Very tasty drink! They do have dairy free options with modification, but that's not immediately clear from the menu. The server was really helpful in customizing our drinks so that I could make sure mine was dairy free. They have some lovely tea options and everything was very well made and looked great. The inside seating though a bit small is very minimalist and classy. Would probably come back again if I was in the neighborhood.
Le Grey is a cafe located in Internation District/Chinatown in Seattle. This is where the old Ambrosia Cafe was located before it shut down. It is a pretty small cafe with a few seats, mainly dedicated to saiting and waiting for your order to be ready. It is very modern and minimalistic inside. I ordered the iced Matcha Cloudo, which ended up being $7.75 without making any changes to it. The total after tax was $8.57. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from Le Grey, but I was absolutely blown away by the drink. The green tea is very fragrant which I loved! This is one of the best matchas I have had in Seattle in a while! My sister ordered the ice Hojicha Oolong + Oat, which ended up being $7.75 as well. This is great because that means even with the oat milk it didn't add on to the cost of the drink. Her total ended up as $8.57, too. The quality of the hojicha was great as well! Happily pleased and satisfied with our drinks from Le Grey! Looking forward to trying other drinks in the future.
Tried their matcha cloudo oat milk version and it's really yummy! The salted cream is a little less thick and very good. They also have seasonal drinks and also matcha, teas, and smoothies too. Few seating area long the wall and window.
Le Grey LOOKS like a bougie coffee joint, but it's actually a bougie TEA joint. And their tea is good. Damn good. Last I was here, shared a matcha latte with oat milk with a friend, and wish I had gotten my own. It wasn't just any matcha latte, this "Matcha Cloudo" is made with a melodic jasmine green tea, and topped with sea salt cream. The jasmine is so pronounced you can't miss it. Love to see spots like this popping up, and can't wait to return. And maybe sit by the window and maybe stare blankly outside like I've got big thoughts. And sip another Matcha Cloudo. Pinch me! NOTE: Le Grey is cashless, so hopefully you've got a credit or debit card with tap-to-pay. Smartphone payments accepted too.
The seasonal green cortado is one of the most unique matcha drinks I've had in Seattle. Topped with black sesame powder and nori, the savory notes gradually infuse into the drink as you sip, making each taste a little different from the last. The matcha itself is excellent and balanced enough to stand up to the milk instead of getting lost, which isn't always the case with specialty matcha lattes. That said, I was definitely surprised by the price. Since it's a cortado, the drink is served in a very small cup, which I expected, but I still had a bit of sticker shock when the total came out to around $10. The service also felt a little off during my visit. The employee wasn't rude, but the interaction felt very scripted and a bit rushed, leaving me feeling like I needed to make a decision quickly. There isn't much seating, so it's probably not the best spot to settle in with a laptop or catch up with friends for a while. The interior, however, is beautifully designed with a clean, modern aesthetic that makes the space feel thoughtfully curated. Despite a couple of small drawbacks, I'd absolutely come back for another cortado because the drink itself was genuinely memorable.
Located in the CID with plenty of nearby street parking and accessible with public transportation. The space itself is pretty small with the ordering area being towards the back of the store and then the waiting area being towards the front. I came by when it was pretty busy and even then, the wait for the drink was very quick. Ordered the Matcha Makio with 0% sugar and they were persistent that I shouldn't order it because it was going to be too strong but after getting it, it didn't feel as strong as they were making it to be. Overall a good earthy taste and appreciated that it wasn't too milky. Would definitely come back again to try the other drinks.
I love the interior design of this place!! It is small but cozy. Drinks were pretty good!! I really liked the matcha island, the light coconut milk paired really well with the bitter matcha. Definitely wanna come back to try their guava lemonade tho!
I knew I was gonna love this place after walking by it for the first time, doing a double take because of the simple, modern aesthetic, then noting to try it after dinner, which is exactly what we did! I love Le Grey, which is now my new favorite spot for hojicha. Le Grey is a new tea shop in the Chinatown-International District neighborhood, featuring matcha and hojicha. I absolutely love hojicha, which is not all that easy to find around the area. But after learning that Le Grey has a hojicha cloud oat, I knew that was the drink I had to get. It was fantastic, with the roasted flavor that I absolutely love from hojicha and liked that the creamy, cloud oat foam on top wasn't too sweet, just adding a little oomph to the tea. I highly recommend trying if you love hojicha like yours truly. Le Grey's space isn't the largest, but has some seating inside. Despite the line, it went by fast and we didn't wait long for our order on a Friday night. Any time I'm in the CID, I'll have to visit Le Grey for my caffeine fix. So bomb.
3.5 stars Warning for future patrons: the menu has symbols indicating "dairy". The drinks in the "oats" section that don't have the "dairy" symbol still contains dairy. The salt foam is made with dairy, so any drink that has the foam has dairy. My husband and I stopped by around 2pm on a Sunday and the tiny shop had about half a dozen folks waiting for their drinks. The ambience is modern and catching, service was meh, and the menu and ordering process is a little confusing. The drinks were alright, and a little pricy; our two drinks came out to $17 before taxes. I think it's a fun treat and worth stopping by if you're in the area or have a very specific craving.
