So I have been going to Layla's spa for about 10+years. I have used KhanhHa Nguyen for the majority of my times. We go once a month and get her nails and feet done and we use Kayla and Dan. I needed a manicure and got a full set of nails since I would be traveling and training. Ok yesterday my family and I all went to get our nails / pedicures $40 each it was 4 of us my sister took me for my birthday. They sat us down and started the lady ( Lilly) started on us and right away both my sister and I notice she had an attitude but we just left it alone within 5 mins she was ready to put lotion on my foot that's when I ask can you please cut my nails and file my feet please ? That's when all hell broke loose she started cussing at me and very aggressively started to pack up her things that when I said I'm leaving then they all go no wait speak to the manager well he came over apologize and got a new girl ( Kim) she was nice did a great job. But I was disappointed that the manager didn't really care that the lady was cussing at me or didn't even offer a discount we spent over $200. I went here because my normal nail spot was super busy. I received a pedicure and dip, on my real nails. I had to constantly tell the lady who did my pedicure to redo the areas she were missing. She did not shape my toenails either so the paint job look like a kid has done it.There was another lady who did my nails. This shop does dip the old fashion way so my real nails are thick and are not shaped properly. After being there for almost 2 hours, I left unsatisfied. I got there at 9:24a and walked out around 11:30a. I had another appointment at 12p. I will NOT GO BACK to this shop!!! read more

I went to get a overlay set. They used no tips on my nails. Just the acrylic powder. My nails are very short. I asked the lady if she could do a french but using different nail polish colors. When I went to pay the guy at the counter told me it was going to be $60. I asked him why was it so expensive. He told me it was because of the different nail colors. I told him she didn't use gel polish or powder, and used no tips. She just used regular polish. He said the different nail colors on the tips is considered a design. I went ahead and paid because I didn't want to argue with him and cause a scene. After I left I noticed she left acrylic under my nails, the french on one had is bigger than the other. The acrylic is already starting to lift, and I just had them done on Friday! I always thought this place had reasonable pricing and did a good job, but after this experience, I am no longer going to give them my business. read more

I arrived here around 6pm on a Thursday. I was taken to the back for my pedicure within 5 minutes of arriving. After my pedicure I remained in the chair for approximately 60-75 minutes waiting for an open chair for my manicure. I would have normally left at this point but I came with a co-worker and she wanted to wait. When I was finally seated the lady that attempted to work on my nails stated that she didn't know how to do powder nails so I had to wait an additional 30 minutes. When someone was finally available, she moved as slow as molasses and filed my fingertips more than my nails which left me bleeding and annoyed. Long story short I arrived around 6pm and it was after 9pm when I left. My nails turned out ok in the end with the exception of my cut finger and the longest waiting time in the history of getting my nails done. read more

When my mom told me that she drives an hour every time she has to get her nails done , it kind of aroused my curiosity to see this place. Just a single door entrance does not give it any magnificent appearance but the gem is inside those doors. Front counter welcomes you with price list , water , nail colour selection etc. Behind the counter are the 1 long rows of pedicure chairs almost 30 of them. On the right side are the manicure tables. They even have 2 speacial kids chairs of Mickey n ninni mouse. I love to pamper myself n getting pedicures and manicure is my favourite. Any place I go , 2 issues I always come across- 1)language barrier as mostly nail services are by Asians ( they are too good ) 2) no other service except beautiful nails at the end of the service At Layla day spa , they make u feel special. The lady who did my mom's pedicure was so aggressive and she said that it hurt her for a week. I went there another day to get dipping powder and several things went wrong during this visit. First, she takes a chunk of my skin off my index finger and she was so careless and not focused that she made my pinkie finger bleed as well. Secondly, I asked for dipping powder but instead of dipping it, she decided to put it on the old fashioned way without asking me. Thirdly, when I demanded a 50% discount for making me bleed twice on the same day, they gave me 10% discount instead and my other option was to get them removed. After calling almost EVERY nail salon in Forney all but one, Forney Salon Suites but the people who could do it were not in, could not accommodate someone in a chair. Started calling salons in Mesquite finally called Layla's and they were willing to let her bring her own pan to soak her feet in and do the pedicure. We got here and they were all so welcoming and VERY accommodating to her, giving her the queen treatment she's used to. The generosity of the people here really brightened my day. Good pedicure, worst manicure ever. (solar) Three fingers bleeding at cuticles where she was careless with the dremmel tool, specks of leftover nail polish that wasn't removed well on several nail edges, exposed nail along sides of almost every nail....almost everything was done wrong. I Just got home and I can already see cracks below the surface where three tips were inadequacy glued. Technician was careless and far from friendly, twisting my thumb and wrist painfully while filing, and was unable to communicate well enough to transact business. This was the first time a tech ever failed to ask if I liked her work, or if I was pleased. I guess she could tell she did a shameful job. The two stars are both for the pedicurist, who was sweet, attentive and conscientious. read more

