The cleaning was extremely thorough. So thorough, it hurt. If it hadn't hurt, then I would have known she wasn't being serious about it. When she saw my discomfort, she asked if I wanted a topical to reduce the pain. I did, and it helped. Dr. Sorensen came in, was very friendly, and had doubts about my need for a root canal, which I had been told would eliminate the pain in a tooth. More likely, it was crowding, which I had suspected. That being the case, the cleaning has, as of now, eliminated the pain in that tooth almost entirely, which seems to confirm his theory. Otherwise, it would still hurt. They leverage technology to ensure you don't forget your appointment and are very flexible if you ever need to reschedule. Whether it's a routine check up / cleaning or something more complicated, I've never had to spend more than an hour with an appointment. Since I normally schedule for first thing in the morning (7:30am) before going to work, I appreciate things not running late. We once had some confusion with billing and insurance, but that was isolated. Also know that fluoride after cleaning is optional. It can be relatively pricey and there was one time when it was done but I wasn't asked. All in all, I enjoy my visits to Palm Valley Dentistry and recommend Dr. Yoder.

St. John's Dental does just that. I have had a good experience with St John's from the very first phone inquiry to the last cleaning. Robin works the front desk and words cannot describe the ease she is able to instill into the patients nervously tapping their toes in the reception area. She really is helpful as well. Robin is not afraid of a little extra work as she has gone out of her way for our whole family with follow up calls and research that is most likely outside of the scope of her position. She sets the tone for the entire staff at St John's Dental and she, as well as the entire knowledgeable staff is greatly appreciated. As a side note, the waiting area is really clean and peaceful. There is some really comfortable seating, soothing paint colors and always current magazines to peruse. St John's has also gone as far as to have provided a children's niche for the kids to occupy their time as well. The little nook is painted with a jungle them and has a DVD player for movies, toys and book. This is a great office environment, with a great staff willing to go out of their way to make the dental experience more pleasant for their patrons. Definitely 5 stars for St John's Dental.
