I really appreciated how efficient and helpful TSA was here, especially since I didn't have to take all my electronics out of my luggage and could just let everything pass through as is. There are some things that I really love about Terminal 6. All the gates for Alaska Airlines is right out the security. Starbucks and other eatery / snack stands are right nearby. But if you want to visit the Amex Centurion Lounge or anything other than the Alaska Lounge, you are in no luck. It's $60 something / hr to use the Alaska lounge if you don't have their pass or credit card or flying First Class. The Centurion Lounge is quite a hike and will require walking all the way to the Tom Bradley International Terminal which is nowhere close. The waiting area near the Terminal 6 Gates are crowded and unpleasant. Too bad there's no good dining options besides the lousy pizza or burger joints. read more

We took the 70 Express bus from Union Station to LAX for $12.50, and it ended up being a really nice, smooth ride. It was easy, affordable, and honestly less stressful than driving or dealing with rideshare traffic. Once at LAX, there were no lines and everything moved efficiently. I'd always heard how bad LAX could be, so I gave myself plenty of extra time--but it wasn't nearly as chaotic as expected. Overall, while LAX has a reputation for being difficult, this experience was surprisingly smooth. It's still a big, busy airport, but with the right timing and transportation choice, it can be much better than people make it out to be. read more

4th Star for it's continued efforts of improvement. Here is my story: I've been in and out of Terminal 6 numerous times. But at the present time, Terminal 6 is my "so called Hub" for my domestic travels. Terminal 6 is the home for Hawaiian and Alaska (airlines I frequent) followed by American to the left (Terminal 4 and 5) and United to the left (Terminal 6 and 8). Both American and United are carriers who take me East across the continent. The PROS 1. updated and current eateries 2. IF you have connecting flights, underground tunnels taking you to Terminals 5 and Terminal 7) so no need to deal with TSA once you are in Terminal 6 3. IF you have connecting flights, departure level corridors which take you to Terminals 5 or 7 also without having to check in with TSA again 4. Clean 5. Wifi charging ports available 6. Duty Free Shops inside terminal 6 The CONS 1. TSA, Clear, Global all need improvements in system and procedure 2. Baggage Claim area in Terminal 6 sometimes flow over to Terminal 5 Baggage Claim Carousels 3. Arrival and Departure Monitors need some work (been there regularly and each time, monitors down) But, a necessity if you're on Alaska or Hawaiian and a few other carriers Safe travels! read more

This terminal had Wolfgang Puck: the kitchen. Habit Burger. California Pizza kitchen and a bar, from what I recall. When you're waiting you usually want to eat. I was pleased with the choices. The prices are ridiculous but the food was cool. read more

Like many others, I try to avoid LAX whenever possible--but sometimes it's just unavoidable b/c LAX offers the most flight options at better price points. That said, when I do have to fly out of here (even for domestic flights), I make it a point to arrive 2-3 hours early. The unpredictability traffic, or parking availability and TSA line lengths is enough to make me anxious, and giving myself extra time just for peace of mind. Not much to add that hasn't already been said: the drop off/departure traffic is a nightmare all the time but worse during holiday season, and signage still somehow manages to be both overwhelming and unclear. And, I always somehow water filling stations until it's too late. But planning ahead and getting here A TAD early, I was able to grab one hour playing video games at Game Way lounge and later got ice coffee/fries at Habit while people watching. Hahahah read more

9/4/2025 - Upon arrival at the Terminal 6, the check in process is so cool, a friendly staff reissued my boarding pass with my Global Entrance privileges in 2 minutes so that I can proceed to the TSA PRECHK security gates quickly. Yes, I still had to take my belt and shoes off during the security check. Quickly walked to the gate 15 minutes before the boarding will take place. Wish list: This airline App will have the place to enter the Global Entrance number so that I would have to go to the TSA PRECHK area right away without first stopping at the check-in counter! read more

I fly through terminal 6 for Hawaiian which isn't terrible. Much better than when Hawaiian Airlines was part of Tom Bradley. My last trip was in October and now it's January 2026 and I find out that they got rid of one of the only hydration/water stations near gates 66-69??? Hello??? The habit didn't have any opportunity for water either so we walked all the back to where Starbucks was and found the only water station in the terminal post TSA. Air Canada, Alaska, Horizon and Hawaiian Airlines occupies T6. It recently got a major million dollar modernization to update the terminal creating more space, renovating the counter check-in areas, baggage claims, and concourses. TSA Precheck line went well. Immediately clearing security, you'll find Starbucks which was extremely packed. Don't worry there is also Peet's Coffee as an alternative. Many food options, retail stores and Duty Free before heading to your flight. If on a long layover, T6 has Alaska Airlines Lounge. I'm not quite sure if there is another airport lounge that would welcome AMEX credit card holders. read more