I having been happy coming here for my last 9 nail treatments until wk ago Sat. BECKY has been doing my nails & David for most of my pedicures. Always friendly & good job. I made an appt for 4. Got there at 3:50 she was finishing up with a lady. She came over while my pedi got started & put my fingers in foil to remove my powder. She went back over started on the ladies granddaughters full set of nails. At 4:30, I was still waiting, & my fingers were still wrapped w the a acetone/Cotton/foil. Never did Becky come & ck on them. At 4:40, I started removing it, myself. No one in the shop came to assist me. At 5:00, I asked when was my nails getting started. My pedicure was almost finished. When Becky came over - she coped an attitude saying she asked me did I want to wait - never did I understand that. Very few people speak good English. This was the first time I had made an appt---be the last. Usually I just walk in during the week. They weren't busy. Ann, one of the owners had Annie to come over & do my nails. No where was I offered a 10% or 20% off for waiting an hour & fifteen mins before my nails were started. Funny, I always tip at least $5. for my manicure &$5. for the pedicure. I set an appointment for my Wife and daughter to have man/pedis, kinda of a mother daughter day. once they came home and told me of the horrible time they had I will never suggest or send them back here. My daughter only 9 tells me the Guy doing her nails hurt them so bad, and had to have 2 other techs come over and fix what he did. She said she could not understand them and to not ever send he there again. My wife in tears said that the "Heard you through like cattle" stand over your should as you pick color out and as soon as you grab one they are like "oh, oh that is a good one lets hurry and start." even though you are still looking at the different colors. she also continues on explaining the horrific time and all I could do is say sorry I wont send you back there again. So After a $75 bill for both (9) daughter "kids combo" $30 and (wife) deluxe combo $45 what a waste of money to be treated like cattle and through some color on your nails. I was sent here by a good friend of mine that used to go here because it was close to my hotel. I do realize now why she chose to go somewhere else. The service seems okay, but in the end my nails looked shabby and unprofessional. Also, one of the worst pet peeves (FYI: everyone hates this): talking in another language right in front of my face while you're doing my nails. I used Axxis by OPI for my nails. The woman put so many layers of color on that there are now ridges and curves in my nails. Luckily it's a dark color so it didn't really show, but the black is starting to pull away around the edges (I just got these done 3 days ago) and it just looks botched. Got my feet done in black with glitter, but the glitter they used over the black causes my color to turn blue. UGH. On the surface this place seems fantastic, but when you leave it all falls apart. I love it! I'm a regular and they always do what I ask on my nails. I get the solar nails with more of a white tip and I've only had one person not do what I ask. I also LOVE their Pedis! I got a heart on my big toes and it looks fabulous!! They also serve you a beverage. I feel so pampered!! :) read more

