I was visiting SEA and my friend recommended this place specifically because they were known for their hojicha latte, and it did not disappoint. The hojicha had a nice roasted flavor and was exactly what I was hoping for. Aside from the drink, the decor might have been my other favorite part of the experience. The entire space is so thoughtfully designed, with a very modern aesthetic while incorporating subtle Japanese influences throughout. Nothing feels overly themed or forced. Every detail feels intentional, from the pieces and finishes to the overall layout. Not much seating tbh, more of a grab and go spot. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, so it's a bummer they didn't work out some seating situation. If you're a fan of hojicha or appreciate beautifully designed cafes, this one is worth checking out.
The ambiance inside is nice, love the aesthetic. My bf ordered the grapefruit smash with signature sweetness, but said he wished he ordered a less sweet one. Mine, the matcha cortado, on the other hand, wasn't sweet enough and didn't have the most prevalent matcha flavor. The nuttiness from the sesame and seaweed was interesting and unique since I have not seen this at other places. I would come back for a less sweet grapefruit smash and be open to trying a hojicha next
Really liked the Hojicha Oolong here - I wanted to try this specific drink during my recent trip to Seattle and liked it enough that I made sure I came back the next day before my flight. When I went on a Friday around 2p there was no line to order but quite a few people sitting inside drinking and talking. There was a line outside right before opening on Saturday but service is pretty quick. Ambiance inside is relatively minimalist with a small amount of seating. Definitely would recommend this drink to anyone visiting Seattle.
Delicious drinks and nice cafe aesthetic! I got the misty puer with boba - medium sweet and my husband got the hojicha oolong with boba - medium sweet and we both really enjoyed our drinks! We were especially happy with the boba quality! Service was friendly and its credit card only!

Super yummy drink! Very refreshing. I got the matcha cloudo (matcha later and jasmine tea). Super convenient location in CID, close to the light rail so you could easily stop by. Kinda an order and carry out place. Not many seats. Most of the seats were taken by people waiting for their drinks!
A very cute café with a modern, minimalist design. I ordered the Matcha Island with boba, and it was such a refreshing summer drink. It was exactly what I needed after walking around Seattle on a hot day. The earthy matcha and creamy coconut blended really well together. The matcha was bold enough to shine through, while the coconut softened it without overpowering it.
Interior design is very simple and elegant. The drinks that me and my friends tried were all good. we tried the matcha cloud and the mango smoothie. Definitely would come back and try other drink mixes.
Le Grey LOOKS like a bougie coffee joint, but it's actually a bougie TEA joint. And their tea is good. Damn good. Last I was here, shared a matcha latte with oat milk with a friend, and wish I had gotten my own. It wasn't just any matcha latte, this "Matcha Cloudo" is made with a melodic jasmine green tea, and topped with sea salt cream. The jasmine is so pronounced you can't miss it. Love to see spots like this popping up, and can't wait to return. And maybe sit by the window and maybe stare blankly outside like I've got big thoughts. And sip another Matcha Cloudo. Pinch me! Le Grey is a cafe located in Internation District/Chinatown in Seattle. This is where the old Ambrosia Cafe was located before it shut down. It is a pretty small cafe with a few seats, mainly dedicated to saiting and waiting for your order to be ready. It is very modern and minimalistic inside. I ordered the iced Matcha Cloudo, which ended up being $7.75 without making any changes to it. The total after tax was $8.57. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from Le Grey, but I was absolutely blown away by the drink. The green tea is very fragrant which I loved! This is one of the best matchas I have had in Seattle in a while! My sister ordered the ice Hojicha Oolong + Oat, which ended up being $7.75 as well. This is great because that means even with the oat milk it didn't add on to the cost of the drink. Her total ended up as $8.57, too. The quality of the hojicha was great as well! Happily pleased and satisfied with our drinks from Le Grey! Looking forward to trying other drinks in the future.
The seasonal green cortado is one of the most unique matcha drinks I've had in Seattle. Topped with black sesame powder and nori, the savory notes gradually infuse into the drink as you sip, making each taste a little different from the last. The matcha itself is excellent and balanced enough to stand up to the milk instead of getting lost, which isn't always the case with specialty matcha lattes. That said, I was definitely surprised by the price. Since it's a cortado, the drink is served in a very small cup, which I expected, but I still had a bit of sticker shock when the total came out to around $10. The service also felt a little off during my visit. The employee wasn't rude, but the interaction felt very scripted and a bit rushed, leaving me feeling like I needed to make a decision quickly. There isn't much seating, so it's probably not the best spot to settle in with a laptop or catch up with friends for a while. The interior, however, is beautifully designed with a clean, modern aesthetic that makes the space feel thoughtfully curated. Despite a couple of small drawbacks, I'd absolutely come back for another cortado because the drink itself was genuinely memorable.
Located in the CID with plenty of nearby street parking and accessible with public transportation. The space itself is pretty small with the ordering area being towards the back of the store and then the waiting area being towards the front. I came by when it was pretty busy and even then, the wait for the drink was very quick. Ordered the Matcha Makio with 0% sugar and they were persistent that I shouldn't order it because it was going to be too strong but after getting it, it didn't feel as strong as they were making it to be. Overall a good earthy taste and appreciated that it wasn't too milky. Would definitely come back again to try the other drinks.
Very tasty drink! They do have dairy free options with modification, but that's not immediately clear from the menu. The server was really helpful in customizing our drinks so that I could make sure mine was dairy free. They have some lovely tea options and everything was very well made and looked great. The inside seating though a bit small is very minimalist and classy. Would probably come back again if I was in the neighborhood.