Arriving and departing LAX at terminal 6 was very easy, especially for Alaska Airlines flights. If you're departing LAX and coming on the free airport shuttle bus, terminal 6 is towards the very end and it wasn't super crowded or complicated in mid-December/weekdays. If arriving at LAX, public transportation system works very well too. I usually look for the free M bus going to LAX metro transit center bus in the bright pink pole area outside of baggage claim and ground transportation area. It takes me to my $1 bus ride if staying in Torrance. There weren't many people on it when departing LAX. Quick and easy. Terminal 6 has foods/beverages/shops, but their smoothie spot was around $16-$20 per smoothie. Extremely expensive here. You can grab a pizza at California Pizza Kitchen or other restaurants. Salads and sandwiches are roughly $10-$15 each, especially at delis/food markets. It really wasn't crowded this year, at least not in mid-December. No long lines. Terminal 6 turned out pretty good so far, but depending on the day/time, LAX does get the heavy thick layer of fog/mist here. read more

3 stars It's not the worst part of LAX I've flown out of, so 3 stars. My flight was with Alaskan and, at 5am, the lines were minimal. Getting through TSA was a breeze for me and the walk to my terminal was the shortest distance I've ever walked. This terminal did feel smaller than some others, but I'm not disappointed by it. Plus there are breakfast & coffee options open at that time. Starbucks, Peets, Wahoo!, The Habit, & CPK are here. I bought a premade, good-sized breakfast burrito from Off the Road (I think that's what the restaurant was called)...it was fairly priced as far as airport food goes ($12-something). This is an opinion on departing flights, not arrivals. read more

Good thing about this terminal, it's towards the end so leaving is easy. Bad thing, it's toward the end and getting there can be a bitch with traffic. You could cut through the middle as there's a road that leads there. We tend to always fly out of here as it's a main hub for Puerto Vallarta. The last time that I had flown out of terminal 6 was when Delta Airlines was in this terminal. I had booked my flight through Hawaiian Airlines, but the flight was operated by Alaska Airlines. With all of the recent renovations, this was one of the better terminals. The improvements made the place brighter and somewhat modern, but the old structure still remained. They do have some of the best food options at LAX such as The Habit and Wahoo's. read more

I think they need better signage here to show where the designated check in spot is. We ended up going to the nearest TSA checkpoint where we were dropped off by our shuttle and they ended up telling us we could go through there but would have to walk down to the correct gates. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because we got through security super quickly and finding where to go wasn't an issue after that. We flew Alaska Airlines to Cabo San Lucas and the terminal here is nice! They could use more coffee places within this section of the terminal because the lines are a nightmare! Way too many people trying to get a cup of coffee having to wait 30 minutes! Ridiculous! read more

I have been to Alaska's LAX terminal 6 before, actually recently, and it was very satisfying. Or was I asleep? Because this time, the experience was a fiasco. Let's give credit where it is due. Alaska has been doing very well in this airline space, conquering productive travel routes, at an impressive pace. However, the real litmus test of the all round fidelity of an airline's business is when you have to use more of their areas and actually move around. The restrooms at the terminal are small and there are lines. I recognize that other airlines also use this terminal, but I am specifically talking about the domain that is all Alaska, all gates are all Alaska. The food areas are jammed. And the gate areas clogged. Alaska also keeps changing gate numbers on numerous flights. Furthermore, the gate agents are always on the intercom, and that too loudly, one after the other. There is vocal overload. This time it was constant and goes on over and over and over again. Did the gate attendants drink too much coffee? All going on constantly over an hour before boarding time. 30 minutes before boarding I was getting close to a headache. Why are they so loud? Are all those of us sitting by the gates hearing impaired? The Alaska Airlines app compounded the misery. It started during online check in 24 hours before. They repeatedly ask for passport information (yes, I was flying international), but wouldn't take it, every field that you enter after a minute or two, it disappeared ....so a lot of reentry was involved with no success. After that, they ask you to scan the passport. That worked. Why not ask just for that scanning in the first place? The app also tells you that food is available for online pre ordering, but the system is clunky and doesn't put it through. To top it off, once on the aircraft, all of the stewards, lack customer service finesse. Just not a good experience. Or was it just a bad day? read more