They literally start peeling off from the bottom and every time I ran my fingers through my hair it kept pulling my hair. They came off within 2 days. I went back two weeks later for dip nails that thwh screwed up and Amy (who I love) tried to fix the problem but after having already spent 2 hrs there, I had to leave. I went back today, 3 days later and got kicked out by the guy manager there. If you want respect, I do not recommend going there. If possible, would hAve given 0 stars. Both me and my mother have previously been to this location, and the experience was great... so this time we came in with high hopes. We went this afternoon to get our nails done. When we arrived there was no wait time. We were standing and looking the the 20 different books they have for the color options for dip. My mom picked her color first and got seated immediately. I was still browsing and the women that did my nails came over and MADE me go have a seat, even though I'm not done looking for a color. I even told her that, she dragged me to her station and brought over one and a half of the books. So I was very limited on a color to choose from. Then while soaking my nails to get the previous dip off she was very rough with me. Almost yanking my hand out of the acetone and towards her and then just shoving my hand back in the bowl. I guess I made her upset because of how I responded back to her when she forced me to sit at her station instead of letting me choose a color. I've never been to a nail salon where the person doing my nails is just that rude and rough with me and my hands. Then my mom got done before me she came and sat next to me, the young girl that did hers just hurried up and rushed on getting her nails done, she didn't even clean them.. my mom had gunk ALLL underneath on each single nail. Not to mention had all this funk on her hands from when she had her hands in the acetone to remove the previous dip. So while sitting next to me my mom started to clean it herself and the girl came back over and had attitude and decided to clean them for her but told my mom next time she had to get a manicure and then they will do the dip because this is all from how bad her cuticles our.. what?!? It's clearly because of her doing a shitty job. My lady finished mine, they look great but my experience with her was horrible. When I checked out I was told my total was going to be $40-$45 instead of $35 like the owners wife told me last time I was their... so I questioned it and my nail tech told the guy it was because of my shape. I did not do tips they are my REAL nail and I had her slightly round them. So I brought that up and told them that's crazy. She was just trying to charge extra because she was in a mood and was pissy. The guy kept telling me don't worry about it I charge you the $35. I left no tip what so ever. I will not "reward" that behavior we received. This place used to be the best nail place to go to... I now fully understand why the ratings have dropped drastically. This place is really bad. Had my nails done by a Male (which I don't like) but was told it would be ok and he was the only one available. Went against my own judgment and tried him anyway but he did such a horrible job and when I said I was dissatisfied, they had the same guy keep redoing the nails and he was frustrated and I was frustrated and I just decided to leave it alone but I was so dissatisfied with my nails, I just had them redone at another place a couple days later. My daughter and I went to Layla's to get pedicures and our eyebrows/lip waxed. The place looked a little dirty, and very disorganized (like the chairs the techs sit on were left in the aisles, just lots of clutter) They seemed to get busy right after we sat down. And I guess there was confusion on which tech was to take which guest, so there was a lot of loud back and forth talking between a few ladies. Raised voices is not what I would call a relaxing environment. The lady that did my daughter's pedi rushed through her service, even skipped trimming the cuticle. Very disappointing. My tech did a fairly good job; however, when she reached in her bucket to pull out the tools, she just sprayed them off. They are not using clean, sanitized tools. And yes, I let her use it because I didn't quite register in my head. We each had the $35 Layla Pedi. Waxing was $12 each for brow and lip. My daughter was especially happy with the lady that did her waxing. When checking out, they gave us little Vietnamese snack cakes, which is a nice touch. I used to frequent this place a lot a few years ago and always liked the service. I think management has changed and while they made improvements to the appearance of the facility, the service has suffered. Disappointing. read more

I have a regular wax salon that I go to but she is out of the way. I was in Mesquite having my dog groomed and had some time to kill before going back to Dallas. I decided to get my underarms waxed to save some time instead making an appt with my regular girl later this wk. What a mistake. I walked in, they are pretty much packed ( day before Thanksgiving) so nobody asks me what service I need. A girl in the back of the room doing someones nails asks me what I need. I dont want to yell across 20 women that I need my underarms waxed. I walk over to her and tell her I need a wax. She tells me to go that room and barely points in that direction. I go in that room and wait. Another girl comes in and asks me what I want. She had no idea I've been waiting for an underarm wax. She is done in 3 minutes. She treated me like a turkey shes throwing across the kitchen counter. She grabbed my arm to pull it up to slap some lotion on my underarm when she was done. I mean seriously! I ask her for a mirror ( I want to make sure she got everything!) She pulls open a drawer and knocks everything to the floor. She asks me if I can use the mirror on the wall. Shes short and I'm short, she cant see her face in the mirror standing on her toes, how would I be able to see my armpit. She comes back with a little mirror. She did get the hair. I go out to pay. Nobody is there. She is sitting out there doing somebodys nails. She comes up to the register and checks me out. Its $15 for underarm wax. Salon quality with professionals usually run around $20-23. I would pay the extra $5 and not waste your time at this place. read more

I've been coming here for years.. Its close to my house and the eyebrow waxs are on point.. until today! It was the same girl but she was very upset. She told me to go to RM 1 like always but walked in on another girl getting her brows done, what if it was a bikini wax?!! Then I go to RM 2 and she walks in with a huff. 5Seconds later on older woman ( who also works there) comes in. Before she even starts her and the older woman start yelling at eachother in a different language. I'm on the table like, "what the he'll is going on?" The older woman walks out and the girl goes. " youre done". Doesn't look at me, just walks out in a storm... I recommended this place to everyone but screw that now. If you want to sit awkwardly on a table and hear two people yell at eachother, in a Different Lanuage, and get treated with no respect, this is your place. I walked out to the fornt, put the money on the counter and just walked out. They lost my business for good. I will necer go back into this place ever again. Worst customer service. I was yanked around during my pedicure instead of asking me to reposition myself. The person doing my nails did an ok job but my nails were lumpy.
