My fav place to shop for that one of a kind gift. The store windows are always an adventure. That whole place is an adventure.

Men's Wearhouse

Men's Wearhouse

I sent the boy in to this Men's Wearhouse location in order to get some new professional wear for…read moreupcoming interviews and the like. He was able to navigate this on his own, which is usually not the easiest thing for him to do, and he had great selection & pretty good service. While the prices of most things are going up, he stepped out of this location with a pair of new dress shirts and a pair of slacks that ran him over $220. That's a little steep, and while he got things that fit him (teen bodies change a lot), it's still a little much. I was certainly happy with the look(s) that he got with his new threads, and while I didn't mind paying the bill, I still think we could've gotten similar products for less elsewhere. That is not to say that Men's Wearhouse does not provide value; it's more to say that you're going to pay a little bit more where the selection is broad. Easy to park, easy to get in, good service, and lots of selection, and a good experience overall. The boy ended up looking dapper and landing an internship, and like I told him, when you look confident, you feel confident. Men's Wearhouse definitely helped with that.

We returned the following Saturday to pick up my boyfriend's tuxedo for the Gala. As he goes to try…read morethe tuxedo on, we realize the suit jacket and pants are two completely different colors and no vest was included (though it was requested). At this point, my boyfriend questioned if the sales associate did this out of spite since we chose to rent a tuxedo instead of buy a suit from him. While this was extremely frustrating, the store Manager Keegan did everything he could to correct the situation. First he located pants that were the correct fit and color to pair with the suit coat, then he had his in-store alterations person make the adjustments onsite, and he was able to locate a completely different vest and tie for the ensemble that still paired well with my gala gown. We greatly appreciate Keegan and all he did to assist us, but wish we would have had a decent experience in the first place with the original sales associate.

Wild Territory Science and Nature Store

Wild Territory Science and Nature Store

Is there a scientist in your life? An inquisitive child? Or do you yourself have an insatiable…read morethirst for knowledge? If so, Wild Territory is the store for you. There's something for everyone from gemologists to astronomers at Wild Territory. I think of it as kind of a Discovery Channel store with a little more emphasis on real science and some kitsch throw in for good measure. Purely science-minded individuals probably disapprove when time pieces and the musculoskeletal system are combined, but if you think skeleton clocks are cool Wild Territory will be right up your alley. Personally, I don't think learning is ever a bad idea. After all I'm no scientist so I must have picked up the word musculoskeletal somewhere! If you can pick up a gift or something for yourself at Wild Territory that expands your mind - even a little bit - it could replace some of those dendrites you killed down the street at Free State, or the Granada, or Jackpot Saloon ...

Yes, I bought a ring with a beetle enclosed in the plastic from this store. And I lost it, and then…read moreI went back and bought a ring with an ant enclosed in the plastic. I still have that one. I think next time I'll buy earrings that match the ring. I stop here every time I visit Lawrence. I like this store. It has not only bugs enclosed in plastic to wear as jewelry but it has sterling silver bugs as well, for earrings, and rings, and charms keychains. Infact, it has all kinds of stuff, not just buggy things. They have human parts, as well, like the brain jello mold I bought here. While I like the fossils and rocks, and body parts and some bugs, I also enjoy the oddities such as a cricket sucker.I'd never eat a cricket sucker, but I suppose it has protein in it. It's really a cool store, no where else like it. I visit this store if I had work in Lawrence, or if I happen to visit Lawrence, on Mass street. Mass. Street is my mega shopping extravaganza, and this is one of the awesome stores available.