Nice new boba spot to try! I had their mango smoothie and it was good! I had cheese cream which I loved with the mango smoothie. Don't shake the drink, just swirl it before drinking! The ambiance was great! Very clean and organized and I loved how they decorated it. Simple and aesthetic. There's not too much seating though. The service was good. We finally get another matcha place in Seattle, and it's in Chinatown too! This takes the place of what used to be Yifang, which used to be Ambrosia, so this particular storefront has undergone many changes. The inside has side seating but not tables; most of the space is for the counter and kitchen where orders are made. It feels modern and minimalistic inside with the new and fresh decorations like a makeshift cherry blossom tree at the front. Menus are located at the front of the store and just before you line up to place your order. Most drinks here are matcha based, with some being original creations and others being their oat milk counterparts. I got their matcha cloudo with oat milk on medium sweet - BIG mistake on my part which I'll get to on the last paragraph - and my bestie got their hojicha oolong on signature sweetness. Now the matcha cloudo is amazing on its own; they use ceremonial which I could taste through the strong grassy and floral tones, and the sea salt cream gave it a nutty taste. My mistake was getting it on medium sweetness, which is less than their signature sweetness, and which I found out after having my bestie's hojicha oolong after noticing my matcha cloudo was bland. Speaking of that, the hojicha taste is strong, and it uses sea salt cream like the matcha cloudo. As implied from the drink I got, do NOT get anything less than signature sweet on your drinks - even if you're trying to avoid sugar. The staff at the front recommend this sweetness level, and I would stick with it too. Their menu options are limited but i see myself coming back whenever I feel like getting a matcha fix without having to drive too far up north. read more

