We contacted them when we purchased a home in the foothills and our insurance company told us that we needed a larger fire defensible zone. Ivan was wonderful and wrote up a detailed fire mitigation and defensible space assessment that I could present to my insurance company. This was accepted and certainly helped us not have to cut down all of our trees, just the ones Ivan had pointed out. We agreed upon a price and day with Good People Tree Service, they showed up on the day and on time. They were able to cut down 6 trees and trimmed some branches all in one day. They also cleaned up pretty good after and left our patio area clean and clear of any debris. I would 100% recommend them. I have to admit, I contacted them before Covid-19 really hit, they were flexible and willing and able to work around any personal / financial issues we were facing at the time. Just the fact that Ivan was so nice and understanding through this whole processes really makes it SO easy to recommend them. One other thing, these guys are true Arborists. Good People genuinely cares about trees and the health of them. Unbeknownst to me, I have a very healthy, old Ponderosa Pine next to my house. I wasn't sure if we should have it taken down, knowing little about trees, because it was so close to the house. Good People said that they would cut down the tree IF need be but they would hate to. They could of convinced us, pretty easily, to take it down and they would of earned more money by doing so. They said that due to the health and age they would prefer not to take this tree down. Which I really enjoyed hearing. We didn't do all the mitigation recommendations due to the cost of everything that needed to get done. Maybe next summer or the summer after, we'll have them comeback out here and finish up the rest. They did the immediate cleanup up and came back for the large removal project. It could not have gone better. Fast forward 2 years and we needed to remove our last 2 conifers for wildfire mitigation in a high risk neighborhood. I called them back as I feel they are the best arborists around. Locally owned and staffed. The set up for the project went well, the timing perfect for summer between the move out of last year's students and the arrival for the upcoming year. The house closest to the tree is the house next to ours which is student rental home for CU off campus housing. When they are between summer moves , there are fewer parking issues as well as not interfering with their lifestyle. The team came this morning m, right in time, having procured the no parking signs for such work and having the utilities locators done in advance. The work when exceeding well, removing the already broken spruce and the aging and badly place piñon pine, too close to our house. The team of arborists were amazing. I would certainly use them again if I could but I am out of trees that will ever need removals. Call this place first if you are ever in need. In Colorado, we are facing terrible wildfire risks and all communities will need evaluation. In this area, Blue River can't be beat.
