There are a group of tables on the first level that face the city across the river. We were seated one level up so no real view. I started with the veloute/soup and it was very good. I had the st jaques/scallops and my friend had the paleron/angus steak. they were good, but not super memorable. We finished with chocolate banana flambe which was very good. All the food was nicely presented. My friend is french so that always helps ease the communication and service, which was excellent. We each had one glass of wine, so with my appetizer, the two entrees and two desserts, the total came to 108 euros, so not super expensive for the quality of ingredients and good solid cuisine.

We tried pointing it out to our hostess, but she became defensive and seemed reluctant to offer us anything else. Our French isn't great, but we thought we at least had "tap water" down--we even checked with a French friend-- but after a minute of blank looks from our hostess, we just settled for a 5 EUR bottle of bottled water. All told, 40 USD for mussles and fries, a salad, onion soup and a pint of water. We met wonderful people and had some amazing meals in the Loire, but this place brought back most of the horrible things we'd heard abut traveling in France and the French attitude toward tourists.