Disorganized, understaffed, confusing--my first impression trying to check in at Alaska Airlines. Once you get through that mess to the security clearance area, it gets a bit better (except for the understaffed part). My carry-on was flagged to get looked at more closely but they had to stop using the xray machine to have the staff monitoring that move over to the closer inspection side. So that backs up the flow behind us... We wanted to get food at CPK before our 6-hr flight, and again not great. Used the QR code to order and pay online and then it tells you a pickup time at the counter. I go there at the designated time and it's not there, so i wait. I see several other people come and go to pick up their orders. After 10 min I ask a staff person if they could check on the status of mine. They look confused and start asking around. it turns out only my order was kept at a different counter where people check in to be seated at the restaurant. Random? The only reason i gave 2 stars rather than 1 was that the staff were friendly and trying to be helpful. The main critique is the poor organization overall. read more

Terminal 6 is one of the main terminals of LAX. Its the main departing terminal of Air Canada. They have a few check-in kiosk for faster service. Moreover, T6 has some of the friendliest, competent and professional staff and security. Duty free, souvenir shops and other food stores are available. T6 is clean, spacious albeit need a make over because you'll see some of the rugs in the boarding gates are old. Overall, it's just an okay terminal. read more

I Typically fly out of terminal 3 with Delta so it was the first time I've flown out of this terminal 6 in many years. Love the remodel they did the terminal is spacious, well lit, and has plenty of food and seating options. Even for my 6 am flight there were multiple options for coffee and food which was a welcome change. If you have one of the higher number gates just know it will be a trek so give yourself plenty of time to get from security to your gate. The downside to being in this terminal if you're catching an Uber/Lyft is the buses that take you there have to stop at all the other terminals first and may be too full to pick up anyone by that time and the walk is difficult from that point. read more

The ground staff that worked today (12/8/2025) at T6 LAX under Alaska Airlines specifically in the tag/bag drop area. The bag drop process was horrible, the Alaska on the ground team were pretty rude. After I tagged my bag I walked to the bag drop and the rep stopped me and refused to let me pass without seeing the tag on my bag. He was very condescending and rude, the opposite of helpful. Thinking towards providing better service, retraining the team to approach people with kindness would be a big improvement. read more

Checked in to Terminal 6 for my Air Canada flight. There's not that much food options here like at terminals with one of the major Airlines. There isn't that much seating available in the Gate area. But you can always sit at one of the other gates as there doesn't seem to be that many flights for Air Canada. Minus the amenities, it's a pretty quiet and lower traffic terminal. read more

Outstanding new wing for Alaska Air to fly from. Lots of food amenities and gift shops to browse prior to leaving LA to your future destination. Now the Starbucks is slow and I mean SLOW so beware cause you may miss your boarding time if your grabbing a tasty beverage. Friday at 11:00AM the terminal was open and not crowded. We got through TSA in 5 minutes! The TSA agents were also nice. Wow. Not bad.

2 hours away from boarding, my party of 6 wanted to sit and grub somethin'- somethin' since... what else is there to do... ... and we haven't had breakfast, and with hunger pangs kinda' creepin' through, we ended up at the first sorta appealing place we saw: The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck. Not that it was bad (that's for another review) but I should have followed my instincts and did a quick walk through first because there are options galore! Wahoo's, The Habit, Golden Road, etc... different from the usual T1 eateries I'm more used to. And unlike T1, it's great to know there's a Duty Free up here! I'm always down for bargain buys on normally pricey items! The ONLY thing I didn't like...?! Kinda cramped, overall. I wonder if they plan on doing a little TLC and open it up a bit more... This terminal is a joke.... it is so crammed and the boarding room for each gate is super tiny and close to each other. How do you expect 30-60 people to board with such tiny space next to each other? And they seemed to book all Alaska going everywhere at the same time! That means same boarding and same craziness. Secondly, this terminal is still under construction! So you really need to trek your way to baggage claim. I didnt mind the walking but what I minded was the ridiculous way of getting to uber and Lyft! IT was our first time having to get Lyft from LAX. We avoided LAX whenever we can and chose SNA or LGB any other times, but International you really can't avoid LAX. And international with domestic connection (not by personal choice but by force, your airline does not have direct), then you're just at the mercy of luck! It's a treasure hunt from deboarding to luggage and to shuttle to taxi. The only thing I can offer as tips is, pack extra patience with you when you have to deal with Alaska, Terminal 6, LAX, or Lyft/Uber! read more

I want to give a shout out to LAX mobility assistance. LAX is a large airport and it can feel intimidating trying to navigate, especially for someone with limited mobility in a time crunch- with a short layover, or in a rush to get to one's gate. When I am unable to walk from one gate to another terminal/gate, the mobility assistant is present with a wheelchair when I arrive. They are so friendly and vital in helping those who are not ambulatory find and arrive at their destination. They will stop to wait for bathroom use or to allow me to acquire food. I am so grateful to these wonderful people who do the physical labor and display such kindness- making a potentially stressful situation, stress-free, efficient and pleasant. read more
