This small, private business is serving up homemade Eastern European and Russian pastries. The variety is good with the incorporation of many seasonal and tasty treats. The owner is engaging, pleasant and shares detailed information about her delicious creations. We chose the raspberry with cream cheese croissant and the pear with almond paste croissant. All of the croissants were light, fluffy and crisp. The berry flavors were clean, sweet and crisp. It is a good combination and not heavy. A small critique is a slight bit of dryness. Overall, this is a great stop for a homemade tasty treat to your morning routine. The owner of Veronika's Pastry Shop takes great pride in her craft and ability to make delicious and savory treats. I got the "yin yang" which was described to me as "vanilla and espresso cake with raspberry frosting". She went to put it in a monstrosity of plastic container and I asked her to just give it to me to eat straight away and she seemed like this was the first time she'd been asked this (there were tables there so clearly people have eaten on site before). Ended up being placed on a napkin The cupcake itself was a bit undercooked and had, surprise, a lot of gooey caramel in it that made it impossible to eat cleanly. So I had one bite and it was far too sweet and the tossed it.

The menu is approachable, affordable, and creative. They voiced that the goal was to have an affordable and healthy option in Billings for families. And that it is! They try to source all ingredients locally, they make their own breads and sweets, and partner with local citizens who grow greens, veggies, etc. Their hours are not set yet as they are just starting up but I know they are open for lunches on week days and brunch on Saturday starting at 10AM. I had the croissant French toast which is soaked in vanilla cream overnight (SO GOOD) and my husband had eggs with avocado toast (4 thick slices with generous amounts of avocado) and the side of potatoes was amazing-rosemary flavored and crispy. These meals were about $7 each. It was a deal. We will definitely be returning! The owners kids and wife came by as we were finishing and it was hard to pull our daughter away from playing with his crew, who generously shared their toys with her. This is a gem and I hope they thrive in Billings!

With hand-pies, cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, scones, etc. and, of course, coffee, Miss GiGi's has everything for a decadent, carb-filled breakfast. It works. On the weekends, they have biscuits and gravy and once it's okay to linger again, it will be an ideal spot to relax and gear up for the morning at work, or to begin your weekend exploratory jaunt. We tried a selection of things: the cream-cheese icing on an apple-filled roll, and the chocolate-covered vanilla-bean cream filled -- or at least bites of each. They were really good, but if the filling is what you crave the most, then there wasn't much of it in either. A bite or two is just about right, the rest relatively ordinary, but still okay. It was a good foil to coffee and tea. The hand-pie, the peach, was large enough to split into two servings, and heated up well on the next day. The selections of everything each day is limited, so getting there first thing in the morning, ensures you can get your favorite.
