We always find lots of treasures at the Antique Mall and the is always someone there to answer questions.

It's actually called Lawrence Antique Mall. I spent a good amount of time in here and it was busy because it was on a Saturday after the Christmas Parade. Place has 3 floors total full of a variety of items to choose. Some areas you could barely walk through. It was difficult to find anyone to help you. I found several items with no prices on them. One item I really wanted, so they called the dealer and no answer. So they offered to take my number and hold it until further notice. Most of the things were over priced. On 1 item I asked if they would take a little less and made an offer, but she said I can only go 10% less because it's rare. I said I would take it. Then she went to take the tag off and said I can't do 10% because it's less then $30.00. The item was $28.00, so only $2.00 from receiving the 10% discount. Yes, I went ahead and bought it only because it's a Christmas present! Just the principle of the situation. Before I paid I simply asked if they charged a transaction fee if I used a debit or credit card. I was told that they charge 3% extra. I was just a little short of having enough cash, so I had to go the other route. After looking my receipt (I always ask for one) over and comparing it to my merchandise prices it was incorrect. In fact they charged 4% transaction fee. So my $28.00 "rare" item turned into being $29.12 plus 9.3% tax on top of that price, just an example. Another problem was the bathroom was closed or out of order. I'm not sure if it was really out of order or if they just didn't want all the people using it? If you needed to use the restroom it was like 10 blocks one way down the street! Needless to say I wasn't real happy with my overall experience here. read more

Solid antique store full of many booths crammed into 3 levels of great fun to explore. I spent a good majority of my day here. Everything is organized and not too hard to navigate. The third floor is small but worth checking out but use caution going up that odd stairwell. Overall you can find great finds like any other antique store here read more

It would takes months and months to fully sift through everything they have to offer at this two story business. Clothes, books, glassware, jewelry, kitchenware, sports memorabilia... there is no way to even name all the treasures found here. I love going to this store. There is always so much to find. It's perfect for my ADD. Sparkles, trinkets, shiny things and beloved trinkets from the past. I love finding things that remind me of my childhood. It takes me back to those carefree days. The staff is always nice and helpful. The last time I was there a very nice young lady helped me sort through a huge box of jewelry. She helped me find the perfect gem. Once they even helped me retrieve and box up a surprise gift for my mom while she was in the store. The only downside is that parking downtown can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes you can easily find a space while at other times you have to play circle-the-block. In the end, it's all good even if you have to park a bit further away. The store is nicely set up and it is easy to navigate through the booths. This store is a lovely way to pass an afternoon or to find some memento you have not thought about in quite awhile. This store is a true wonderland of treasures from the past. read more

This place has SO MUCH Stuff but it's hit or miss. Sometimes you find that booth that is a hidden gem that has amazing stuff. I especially love the upper level with all the Mid Century goodies. I will say this though, there is a booth in the way back corner left that has so many amazing old photos and books. However, way overpriced. They want to charge $90 for a German bible... um no. If only they would be realistic and price their stuff to actually sell and not sit on the shelf for years. If they marked their books down to $10 a piece, I would easily spend $100. The staff is just OK... nothing particularly friendly about them. read more

This was more like a well organized flea market or thrift store with old stuff. If you're looking for a tiara, look here. Lots of smalls. Downtown Parking must be paid through an app, which was frustrating, so be prepared if coming from out of town. read more