The drink was fine, but wasn't what I was expecting. This spot has gotten super popular over social media recently and amongst the many matcha spots in the area it seemed to be getting a lot of attention and love. The inside is very pretty but there really isn't a whole lot of seating and definitely is not a place to work at. I got the oat matcha cloudo which had jasmine tea and a sea salt cream top. The drink itself was fine, but it really only tasted like jasmine tea despite it defined as a matcha drink. I do like jasmine tea a lot so I didn't mind it, but again I was expecting more matcha. I have tried a bit of the hojicha oolong drink which I do think tasted more like hojicha, so maybe get that one instead.
Their menu may be small but it is mighty and done well. We got a mango kinu and it was worth every penny. Fresh, not overly sweet, and so well balanced. Also got a matcha maiko and brown sugar boba and both were excellent as well! Yes it might be a little bougie but it is worth it
Got the hojicha drink with the least amount of sugar and loved it. My friend got the matcha cloudo and no sugar (as she's really ok with unsweetened drinks) and I felt that it will be better with some levels of sweetness. The shop doesn't recommend getting no sugar and I agree. Line wasn't too long on Sunday at 2pm
Le Grey is one of those bougie tea places that makes you feel like you're in China. It definitely has higher quality tea than most, but I'm not sure if it was noticeably any different than any other international tea chain. I got the signature sweetness and thought it was way too sweet. The mitt pu'er tasted like a tiramisu latte. Very limited seating; only for waiting.
First off, the environment is super clean with really great energy. It has that kind of vibe where you actually want to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink instead of rushing out. Definitely a place you can see yourself coming back to regularly. The drinks are where they really shine. I highly recommend the Guava Lemonade (fixed ice). If you're someone who loves guava juice and lemon layered over jasmine iced tea, this will easily become one of your favorite drinks. It's refreshing, balanced, and just done right. Customer service was good, no complaints but if I'm being honest, it didn't quite match the level of the drinks and the ambiance. Nothing bad at all, just not as memorable as everything else. Finally checked out Le Gray Tea Co in Seattle and I get the hype I ordered their matcha drink and it was honestly so good, super smooth with a really light floral note that made it feel a little elevated compared to your usual matcha. Not too sweet, not bitter, just really well balanced. The space itself is cute and minimal, perfect for a quick stop or catching up with a friend. Only thing I wish? A strawberry matcha option would make this place next level Still 100% coming back to try more! read more
Pretty visuals inside with grey interior and cherry blossoms. Thankfully there was no line on the second day of their soft opening. I like how the matcha cloudo tasted strongly of jasmine tea. TLDR: Really aesthetic speciality new tea/boba spot in the ID. Came during their soft opening and really enjoyed it. Quite busy and can't wait to come back during their grand opening. Drinks: I got the matcha cloudo medium sweet (jasmine + matcha) and thought it was really good. While the main flavor was jasmine due to the cream, the matcha still came through and game some nuttiness and flavor. Service/Ambiance: While it was quite busy, the staff was really nice. As far as ambiance, the store is very modern and chic with a few places to sit while you wait for your order Misc: I originally wanted the Hojiacha Oolong but they were out of stock, they were also out my second choice which was the Misty Puer. New tea spot in International District- small spot with limited seating so it's pretty much for grab and go. I tried matcha cloudo and hojicha oolong which were recommended as the favorites. Matcha cloudo has matcha, jasmine tea and sea salt foam- soo good! I got it half sugar because they said it was on the sweet side which was perfect. Hojicha oolong was balanced as well and has a caffeine hit. I will be back to try the fruit smoothies! read more
Le Grey?! I am a big fan! I got their Mango Kinu which is their blended mango smoothie with ripe mangoes. I got it with signature sweetness and it was everything I want in a mango (coconut milk) smoothie! I didn't expect much considering it's not necessarily champagne mango season in March but it was perfectly sweet, creamy with what tasted like a coconut cream (correct me if I am wrong). Thankfully there wasn't a line on a Thursday afternoon, but the wait for the drinks did take 10-15 minutes or so. In terms of the interior vibe, it was modern, sleek, clean, and felt luxurious! I wish it was a bigger space so there is ample seating but otherwise, it's a nice place to get a drink. read more
They're in soft opening as of March 9, 2026! I've been anticipating on their opening for awhile (since last August) and glad to see them open with the matcha concept. The interior design is modern and sleek and very instagrammable. I ordered the matcha cloudo-oat, and it is very jasmine forward with a good matcha base. I think the oat milk definitely brings out the flavor and I really enjoy my drink. There are some seats along the wall & windows but it can get pretty cramped in there. I hope they implement online ordering and pick up in the future. So far, so good! read more

