with milk and sugar with no actually coffee, not sure if the girl forgot to add it or what but it really made us not want to come back. If the drinks were great I could have over looked the service but it seems that the service here just doesn't care much about the quality they are putting out or have any sense of urgency. read more

First time here today and I quite enjoyed it. Inside is very nice and open concept. It feels luxurious and comfortable at the same time. Everyone was super kind and welcoming, answered all our questions too. We were seated and served which was interesting for a coffee spot. We tried their macarons, each one tasted fresh and delicious. They were served with strawberries and cream which was delightful. We also had an everything bagel with a very generous amount of cream cheese, definitely worth its price.