First off, pretty great marketing. Social media popped off before they opened, and the grey, modern aesthetic is def rare to the area at least. I came by on a Saturday late afternoon, and there wasn't a line to order, but I had to wait ~25 minutes for my drinks. I ordered the le grey green tea with sea salt cream, no sweet and it was not bad. I really liked the sea salt cream, but the tea was super light which I don't prefer. Halfway through the drink, the sea salt cream disappeared, and I was left with watery tea and milk, which was not very good. I'd be open to coming back to try other drinks, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit especially given the long wait times on weekends read more
A nice little tea shop with really good drinks. The space is pretty small - just two benches and no tables. But the minimalist, aesthetic interior made it feel elevated. We ordered the Hojicha Oolong with oat milk and the Matcha Makio, and both were really solid. The flavors were rich without being too strong or too sweet. The Hojicha Oolong was especially smooth, and I really enjoyed the cream top - it wasn't too thick. The staff were really busy and it took a little long for the drinks to come out but you can see How efficient they were behind the counter. Overall I was impressed by this spot! read more
This spot has been all over Instagram most people mention their aesthetic so I wasn't sure what to expect in regards to their quality and flavor of beverages. First off my go to is not Matcha so when my friend said he really enjoyed their Hojicha Oolong it caught my interest since I enjoy both leaf versions of those two teas and wouldn't have necessarily thought they would go together in a milk tea. But this really worked I lot less ice and light sweetness which was perfect. The Hojicha Oolong is a house made with oolong milk tea, finished with roasted hojicha, topped with sea salt cream. It automatically comes with oat milk but you can switch out for regular. I like that they use Califia Oat Milk not Oatly. The oil content in Oatly upsets my stomach. I was very happy how delicious this drink was. I was catching the street car a little bit after I ordered and I finished it so fast. Nice to have more places serving Hojicha drinks around town. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Look forward to trying some other items on the menu. read more

The hype is real. Highly recommend their matcha cloudo (half sweet, regular ice). Perfectly balanced drink with jasmine tea. I think the best way to drink it is without a straw so you get some salted cold foam with each sip. Also- love that they don't charge extra for oat milk! I can tell they put a lot of thought into developing the drink and menu. Not a big shop, no real seating inside except some spots to wait for your drink, so I recommend getting your drink and walking around ID. Will be back for their full menu. First off, the environment is super clean with really great energy. It has that kind of vibe where you actually want to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink instead of rushing out. Definitely a place you can see yourself coming back to regularly. The drinks are where they really shine. I highly recommend the Guava Lemonade (fixed ice). If you're someone who loves guava juice and lemon layered over jasmine iced tea, this will easily become one of your favorite drinks. It's refreshing, balanced, and just done right. Customer service was good, no complaints but if I'm being honest, it didn't quite match the level of the drinks and the ambiance. Nothing bad at all, just not as memorable as everything else. Finally checked out Le Gray Tea Co in Seattle and I get the hype I ordered their matcha drink and it was honestly so good, super smooth with a really light floral note that made it feel a little elevated compared to your usual matcha. Not too sweet, not bitter, just really well balanced. The space itself is cute and minimal, perfect for a quick stop or catching up with a friend. Only thing I wish? A strawberry matcha option would make this place next level Still 100% coming back to try more! read more
Pretty visuals inside with grey interior and cherry blossoms. Thankfully there was no line on the second day of their soft opening. I like how the matcha cloudo tasted strongly of jasmine tea. TLDR: Really aesthetic speciality new tea/boba spot in the ID. Came during their soft opening and really enjoyed it. Quite busy and can't wait to come back during their grand opening. Drinks: I got the matcha cloudo medium sweet (jasmine + matcha) and thought it was really good. While the main flavor was jasmine due to the cream, the matcha still came through and game some nuttiness and flavor. Service/Ambiance: While it was quite busy, the staff was really nice. As far as ambiance, the store is very modern and chic with a few places to sit while you wait for your order Misc: I originally wanted the Hojiacha Oolong but they were out of stock, they were also out my second choice which was the Misty Puer. New tea spot in International District- small spot with limited seating so it's pretty much for grab and go. I tried matcha cloudo and hojicha oolong which were recommended as the favorites. Matcha cloudo has matcha, jasmine tea and sea salt foam- soo good! I got it half sugar because they said it was on the sweet side which was perfect. Hojicha oolong was balanced as well and has a caffeine hit. I will be back to try the fruit smoothies! read more
Le Grey?! I am a big fan! I got their Mango Kinu which is their blended mango smoothie with ripe mangoes. I got it with signature sweetness and it was everything I want in a mango (coconut milk) smoothie! I didn't expect much considering it's not necessarily champagne mango season in March but it was perfectly sweet, creamy with what tasted like a coconut cream (correct me if I am wrong). Thankfully there wasn't a line on a Thursday afternoon, but the wait for the drinks did take 10-15 minutes or so. In terms of the interior vibe, it was modern, sleek, clean, and felt luxurious! I wish it was a bigger space so there is ample seating but otherwise, it's a nice place to get a drink. read more
They're in soft opening as of March 9, 2026! I've been anticipating on their opening for awhile (since last August) and glad to see them open with the matcha concept. The interior design is modern and sleek and very instagrammable. I ordered the matcha cloudo-oat, and it is very jasmine forward with a good matcha base. I think the oat milk definitely brings out the flavor and I really enjoy my drink. There are some seats along the wall & windows but it can get pretty cramped in there. I hope they implement online ordering and pick up in the future. So far, so good! read more
The matcha cloudo was 4/5 stars for me. The ingredients taste clearly of high quality, especially obvious with the cloudo cream. The jasmine flavor is balanced and the floral quality shines, but there's not enough matcha flavor to balance the milkiness and dairy flavor added from the cream. The matcha cloudo without the cream (which my friend got bc she's lactose intolerant) is delicious and much more balanced overall! Also Le Grey makes probably the best hojicha latte of any cafe in Seattle! It's a tea that's definitely on the rise so try this one if you want to be very very pleased read more

