Seriously this is the spot!…read more Came in without an appointment to work out some major tension in my neck and lower back (cervical and lumbar spinal column) from a long flight, and in 30 minutes walked out feeling totally loose and blissed out. Erica was my practitioner, and wow she did some amazing work. I told her that my spots were my neck and lower back and she was skillful, but also I could tell she was methodically feeling out/sensing the sources of my tension and gently applying more and more pressure (checking in to make sure it was not too much). I just came back from Thailand and Vietnam, and had some of the best massages in my life there- but Erica at Birds of Paradise Spa matched/surpassed those experiences. So thankful... was only a 30 minute chair massage but wow did it do the trick. I usually tip 15-20%, but since this was only $50 I felt like I had to leave 40%. Can't emphasize how therapeutically effective it was for me!

I wanted a massage to help bring some much-needed relief, so I randomly did a Google search and came across Jin Spa Hawaii, which happened to be nearby and had last-minute openings that same day for both my other half and I. We were able to book separate time slots with Kim, which worked for the both of us. The office is conveniently located in Kahului near Maui Mall. It's a small space, but quiet, clean, and perfectly sufficient for my needs. I filled out an intake form and explained where I had been feeling pain and what I was hoping to get out of the massage. Kim got right to work, and I have to say, she has some VERY strong hands. It was *almost* too much for me at certain points, but I really needed it. Before we started, she asked what type of massage I wanted. I think I chose deep tissue, but she mentioned doing "a little bit of everything," and I just said, "Okay!" Whatever she did, mixing different techniques from deep tissue to Thai massage, it was AAAHMAZING. Even the stretching, which I normally don't care for, was great. By the end, she had worked out a number of the knots in my muscles. All in all, I had a really great experience. It is on the pricier side, but honestly, it seems to be the going rate for massages these days, and in this case, I needed some relief. My other half had the same sentiments and also really enjoyed his massage. It's a simple spot, but was one of the best massages I've had in a while. I'd definitely recommend giving Jin Spa Hawaii a try!

We travel a lot, often seeking out unique massage venues, and I will say thus far, this experience has made it to the top of the list. We enjoyed our massages with Peter and appreciate his attentiveness and kindness. We are back home in SoCal relaxed from a great vacay and massage. Mahalo Peter! A Hui Hou.
