The atmosphere was everything you would want in a spa. It was clean, with great decor. Valerie was especially helpful with my skin analysis. I have been going to this salon for many years off and on to see one particular stylist who is phenomenal. Unfortunately, everyone else thinks she is great too so now it's almost impossible to get in to see her, which is great and well deserved for her but hard for me. So I decided to make an appointment with their "color expert". I don't know if she was having a bad day, or if she's always this way, but she was one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. I would recommend this salon to anyone getting a haircut or color. I have not tried any spa treatments yet but I plan to. First of all, the hair wash and scalp massage is sooo relaxing and the staff is very friendly. Linsey has been cutting my hair and when I went in this last time I told her I was wanting to go very short this time and I have had long hair for the last 12 years so I was nervous but she really listened to what I wanted. I stumbled upon this salon after many years of trying to find somewhere in Clear Lake that could handle my hair. I have now been going their for a year noW and they are AMAZING! I get compliments on my hair all the time now. My hair used to always be frizzy but they did a keratin treatment and now it is smooth and I can blow dry it in about 15 minutes. I went in to Lavish to have a bayalage look done to my hair. I had this done to my hair about a year ago and it was extremely grown out. My usual hair stylist works in Austin and once I moved to Houston it was hard to plan a trip to go see her. After hearing good things about Lavish, I decided to give it a try. I had pictures of exactly how I wanted my hair to look (even pictures of my own hair when it was originally done). The stylist was very nice and seemed to understand exactly what I wanted. Once my hair was being blow dried, I noticed my hair looked orange. My biggest concern was my hair turning out orange. My hair is naturally very dark hair and picks up lots of red/orange tones. However, past stylist's have been able to leave my hair looking more ashy without any orange tones. I was skeptical when the stylist told me she did not want to use bleach on my hair. She said she felt she could color my hair by simply using a dye. This surprised me, because past stylist have told me it is impossible to achieve the tone I want without bleach. After my hair was styled, the stylist herself admitted it looked orange and offered to fix it later in the week. I also want to mention that my hair ended up looking ombre and not at all like a bayalage technique was used. I did return and my hair did not get much better. It is definitely less orange, but is nothing like what I asked for. Although the staff and stylist were very sweet and accommodating, I was disappointed overall. For the amount of money I paid, my hair should have looked at least similar to what I asked for. I am not one to leave reviews, but I would hate for this to happen to someone else with dark hair looking to get ashy toned highlights or bayalage. read more

I had done some research on salons in the area and decided to try out Lavish Salon. When I called and made my appointment I told the receptionist that I am of mixed ethnicity and I needed someone who could handle my curly/wavy/sometimes puffball hair. She recommended Ana to be my stylist. I had recently gotten my haircut a few months ago at another salon and the stylist damaged my hair so incredibly bad. I told Ana my concerns and she recommended that we cut at least 2 inches off. I was very hesitant because my hair was already shorter than I would have liked but I trust her. She started by giving the most amazing scalp massage and then proceeded with the wash and cut etc. My hair looks much healthier and she gave me tips to help remedy my damaged hair and to help it grow. I loved the fact that she didn't try to start up that awkward small talk that some hair stylist do. Another plus was that I was in and out within an hour. RIP OFF! $45 for a cut, $65 for one color. They have a $25 coupon for "first time customers" but the cashier waited until I was in the bathroom and asked my sister to pay for it. My sisters knew I was going on interviews and said they would treat me to a cut and color. So I didn't pay for it personally (but I did with the terrible cut!); I get very upset when someone insults my intelligence & tries to pull one over on me, my family, friends, etc. I hate lies, shady deals, etc. When I asked them about the coupon they said "Oh, the sale has already been closed out, you'll have to use the $25 coupon next time." REALLY?, it's for "first time customers" only, next time I won't be a first time customer! The color was good, but Linsey did a terrible job on the cut, it was supposed to be layered...NOT! They called me a week later asking about my experience and I mentioned the cut wasn't right. "Oh, well I'll tell the manager and she'll get you back in here for a re-cut" IT NEVER HAPPENED! I've been to lavish several times before for hair color, cut and style. Rachael has done a great job on cut and color. My other visits have been spotty at best. Today was unpleasant. I arrived on time, got checked in, was told to put on a color smock then I waited for 25 minutes without anyone coming by to let me know my stylist was running late, offering me a drink etc.. My stylist arrived and apologized for being late. She colored my hair. I let her know that I've been very happy when after they emulsify the color they leave it on for 10 min rather than 5. She said no problem. As I watied with my color on I saw 2 other people get hand massages while waiting with their color. Both of them had color applied AFTER me. Why was I not offered one? I do not know. The salon was not busy When I got to the shampoo area my hair was emulsified but rinsed out after the standard 5 minutes. The botanical oil treatment was applied but no massage at all. The products here are very, very good. Some stylists are quite talented but the service really needs to be better. While I was waiting the 25 minutes after I arrived there were 2 women at the front desk standing there talking. read more

My sister & niece wanted to treat me to hair color & cut for my upcoming job interviews, so they made an appt at Lavish. It was $69 for the color and $41 for the cut (way too high!) but I found a coupon online for $20 off for first time customers! The color was good, the haircut "trim" not so much. I have naturally curly hair and asked my hair be layered. She did NOT layer it at all. She barely trimmed 1 inch off the bottom. This process took over 2 hours because she did someone else' hair (I sat for 45 mins with a towel on my head) after my color had been washed out, in between the coloring and haircut (I thought they cut hair first, before coloring?) At the end, when I was in the restroom, they hit up my sister to pay for it all. When I got up front (not realizing my sister had already paid) I gave them the $20 coupon, but they said since the sale had been closed out that I couldn't use the coupon. The cashier said "Just bring the coupon and use it when you come back" I thought, 'Right, like I'm coming back?...NOT!' Besides, the coupon specifically states it's for 1st time customers. They did a follow-up call about a week later asking about my experience at their salon, and I nicely explained that the color turned out good but the haircut wasn't layered like I had requested. "Oh, well I'll talk to my manager and we'll get you back in here to get that fixed" That was 4 months ago and I haven't heard a word from Lavish. :( NOT HAPPY! I went to Great Clips and got a lot better haircut + style for 1/3 Lavish's $41 haircut price! I'm still out of work... read more
