OH MAH GOD. Thank goodness we stumbled upon this place when strolling aimlessly through Paris this afternoon. After having some delicious cream puffs from Maitre Choux in London just days before, I was almost sure that I couldn't find a pattisserie who makes choux pastries as well as the British dessert shop. And boy, was I wrong... Or maybe I was just feeling that way because it was such a pleasant surprise. We walked into Popelini with no idea what to expect and walked out wanting to walk right back in because those choux puffs knocked us off our feet! The pistachio and passion fruit were both amazing and so addicting. The choux was soft with a slight crunch on top thanks to the crackelin and chocolate disk. We wanted more, heck a whole box! But at 2.50(?) EU a pop we had to save the monies as other sweets were awaiting for us as we walked through the rest of the city filled with pattisseries at every corner.

My love of cream puffs originated from my mother. Biting into the soft shell where inside hid a present of luscious, rich custard. I despised cream puffs filled with whipped cream, still do. It was raining the day we trekked to Popelini. We got a box of 12 small cream puffs for €22. A variety of flavors that gave it the novelty of macarons. The shell had a slight sugar crust to it, and on top of that were individual glaze patties. The rose was the most fun to try, but my favorite was the salted caramel. Delicious, cute, pretty creations that were as much fun picking out as they were eating haha. My favorite cream puff is still from Sugar Fixe Patisserie, but I highly recommend these unique little cuties xD

I really like Popelini because there isn't anything like it. Their cream puffs are delicious and the shops have great presentation. It is simple and yummy. I went to the shop on Rue des Martyrs and fell head over heels for their lemon cream puff. I can't wait to get these for an apéro or celebration sometime.

Excellent chou filled with chocolate. I was wandering down the street in search of dessert. Popelini had been on my list so I was glad to come across it. The dark chocolate chou was excellent.

Definitely drop in to sample their wonderful cream filled pastries while touring Paris. The divine cream puffs are one of my favorites.

This was one of our first stops in Paris since it is walking distance from our Airbnb. The store is cute, very pretty presentation, and the girl working was very nice. Her English was perfect too. The cream puffs are just way too sweet for my liking. We got the passion fruit and salted caramel and could only finish half of each. To each their own.

Beautiful store on a great street selling incredible little puffs filled with unbelievably good flavored pastry creams. The salted caramel is superlative. Friendly and gracious service, as well.

They're good, but honestly? A shop with only choux? It's a bit of a bore. Meet me at Pain du Sucre instead.

    They are good

I still dream of Popelini. I wish they had one in California. So. Damn. Good. Every single cream puff was delicious.

I've visited here twice, both times ordering the spiral croissants, their so called and playfully named "escargot", one with chocolate and pistachio, the other with raisins. I loved both. The croissants, while perfectly flaky, had a soft, moist interior where the filling nestled. The bottom was sticky with syrup. Of the two, my favorite was the pistachio-filled escargot, with chocolate chips that were neither too rich nor too dark, just right. If only I could be there again!