As more matcha spots pop up around Seattle, it's hard to choose what to try next! Le Grey has been on my list ever since I heard it replaced the old YiFang in the ID, and it did not disappoint. My friend got the blackberry grape tea and it was nothing short of amazing! The jasmine tea was very fragrant and the sweetness was perfect at the regular level. It's definitely a good alternative when you're feeling something not so milky. I got the Hojicha Oolong and it's among my top favorites for Hojicha in Seattle! Generally, it's pretty hard to find Hojicha where you can taste the roasted flavor, but Le Grey nailed it. Plus, having an oat milk alternative without adding on an extra $1 is always very appreciated. Overall, this place lived up to my expectations and even exceeded them! Safe to say, I'll be returning whenever I'm in the area. read more
Pleasantly surprised! The hojicha & matcha cloud drinks were both very flavorful and I went with a large party and we all enjoyed our drinks. The tea flavor was pretty strong. If you're lactose intolerant make sure to take a lactaid if you get oat milk but have a cream top. Not much seating, more like a grab and go place and the service could have been a little friendlier, but would go again and would recommend. Very aesthetic interior. read more

Was walking to another boba shop and stumbled on this. It's the old Ambrosia in Chinatown. Parking is hard bc it's Chinatown. Small but functional. Small seated area in front, order in the back. Drinks are quick to come. Tea forward and boba is standard (not too chewy). Fruit smoothies were filled with fruit and not too sweet. read more
Wonderful experience, they're quite busy and sometimes there's a line but they work very fast. The store's quite small more of a togo drink kind of place but nice to sip as you explore chinatown! Their matchas are flavorful and isn't drowned out by milk or other flavors, I think they find a nice way to blend other flavors in. That being said I would still just recommend their matcha the most and pass if you're simply looking for some good boba. read more
I ordered a matcha cloudo with signature sweetness & less ice, it was a 10/10! The jasmine tea and sea salt foam is a great combo with the matcha I will definitely be back for this drink! Prices are pretty fair compared to how much matcha costs now (~$8) and the only size for matcha is 16oz. I also saw they had an oat milk version of the matcha drinks for the same price, which is perfect for those who are non dairy! Service, decor and ambiance here is amazing. Le Grey is an elegant and modern shop that serves a variety of tea drinks, mainly matcha. They're located in Chinatown/ International District. I love how aesthetic and sleek the interior is. They have a couple of seats (mainly for you to sit while waiting for your order) but no tables so it's not the best place to hang with people. I loved that they had a menu section dedicated to matcha drinks with oat milk, which is perfect because I'm lactose intolerant lol. The matcha cloudo with oat milk was amazing!! Subtle floral and earthy flavors from the Jasmine green tea. The sea salt cream top helps balance sweet and bitter matcha flavor. My friend got the matcha makio and also said it was good. Le Grey has become one of my favorite places in CID. The Matcha Cloudo - Oat was one of the best matcha's I have ever had in Seattle. It is so fragrant and floral. Jasmine green tea is layered in this matcha which makes it even more exquisite. The sea salt cream gives it the perfect touch. I had mine as signature sweet with less ice and oat milk. The same is to be said about how delicious the Hojicha Oolong - Oat was as well. I had these drinks on two different occasions. What I enjoy most is their unique menu! It is a smaller space and more convenient as take out, but it is beautiful on the inside and it smells divine. I wish it was a bigger space to sit and take in all the ambiance. Love! read more

