This store is so appropriate in a college town like Lawrence. An Urban Outfitters knockoff, Hobbs…read moresucceeds in finding a style meant for the hip college kids that are looking for sarcastic, ironically cool and tragically stylish stuff to fill their material thirst. Really, Hobbs has all their bases covered with witty books, useless cool must-haves like nose cups (when you drink it looks like you have a funny nose) or flasks hidden inside a diary book, and of course, clothes. The women's section featuring styles modeled after Paris Hilton and the guy's much more cool and metro. They even have a baby section, with onesie's from American Apparel and and Paul Frank. Quirky and cute, this place is fun to browse. If you have a younger sibling that's high school or college age, I'm sure there's something you can pick up for them. Otherwise, shop with an open mind and you'll crack yourself up trying not to laugh out loud.

I went in there, looking for a brake shoe retainer clip. The girl behind the counter had no idea…read morewhat I was talking about, and kept asking me for my model of vehicle, which is a 1976 Triump Spitfire 1500. Obviously, I own an antique vehicle. I was looking for a three cent part. This girl had no idea what I was talking about, let alone the issue I was having. she was more concerned whether or not I had cut in line , then the issue at hand. I went down the street, where I should've gone in the first place, and the 20 something kid at that store took me directly to the part I needed, and I was in and out in less than five minutes. The girl behind the counter at O'Reilly clearly did not have the tools in her toolbox to assist me, let alone anyone in the general public, aside from scanning a barcode. I won't be returning.

I ask a young woman who was playing on her phone for a couple of different tools that I'm looking for after I've been up and down the aisle for a while, not able to find any. She says go down aisle three or down there. She quickly returns to her phone to play on her phone or text or whatever she was doing. My question is why is she working here when she doesn't even wanna work there? Well, O'Reillys you lost a long time customer. Maybe you should've learned to manage your people better.

I recently purchased a 2013 Toyota and due to the age of the vehicle, needed to have the stereo…read morehead unit (and backup camera) replaced (service requested); they were out of updates from Toyota. We went in to make an appt, and I was surprised to see not only a vacation-style vibe decor, but also a comfy waiting area- which we didn't end up needing. The staff were friendly, very knowledgable, and had multiple options at different price points. We chose the best one for us, got a price, and came back on appt day. The service was completed in a few hours, right on schedule, and the price they quoted was correct in the end. Additionally, the staffer who returned our key took the time to sit in the car with me (it's my vehicle to drive but my husband is the one who knows the technical stuff) and show me how all the new features worked, and answer all my questions. I am so happy with the new stereo & backup camera, the price, the service and the quality if the work. I had this done a month ago, and everything is working flawlessly. I cannot recommend this company enough! If you're in the area and need any sound system work done, you cannot go wrong with Sound Innovations.
