This campground is not as promised! In the busy season, they are installing a new sewer line. We've had a reprieve from it because of Christmas, but this coming week it will start up again. Their website says you get Direct TV with a $100 deposit for the equipment. It's frustrating that they won't do it "because of Covid". They also don't offer ice "BECAUSE OF COVID". Seriously? You would give the office the money, they would give you a bag of ice from the machine. Guests were not allowed access, only office staff. So much poor maintenance all over the place also. read more

I would recommend that you go to another RV Park in the Keys. Any other RV park would be better. The owner is absent. The Manager is absent. The park is in frightful shape. The park is under construction and the dust and noise is truly a nightmare. Monday through Friday from 8 to 4:30 you can't even hear yourself think for all the construction equipment. The web site states that there are satellite receivers available along with ice and a store. None of that is true. That is unless you are a favored camper and they open the ice machine for you and give you a TV receiver. read more

The facilities were dated but clean. We were fortunate to have stayed at the front end of the park near the office where it was very peaceful and quiet and the sites were mostly well kept. The far side of the park was a different story, it appeared to probably be long term residents over there, some of the residents had a lot of junk around their rigs, fences falling down, etc. There were large items sitting around the dumpster that looked like they had been there for quite some time. There was some loud partying on the far side, but honestly, I couldn't hear them from inside my RV, only when I was outside, which wasn't very often. During our six night stay, we found the office open only twice, I'm not sure why they have a store if it's never open. The biggest problem and really the only reason I wouldn't stay here again is the no-see-ums, aka sand flies, biting midges, or whatever you want to call them. I used to live in Florida, insects are just part of life there, I get that, but no-see-ums are generally only found near the mangroves or swampy areas and this park is surrounded by both and the RV park is the only place we had a problem with them during our visit to the Keys. We love to enjoy the outdoors on our trips, but we couldn't sit outside, we couldn't even open our windows as these insects are so tiny that they can get through the screens (which they did do and infested our RV). The bite stings, but the worst part is the miserable itching that follows and lasts up to two weeks. They seem to be immune to mosquito repellent, I had more than 60 bites on my legs alone, we were doing rock, paper, scissors to see who had to take the dog out. They make it clear when you make your reservations that there are no refunds and now I know why. read more

Awesome place.... staff is over the top -- very friendly and helpful. Activities and group events that are fun. Pool is right temp. Just off the 1 and the bus line (for those that don't have a car). close to Key West yet far enough away. Facilties are kept clean. read more

Lazy Lakes Campground - Pool is lovely and the band enjoyable - Campgrounds Near Me - Summerland Key, Florida

Made and paid for advanced reservations for a 43' Class A and confirmed that we would fit. Arrived mid morning and was given directions to our site. Normally we go check out the site first but we were excited to do some sightseeing so we took their word that we'd fit and drove to our spot. HORRORS!!!! the tight road, the untrimmed bushes and trees and other obstacles were a nightmare. We tried from both directions to park to no avail and after doing bush scratch damage to the side of the RV we gave up and told them it wasn't going to work. They gal at the office apologized and agreed we were very large and she issued me a refund leaving us to find other accommodations during peak season in the Keys. When we got the credit card statement there was no credit. I phoned the resort and spoke to the clerk who issued the refund and she told me that the manager got mad at her for refunding our money and voided the credit without letting us know. (FRAUD) She said that we should have let one of their employees park our rig, they could have made it work. HA HA....between hubby and I we have over 40 years of 40'plus RV driving as well as some long haul driving prior to that. No way would we let anyone else drive the rig and scratch it up just to "make it work" Wouldn't stay here, run as fast as you can to the nearest vacancy. read more

Stayed at Lazy Lakes for one month this winter. It is a nice campground. It is far enough off RT 1 to be quiet. There alot of planned activities for those who want to get involved. People very nice here. Would definately stay here again. The only negative here was spotty internet and my cell service(verizon)was only fair.Only 15 minutes to Key West. read more

This is truly one of the best RV parks I've stayed at, and I've driven from Los Angeles to the Florida Keys staying at RV Parks along the way. The boss Cindy is kind, helpful, and generous. She Threw a massive and generous Super Bowl Party with lots of food for everyone. Terry, one of the workers there is incredibly helpful, going the extra mile to get me electric cables at my camp site. Helpful, generous, and had an amazing time. Thanks so much! read more

This place is a dump. Do not waste your time coming here. For me it was a last option. I'm an insurance adjuster and came down to the keys to do inspections and help the people of the keys get back on their feet. I know that the place was hit by a hurricane and was covered with debris and trash and had numerous trailers flipped over in the park. The owners made space for several people to pull in trailers and RV's. There were no amenities for a while. Still currently no electric. THEY STILL CHARGED US THE FULL NORMAL RATES, to stay at the park. As of 1 Oct. they increased the rate to $70 per day even though there is still no electric. The air smells of dead fish. I have read other reviews from before the hurricane and they say the place smelled of dead fish before the hurricane hit. So they cannot use that excuse! The bathroom facilities are disgusting. I would rather do my business in the mangroves than use their bathrooms. The ground is covered in rock, but when it rains the place becomes a mud pit. Today, I came back at the end of the day. And found that the grounds crew thought it would be funny to hang debris that they were cleaning it up on my RV. I called the owner Dave and explained that his crew was messing with my RV. He told me to let it go! That is was in good fun and no harm was done. He didn't even apologize! I found another park in better condition and charging far less than these thieves! I would leave today but I cannot get into that park for another week. Besides I'm paid up for the week and these people won't give a refund. If you have a choice do not stay here. Pay more and go somewhere else!!!!! read more

Great location and super friendly staff! We enjoyed our time at lazy lakes campground. With the great location you are close enough to key west to enjoy it but far enough away to just chill and enjoy the slow pace of the keys. They are within walking distance of mangrove mamas restaurant. Military friendly. Nice pool and game room. Marry is one of the friendliest people I've ever met and want to make everyone stay AWESOME! Lots of local hangouts and recommendations. Can't say enough great thing about this place. read more

We stayed here for 6 weeks, mid January through February 1 2016 on site 50 then February 1 through February 28 on site 11. Site 11 was preferable by far, quieter, less vehicle activity. We particularly liked the size of the lot, much wider than other RV parks in the Keys except for Blue Water. While in the Keys, we visited almost all of the RV parks for future reference. We found that other RV parks look more like a "sales lot" than someplace I'd stay for more than 1 day. To be fair, Grassy Key RV park has waterfront and another I'd consider. Lazy Lakes is about the closest RV park to Key West other than Boyd's. I gave it 4 stars because the wifi was just OK and the water pressure a little low. The staff at Lazy Lakes is very friendly and accommodating, Robin, Mary, Dave, Terry and Mike. We have a 43' RV coach. It is tight getting in and around the park but then so are all of the others except Blue Water. Couldn't get into Blue Water but after learning the cost, would not consider it worth it anyway. Great kayaking and kayak fishing within a short drive of Lazy Lakes; Blimp Road launch, Geiger key launch, KOA launch. Will return next time we're in the Keys! read more
