Tempting since it's right next to the chateau, but steer away. Onion soup was salty but otherwise thin in flavor. We tried pointing it out to our hostess, but she became defensive and seemed reluctant to offer us anything else. Our French isn't great, but we thought we at least had "tap water" down--we even checked with a French friend-- but after a minute of blank looks from our hostess, we just settled for a 5 EUR bottle of bottled water. All told, 40 USD for mussles and fries, a salad, onion soup and a pint of water. We met wonderful people and had some amazing meals in the Loire, but this place brought back most of the horrible things we'd heard abut traveling in France and the French attitude toward tourists. read more