My last trip to the Lawrence Antique Mall was because we were on a quest to find pink flamingos for our front lawn Christmas display. True, one can easily find pink flamingos on line for pennies, but we had seen a pair at the Antique Mall two weeks prior and why not recycle them so as to make our carbon footprint that much more dainty (I'm a shoe size 6.5 by the way in case anyone is looking to hand off a pair of Louboutins. What? I would hate to think of those in a landfill somewhere). Sadly, someone had snatched up those darned flamingos we had spied in one of the booths. With woe in our hearts and tears in our eyes, we dragged ourselves past the 80s Oreo Christmas tins, 50s Coca Cola aluminum trays, the ratty hats and intriguing oil painting of the Wizard of Oz. Suddenly we came upon wondrous finds: not one but TWO rubber faced stuffed Santas, the kind that children freaking CUDDLED WITH in the 1950s (no wonder Baby Boomers are so fucked up), and what's more, they both had the most delightfully demonic expressions on their faces. One was on the petite side, but I figured it would fit better in my dilapidated antique baby carriage that I'd dragged with me half across the country in the back of a UHaul last spring. We also found an equally creepy elf for 2 dollars. We snatched up the small Santa (12 dollars) and the elf and I'm still kind of kicking myself for not getting the big Santa (20 dollars). No lawn is complete without two or more Santas, especially if one can find two Virgin Marys to dress up as Mrs. Claus. So, this is the type of thing that the Antique Mall is great for: you go in, expecting to buy one thing that you had JUST SEEN one hour, one day or one month ago, and inevitably some other lucky person had had the same idea as you, but got there first. And so, you find something else that makes you just as happy. FYI, our friend donated 2 pink flamingos and I found 6 more online (6 bucks a pair! Glad to see that although these are now trendy, they are still cheap) and those were pulling Evil Santa's baby carriage/sleigh on our lawn (festooned with those giant multi colored bulbs, of course) this past Christmas season. read more

My husband & I were visiting Lawrence and while there, purchased a new-in-box turntable, along with several albums. We were flying so packed it home in an additional suitcase. When we got back to CA and hooked it up, it didn't play. After trouble-shooting what we could, we called the Antique Mall and explained the situation. Without hesitation, the gentleman helping us said, "Well the first thing we need to do is refund your money". He was so kind and understanding about the situation, and I wish I remembered his name. I was surprised and grateful for his kindness. When we are back in Lawrence, which we will be, Lawrence Antique Mall will be one of our first stops. read more

Antique Mall is two things--the parts of its name. Antique--the place has antiques and enough goodies to make you treasure trollers and hunters browsing for a good few hours. Mall--unfortunately its very mall-esque with a lot of booths often including crap that is more flea market worthy than an antiquity. The yingyang of the Antique Mall sets me up for a return. I found some nice crocks, stoneware bowls and other kitchen favorites. I definitely want to spend some more time and pick through the booths. Antique tip: The good stuff is often always overlooked and sitting inside booths filled with merchandise, behind other pieces, or on the floor. I found some good stuff that was priced fairly well for what I've paid for other things and that's pretty satisfying. With two levels it's a big space, but it still is about quality over quantity in the antique game. It's just with so much quantity, it takes time to find the quality. So we'll call this one a comeback. read more

The Antique Mall of Lawrence is truly a gem of the downtown area. This antique store has everything you could think or dream of, from the merchandise, to the ambience, and the staff. To start, the minute you walk in you are immediately placed with the presence of artifacts from the past. Items spanning generations, from 1900's photographs to Draco Malfoy stickers. In particular, my friends and I were entranced by a case of crowns on the main floor, each crown was embellished with rare gems, all costing around sixty dollars. Walking around the store it is very easy to fall or bump into things and or people with the amount of clutter they have in the first two levels. As for the top level, it was easy to maneuver around the 1960's furniture, old percussion instruments, and of course creepy baby dolls. I recommend visiting the newspapers on the top floor. The building itself is quite delightful but the smell is not. While the top floor smelled fine, your run of the mill thrift store sent, the bottom floor had a pungent smell, but was expected considering the shoes and old clothes. However, the atmosphere itself was really neat. Each item seemed to tell a story, from a stuffed duck missing its hat, to a painting of a sad woman, to a unopened 2011 Holiday Barbie doll. Finally the staff themselves, most of them older, were very kind and caring to the customers. On each floor there was a quaint table with hand sanitizer, a dinner bell, and a handwritten sign that stated, 'ring for service!', anytime the bell was rung a sweet lady would run down the stairs to help you at a moment's notice. The employees would also hold items for you, if you had your hands full or needed to run to the bathroom. Overall, the Antique Mall is a unique and interesting place to spend hours at, from the merchandise, to the ambience, and of course the staff, I can't wait for my next visit to The Antique Mall! read more

Apparantly, shaming a customer for not having cash is common here. If you want to be cash only, then remove the credit card machines from your counter. I was EXTREMELY embarrassed today for being shamed by the two people cashing me out. When I asked for someone else to serve me, the second person shamed me as well. Today, I only spent $11 but last month I spent over $100. Wont be returning. By the way, I donated my cash to the fire department standing on the streets as they do every Labor Day! read more