Le Grey is an elegant and modern shop that serves a variety of tea drinks, mainly matcha. They're located in Chinatown/ International District. I love how aesthetic and sleek the interior is. They have a couple of seats (mainly for you to sit while waiting for your order) but no tables so it's not the best place to hang with people. I loved that they had a menu section dedicated to matcha drinks with oat milk, which is perfect because I'm lactose intolerant lol. The matcha cloudo with oat milk was amazing!! Subtle floral and earthy flavors from the Jasmine green tea. The sea salt cream top helps balance sweet and bitter matcha flavor. My friend got the matcha makio and also said it was good. Drink presentation was beautiful. Highly recommend! read more

Was walking to another boba shop and stumbled on this. It's the old Ambrosia in Chinatown. Parking is hard bc it's Chinatown. Small but functional. Small seated area in front, order in the back. Drinks are quick to come. Tea forward and boba is standard (not too chewy). Fruit smoothies were filled with fruit and not too sweet. read more
Wonderful experience, they're quite busy and sometimes there's a line but they work very fast. The store's quite small more of a togo drink kind of place but nice to sip as you explore chinatown! Their matchas are flavorful and isn't drowned out by milk or other flavors, I think they find a nice way to blend other flavors in. That being said I would still just recommend their matcha the most and pass if you're simply looking for some good boba. read more
I ordered a matcha cloudo with signature sweetness & less ice, it was a 10/10! The jasmine tea and sea salt foam is a great combo with the matcha I will definitely be back for this drink! Prices are pretty fair compared to how much matcha costs now (~$8) and the only size for matcha is 16oz. I also saw they had an oat milk version of the matcha drinks for the same price, which is perfect for those who are non dairy! Service, decor and ambiance here is amazing. The seating is very cute too but limited and there are no tables. read more

I tried the brown sugar milk tea with no ice and less sugar. Flavor was delicious and creamy. The staff are pleasant and the store interior is very aesthetic. My only minor gripe is that the music was a bit loud, but I'll definitely be back to try more flavors. read more

I'm highly impressed with this place! We went on a Friday evening and while it was packed, it was also very efficient. Unfortunately, they were out of their brown sugar series so we only got the strawberry with cream (I also added the agar boba). The agar boba was sadly very sparse in my drink and for an additional $0.95, kind of a rip off. However, I am so in love with my drink. It was a perfect combo/contrast with the strawberry bits and the tea flavor. Not to mention the salted cream on top is to die for! Can't wait to come back and try more. read more
Came here with a friend after they really wanted to try it out. I immediately noticed the nice grey-coded ambiance. It felt very chic and inviting. It was a busy time but I felt like the line didn't take too long to get through. The person at the register was pretty nice, although she had some difficulty explaining some things to me. I decided to go with the Guava Lemonade and it was so good! There was a good fruity sweetness to it that made me drink it so fast! Even the drink my friend got was really good even though it was a completely different drink. A great spot overall! read more

