My husband and I went down to Wholesale Candy World on a Friday afternoon. It was tough to find…read moretime to go, as it is in a warehouse district nowhere near my daily route, and it is not open on nights or weekends. We were searching for some retro candy for an upcoming event. The warehouse isn't huge, but it is big for a candy store. It is really for buying cases of bulk candy. It is not a cutely displayed vintage candy store, but it also does not claim to be. It was a really good place to get the bulk of the candy we needed for the event. Everything was sold in large amounts. We picked up some items such as jawbreakers, candy cigarettes, Big League Chew, and Now and Laters. I did wish some times came in more of a variety pack and that others came in slightly smaller portions. We did decide to buy some of the items elsewhere because we simply didn't want that much of one flavor of a certain type of candy. I think it is a great place to buy candy in bulk, though I do think the variety could be a bit better. All in all, it was a useful trip for us to prepare for our event.

Near the end of the adventure in this candy store maze, there are some of the more larger name brand candy bars available. The customer service of the guy who checked me out was really great. He didn't charge me for a couple of pieces that I had gotten, and I thought that was really nice of him. All in all the candy that I chose was fresh, tasty, and I enjoyed the adventure of going through the store to pick out what I wanted. I will definitely return.

This popcorn shoppe has been in Parkway Plaza for years (I believe the owner said 33 years?) but I…read moredon't know that I've stopped in frequently but I've missed out. The woman at the counter (owner I believe) was so friendly and chatted with us even offering us samples. We were initially drawn in by the rainbow popcorn (it reminded us of the popcorn they sell at Disneyland); once I sampled the Carmel popcorn definitely drew me in (so delicious!) we ended up buying both. The rainbow popcorn was pretty and tasty but the flavors didn't quite go together and it reminded us more of the Disney popcorn in visual appearance less than taste. ($7.50 for a small bag) The carmel - DELICIOUS. Would buy again for sure. I bought a box $7 (the small bag was $5 I believe and the owner said this was TWICE as large ‍) Ambiance was nostalgic and classic. One thing I wish is that prices were clearly displayed on all products and easier to see without "going in" to the shop area (I hate going in to a place if I end up not purchasing). With Parkway Plaza going through so many changes I am glad to see this place is still around, I hope it continues to stay around and I will definitely be popping in more frequently when I'm in the area.

I don't know if I would pick this one as one I would buy...unless it was the only option! My favorites so far have been the lemon fudge, the smores fudge and the regular fudge. And yes...I had to explore all three! Both markets were bright, clean, and incredibly well organized. One of my favorite sections was the tea aisle. As someone who absolutely loves tea, I was in heaven. Their selection is huge, with everything from loose-leaf teas to powdered varieties that you don't typically find in traditional American grocery stores. I'll definitely be back to stock up on a few new favorites. I originally stopped in to purchase a matcha whisk set, but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. That didn't stop me from finding a few treasures, though! I ended up browsing the cookware section and picked up a beautifully designed set of reusable chopsticks along with beginner-friendly M-shaped training chopsticks. One unexpected highlight was getting to try a hand massage machine. It applies pressure to acupuncture points throughout your hand, and wow--it felt amazing! I'm seriously considering going back just to buy one. The produce section also looked fresh and inviting, so I can definitely see myself returning to shop for groceries. Plus, since my sons love anime, I already know they'll enjoy checking out the merchandise store with all the fun Japanese collectibles and character items. Whether you're looking for authentic Japanese groceries, unique kitchenware, specialty teas, or fun gifts, Tokyo Central & Main is absolutely worth visiting. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by--you'll probably leave with more than you planned, just like I did! And you already know you can always thank me later
