The shell was not crispy as I had expected but rather just slightly chewy. The fondant on top just tastes like sugary, chewy icing and would have been better omitted. Still, I would definitely return for this and to try other flavors! Dark Chocolate Cream Puff Cream puff with dark chocolate filling topped with chocolate fondant. The filling is thicker than the vanilla and while good, this flavor was not as outstanding as the vanilla.

My friends and boyfriend all also got some interesting flavors. The wait definitely took us a while to get through but it is understandable why. At Amorino, they can even shape your gelato into a beautiful rose shape! I would particularly recommend this location as it is really close to the Pantheon! You could grab a scoop or two as you make your way to the final resting place of so many of France's notable men (and 2 women!) If you go the opposite direction, you could walk with your scoop to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. Though it was winter when I went, it was still gorgeous! I LOVED Amorino!

"Framboisier: génoise amande, crème à la vanille de Madagascar, framboises, amandes caramélisées" Never having had a Framboisier, I had to google a couple if ingredients first. Roughly translated, it's a tiny raspberry cake made of a almond biscuit base, Madagascan vanilla cream, raspberries, caramelized almonds. It's about 10cm in diameter and costs 8,50€. Reading the description made me wonder if that price might be worth it. The second my fork cut through the cake, I thought "what is this sorcery?", the second my tongue tasted the creation, I thought "this is sorcery!" Whatever you read what the "génoise" is supposed to be, this one comes from a different level of heaven. I ate this cake as slow as I could, without making the very friendly waiters think there was something wrong with me or the cake. It was THAT good. Instead of drawing ideas into my sketchbook, I marveled about the gentle deliciousness of this cake. For 2 hours. The Framboisier was a worthy last dessert I savored before getting said plane. Served with some vanilla ice cream, the sugar-and-almond-coated brioche was a light and lovely dessert, but nothing I'd run back to the bakery to experience again. Maybe it's all about Sebastien's other eye-pooping desserts, but with so many amazing bakeries on the block (e.g. Delmontel) I'm more inclined to go back to where the price/quality ratio is guaranteed.

It's a super cute hole in the wall, literally, because if you step two feet outside the door, you're on a one way street with plenty of cars passing through.