Both the drinks we got were very refreshing and the flavors were delicate. I got the Matcha cloudo and my friend got the guava lemonade! The service was quick. They definitely were hustling back there. There is limited seating, but that atmosphere is nice. read more
I highly recommend this matcha place in Chinatown! At first, I was hesitant as the matcha was a bit bitter however, a couple minutes in I was able to enjoy the flavor, it was a perfect sweetness, strength of the matcha, good sweetness. I highly recommend and would come back. read more

solo date walking around CID~ out of all matcha places in the area, I decided on Le Grey. interior was minimal and pretty. I ordered their hojicha cloud oat and it did not disappoint. sooo yummy! I was the only one there ordering at the time and felt a bit uncomfortable, like I was being watched by one of the workers for some odd reason. regardless I would still come back. read more
Cute tea cafe in ID. The space is small, so will get crowded and stuffy as you wait for your order. There's a line out the door already 15 min after they open. It took 15 minutes for my to receive my drink. I thought it was okay, wasn't amazing. I'll try hojicha next. read more
Clean, slick, niche in the international district serving matcha and other tea drinks. It's more of a grab and go spot but has some sitting areas for people to hang out for a bit while waiting for their drinks. I would not recommend treating it like a coffee shop you would work/study at. read more
New matcha café in the C-ID. It's in a pretty convenient location since it's near a public transit hub with a light rail station, regional bus stops, and the First Hill Streetcar. Cardstock menus are available on the counter if you need some time to see what they offer. I ordered their Hojicha Oolong. Good balance of flavors. If you need a good caffeine hit, this is the beverage for you. Limited seating is available so if it's all occupied think of another warm, dry place to go to. If the weather is decent you have some options: Walk to Kobe Terrace. Cherry blossoms should bloom pretty soon. You can walk to the Waterfall Garden in Pioneer Square, walk to the Waterfront Promenade, or walk to the Pioneer Square Habitat Beach. I'm looking forward to the rollout of their full menu. read more

An amazing edition to the Chinatown area! I came here with some friends and we ordered the Matcha Cloudo plus Strawberry Kinu smoothie. Both drinks were delicious and the star for me was definitely the Strawberry Kinu, I just loved how it tasted when the flavors mixed together. The aesthetic of this store is definitely Instagram worthy with a gray color scheme. The staff were polite and efficient, and in the waiting area they have building-block-like seats. They're fun to mess with but aren't too comfortable to sit on. Le Grey is a pretty small store so it's more of a grab and go place but I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

yum! came by at around 8pm and wasn't too busy. i shared a brown sugar boba milk tea with my friend and was pleasant surprised. not too sweet, but i can tell the tea quality is high. it was actually very similar to heytea's milk tea. the boba was also the perfect texture, not too soft not too firm. i did ask the employee if it was possible to do a jasmine milk tea, but unfortunately they don't have a recipe for that? which would be nice to have on the menu. overall cute spot, but not a huge amount of sitting room. definitely a pick up and go type of shop. read more

I'm not kidding when I say I come here every other week just to get their Misty Puer drink. I love how consistent they are when I ask for no sugar and they give a warning about their difference in flavor profile. I usually go for no sugar or little sugar read more
Went on their opening day and was happy to see it was busy but not crazy. It's a really cute and well decorated spot , with seating near the window. I think they have a smaller menu right now and will expand their menu later as they had a sign saying more items coming soon so I guess they're in their soft opening phase. I wanted to try very different drinks so I ordered one milk tea from their signature menu the misty puer and one smoothie, they were out of mango so I got strawberry. When I ordered the misty puer, I asked to add boba and the cashier recommended I didn't so I followed her suggestion. In the end I think my friends hojicha drink was probably the best and was by far the most flavorful, I think my misty puer was very creamy and not very tea tasting and honestly could've taken the boba and the strawberry drink was good but nothing crazy. Overall I liked it and I'll be happy to try again once the rest of their menu is out read more

i think this replaced Yifang. i went here on a whim, and service was quick. i enjoyed my Hojicha Oolong! their signature sugar level is the right amount of sweetness for me. the drink costs $7.75 (with tax, $8.57) but does with the cheese foam on top. would come again to try their other drinks. read more