We came in on a Sunday and it happened to be a game day. There was a bit of a line but we only waited roughly 10 mins after ordering to get our drinks. We got the matcha cloudo with regular sweetness. It was the perfect amount of sugar and the jasmine flavor was balanced, not super overpowering. It was recommended to try the cream by itself but I personally wasn't a fan, it was better mixed with the matcha. read more

The first and last photos is what I received when I ordered a brown sugar bobo matcha. It was super watery and very bland. It was lacking genuine matcha flavor and the brown sugar was just Okay. The middle photo is what it was supposed to look like. My drink was super light as you can see. read more
I tried the brown sugar milk tea with no ice and less sugar. Flavor was delicious and creamy. The staff are pleasant and the store interior is very aesthetic. My only minor gripe is that the music was a bit loud, but I'll definitely be back to try more flavors. read more

Perfect location in ID district. Good amount of options to choose from. The hojicha was just right not too sweet. The mango kinu is really good. I will definitely come back to try the matcha drinks and brown sugar options. Service was good, didn't feel rushed to order. The interior is also very modern and different for this area. read more

I'm highly impressed with this place! We went on a Friday evening and while it was packed, it was also very efficient. Unfortunately, they were out of their brown sugar series so we only got the strawberry with cream (I also added the agar boba). The agar boba was sadly very sparse in my drink and for an additional $0.95, kind of a rip off. However, I am so in love with my drink. It was a perfect combo/contrast with the strawberry bits and the tea flavor. Not to mention the salted cream on top is to die for! Can't wait to come back and try more. read more
Came here with a friend after they really wanted to try it out. I immediately noticed the nice grey-coded ambiance. It felt very chic and inviting. It was a busy time but I felt like the line didn't take too long to get through. The person at the register was pretty nice, although she had some difficulty explaining some things to me. I decided to go with the Guava Lemonade and it was so good! There was a good fruity sweetness to it that made me drink it so fast! Even the drink my friend got was really good even though it was a completely different drink. A great spot overall! read more

Both the drinks we got were very refreshing and the flavors were delicate. I got the Matcha cloudo and my friend got the guava lemonade! The service was quick. They definitely were hustling back there. There is limited seating, but that atmosphere is nice. read more
I highly recommend this matcha place in Chinatown! At first, I was hesitant as the matcha was a bit bitter however, a couple minutes in I was able to enjoy the flavor, it was a perfect sweetness, strength of the matcha, good sweetness. I highly recommend and would come back. read more
Cute tea cafe in ID. The space is small, so will get crowded and stuffy as you wait for your order. There's a line out the door already 15 min after they open. It took 15 minutes for my to receive my drink. I thought it was okay, wasn't amazing. I'll try hojicha next. read more