Accomplished our goal of finding a small wooden kitchen table and two chairs for $40 and $20. Wish I had 3 more hours to really dig in but not this time. Staff are always super nice and helpful. Never change! Stay the way you are! read more

let me guide you through the dark and mysterious world of the antique mall. well. it's actually not that dark or mysterious. and if you are confused, the people at the front desk are pretty good at de-mystyfying. i will say, staying in here too long does a pretty good job of depressing me. i don't know if it's the dismal oldies pop songs or the poor lighting downstairs... or the topless sun-bather salt and pepper shakers, for that matter... but don't let my apprehension dissuade you! there are some occasional gems here--- you just have to familiarize yourself with the best booths. this might take time. and if you, like me, cannot stand the soundtrack, it may take multiple visits. that's ok. antique mall will wait for you. looking for cowboy boots? there's a booth for that. anything with a parrot on it? it's your lucky day. coors light earrings or PBR lamps, rugs, trashcans? oh... yes. lockets? check the booth on the left of the front entrance. at least one taxidermy-ed duck? uh-huh. fur collars and little white gloves? of course. pillbox hats? you've come to a prime lawrence location. unsettling evidence of racist/sexist reading material, toys, clothing, memorabilia? you bet. lawrence has its fair share of "antique" stores, but this one is pretty accessible (regular hours, convenient location, variety of sellers) so you have few excuses to not stop by some time. maybe you'll find that stuffed duck you've been looking for everywhere. read more

Went there this weekend for the first time in several years. It was a lot junkier than I remember it being, but the wife assures me that it was just as junky when we were there last. There are the occasional finds for a decent price, but it all feels like a garage sale. My favorite part is the Beanie Babies locked up tight as if someone is waiting for that million dollar investment to finally pay off. I went there looking for one thing, and it was gone. Maybe the inventory does actually move through there. Kind of disappointed with the trip, but I will definitely be back. read more

I was very unimpressed with their selection, high prices, and lack of staff organization. They made it a bother to even ask for a cage to be opened. I have seen better stores. read more

As an antique mall I think only antiques should be there...maybe I'm a stickler but the antique malls are usually half and half for me. Once you get past some of the stuff there are some cool smaller finds nothing here will say take me home with its price.. sadly as most anique stores are. But you always have to dig for the treasure right? read more

While my husband and his friend were getting their hair did (hehehe), I wandered into the Lawrence Antique Mall. There are dozens of booths of really crazy crap and nifty junk. For the most part, the prices were reasonable. I stopped myself from buying stuff that I didn't need by envisioning it in my house. About a half an hour into my visit, I purchased a pair of vintage dressed-up dog photographs from the 1950's. Well worth the $27 for the smile they gave me. Worth checking out for ideas and the much-needed tomfoolery in your life. read more

Visiting from Tulsa, my daughter and I wondered in the Antique Mall while waiting to have dinner with friends. I am a big fan of antiquing and being a former residence of Lawrence, I was not expecting to be treated like I was more of a nuisance than a customer. I bought a record and a sticker that added up to only $3.50. I did not have cash on me so I pulled out my debit card and the cashier looked at me like I was trying to steal something. She asked me in a very rude and snarky tone "You don't have cash?" I said "No, I don't". Her response was "We don't usually take cards under $5.00 but we'll do it this time" That fact did not bother me, because I know some places don't take cards unless its over a certain amount, and that's ok. What bothered me was her attitude and her bad vibe. Maybe it was my traditional Native American earrings I was wearing or the fact that they were about to close for the evening, who knows and who cares. I can go to any Antique Mall or small mom and pops store in Tulsa, Oklahoma and it wouldn't matter, they are very grateful, you ever considered walking in their store. I am deeply disappointed in they way I was talked down to in that store. I will most likely never set foot in there again. read more

My favorite antique mall! I've been shopping here for YEARS. I've come out of here with everything ranging from furniture to books to jewelry. It's a massive location with upstairs and downstairs. The booths are filled to the brim with items. It's a little overwhelming sifting through all the stuff, but you're sure to find something that suits your fancy. read more
