This is one of THE BEST vintage stores in Lawrence! Come play dress up for not too much money!

This is an IMPECCABLE vintage store in Kansas. The quaint town of Lawrence is not just a college town - it's a home for hipsters, art-lovers, people who want to live an expressive and colorful existence. The high quality of diverse clothing available at this store makes you feel incredible. A new style with recycled clothing is the biggest win!

Wild Man Vintage finally gave me some hope for the fading vintage shops I keep seeing on my travels. With the interwebs and Ebay, great vintage threads are tough to find, especially T's--my poison. The WMV brought me closer to "buttery-softness" than any other vintage shop in the KC area. A few tag grabs showed Screen Stars and Sportswear, while others were completely unreadable. That's a triple threat you know will bring you quality. The prices are downright silly. Most of the T's, jackets and shirts can be had for $15 or less! I also really enjoyed the back shoe section--a shoe boutique if you will. You'll have a little privacy from the main sales floor and find some great boots. I know I did. I almost forced myself to fit into these size 10 1/2 or 11 vintage Vibram ankle boots (the size was already worn off on the inside) Unfortunately, bloody toes and foot cramps held me back from making an impulse buy.

The name Wild Man Vintage implies vintage style and guys go hand in hand. That's funny, because I usually think of women when I imagine the artfully dressed vintage icon. Vintage culture prides itself on turning fashion on its head, so I guess such a store named after a wild man makes sense. Instead of inspiration, Wild Man's walls and store displays just seem weird to be weird. Since the inventory is smaller than, say, Arizona Trading Company's, Wild Man is less of a one-stop shop and more of a "maybe I can find a really cheap pair of jeans" place anyway. If nothing else, Wild Man seems to completely embrace the vintage ideal of individualism at any cost. Even if it costs them customers.

Very nice place. All items are in that perfect retro-revive style that is coming back strong. Good slim ties as well.

This store is rich with memory, funk, and positive vibes. Each items appears to be selected and presented with great care. The place has a friendly, eclectic staff. The clothes and accessories all cater to the perfect retro-revive style. In the t-shirt sections, there are a few new items from a tasteful shirt printer that blend perfectly with the older fashions on the rack. I got a few slim ties and a retro Vodka shirt. Will definitely keep this place in mind the next time I need to slake my thirst for vintage goods.

I rolled in with over a dozen pair of jeans--including two never-worn, high-end designer divas that had been haunting the "maybe someday" section of my closet. You know the ones: too expensive to wear, too guilty to toss. At this point, they were basically emotional support denim. Fifteen minutes later, I walked out with cold hard cash. Real, actual Andrew Jacksons. No paperwork. No judgment. No shady consignment vibes. Just: "Thanks, here's your money." Boom. Done. Easiest hustle I've ever pulled. They even offered me 10% more in store credit--and yeah, I considered it. There were some fire pieces that almost had me breaking my own rules. But let's be real: my closet is already a crime scene. The mission was purge, not relapse. Bottom line? If your closet's bursting with regrets and "what was I thinking" buys, ATC is your no-BS exit strategy. Cool staff, smooth process, no pressure. I'll be back--after I survive round two of the great denim exorcism.

I have brought in 4-6 things in and made a a fair amount of cash and another time with 3 bag loads and given lunch money. Staff is very immature, can be downright rude and tacky and another time be respectful and courteous. But the one thing that just really ticks me off is the fact that they want your clothes to be clean, in good condition and folded but if you're left with anything they won't take, they wad the item up and are in a heap in the bag like they mean for it to look like a trash bag! I prepare all my things for observation with care and its so disrespectful. I'm not saying only once, its everytime. Second hand store or not, they could show a bit more class.

At Eccentricity they try to mesh it all into one style, or at least into one store. What struck me first was the color coded sections, which I actually like because I'm picky. So I went to my preferred color choice and started combing the racks to see what they had to offer. Lots of jersey cotton designed into pretty, fitted tees and dresses. More modern selection of jackets and tights. They cross the line on some items, but they do call themselves "eccentric" so cowboy boots with plaid and fringe are A-Ok with them. They also experiment with animal prints (something that I've never gotten), and really colorful accessories (I mean, REALLY colorful stuff that might even make a gay man cringe). But overall, they displayed a nice selection of women's clothing that was eclectic and accessible to most. I also dug their jewelry section because it was a little different than most, focusing on chunky chains and big pendants. They didn't look cheap (well, they weren't cheap) but affordable and vintage looking.
