This is a warning to anyone looking to have their hair done here. I had my hair cut and colored by a girl named Alison. These "stylists" are all independents so if you have any issues with your hair, there is no "typical" salon to follow up with - only the independent stylist. I have to say, initially Alison did a great job cutting my hair and coloring it. However, two days later after washing it, I noticed extreme frizzing on the right side. When I tried to brush it, it knotted up. I realized that it had been over processed on the ends (just on one side only). I immediately texted her and told her that it had been over processed and the ends were matted and dry. She took 5 hours to respond saying only it was my shampoo. I told her that it was impossible because the rest of my hair was fine and only one patch was problematic. I then asked what we should do. She never replied. It's been a week now and it's clear that the right side ends need to be cut off because of the damage done. It could have been fixed by her, she could have apologized, offered to look at my hair to see what could be done. Instead - she chose to ignore me. I'm now looking for another stylist to fix her mistake. read more

Kendra Vincent is fabulously talented with cut and color. Every time she does my hair I get lots of compliments, even from strangers. My husband actually comments how much he likes my hair and he has not done that with any other stylist I have had. He said he really likes how she does my hair. That's saying a lot because we used to live in OC and I had stylists that work on celebrities and style for tv shows. I tried 3 other stylists in the area before I found Kendra. Kendra is knowledgeable, easy to work with and her prices are very reasonable. When I try something new she always makes sure I look great. If I change my mind last minute, she's very accommodating. She is flexible with scheduling and always a pleasure to visit with while she does her magic. She is always on time and never makes me wait. The salon has a great atmosphere with its chic and calming decor and everyone there is friendly. There is a charming boutique in the front. They did such an amazing job on bridal hair and bridesmaid hair. Lovely to work with Cheree for hair/makeup . She did exactly as my bridesmaids wanted and was punctual and flexible. They all brought a picture of something they liked and she was able to copy them so well. I'm super picky about my hair and makeup. She was willing to adjust my makeup several times at the trial to get it the way I wanted. She took pictures and wrote down what she used so she knew for the real thing. Also they have an adorable little area for getting ready and a cute shop attached to their salon that sells clothes. Payment is super easy with Venmo. Sheila was super responsive. Awesome experience at this salon! I went to see Lotus Roze Johnson for the first time and she gained a client for life! I am so pleased with my cut and color. I needed a new imagine for a career transition I'm going through and she nailed it! It was like she read my mind and then made it even better. She asked questions and looked at the images I brought, was warm and welcoming and really listened. I was a bit nervous as the color was new for me and I was going shorter than I had before. She had such a natural calming and relate-able way about her I was put at ease right away. I'm also really tender headed and have bad experiences with cuts and bleach. She was really gentle, no pulling or pressure (which I'm sensitive to) and didn't use anything with chemically smells, in fact the scents were calming and the head massage in the shampoo bowl was a welcome plus. I felt really pampered and taken care of the whole time. I loved the way she did the cut, first wet then dry. As I was watching her work it was getting better and better and I was super excited. She could have stopped about 20 minutes earlier and I would have been totally pleased, but she went the extra mile and added shape and detail that make the look really polished. I'm amazed at how good I look right out of bed first thing in the morning. I just can't say enough about it, I'm obsessed with the color, definitely the best I've ever had, rich and silky and with so much depth. She really is an amazing artist. Her prices are good and you really get alot for your money. She also recommend a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to help me take care of it that smells amazing and was available in the saloon for a reasonable price. The salon itself was great too; clean and comfortable with a lovely modern rustic vibe, and a cute little boutique attached. Lovely things to browse and chic comfy seating. I am not reviewing the salon itself, although I really liked the look and feel of it, but the massage I received from Laurie. It was probably the best massage I've ever had and I've had some really great massages in the past. Laurie is super sweet and immediately put me at ease. Her massage room is beautiful, extremely clean, and ultra relaxing. Laurie applied the perfect amount of pressure and focused on the areas I asked her to with amazing results. I went in with pain in my neck and shoulder blade area and came out pain free and relaxed! I highly recommending giving Laurie a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

Great services, OK customer service. I made an appointment here last minute for a blow out. The receptionist called me back with a reservation time that accommodated my schedule. When I came in at 12:30 there was no one at the front desk. I waited almost 10 minutes at the front to be told someone will be with me shortly. An older lady with short blonde hair didn't seem the most friendly but rather just straight forward. Finally when the receptionist showed up (12:45ish) I was told my hair lady is running just a little behind. I waiting until about 12:55 for to appear running in from the back door, that's almost 30minutes past my appointment time! I don't know if she really was just running SUPER late or if she was told the appointment was later than what I was scheduled but if I was told to come at 1 instead that would've but acceptable but instead I was left in the dark waiting for quite some time. HOWEVER; Jen was amazing with her blowouts. Very friendly and she gave a mean scalp massage. I was in heaven the whole session, she paid good attention to detail and my hair held through all night. When that was done I was able to be seated right away for a pedicure that was a spontaneous self pampering decision. Rachel gave a great foot massage and is extremely talktative and friendly. Despite being rubbed wrong with my lack of a greeting when I came in the individual services themselves were spot on and will be back in the future. read more

This review is mixed with one really bad experience for hair, and a great experience for nails, hence the three star rating. 1) hair- I went to Kelly rose for a color and cut. She kept me waiting 45 minutes after my appointment start time without letting me know she was running behind. At my start time she said she was finishing up in the next few min. 45 minutes later I was sitting in her chair. The hair color came out really uneven- orangish roots and dark brown ends. She said once it gets washed a few times it will be better. Well, a week later I spent 3.5 hours getting my color corrected by a competent person at another salon (lavish hair salon is great and they are open on Sundays). 2) nails- Nikki is great and has her own room for doing nails. I love that the hour is yours without people walking in and interrupting. She is very hygienic and gives you your file when you leave. You can show her a picture and she works her magic. Very happy with the nail design I got and quality of the work. I do wish she still did pedis so that I don't have to go to two separate places, but the nails are great. Nikki has a Facebook page that has several pictures of nail designs that she has done (super sweet lavender nails). 3) decor- it is very chic. I particularly like the bathroom that has a Parisian vintage feel. The salon has ample parking. I'll return for nails. I did not see anyone walking out of the salon with hair that I would be happy with, despite them having good yelp reviews. read more

Worst experience for eyelash extensions ever!!! She didn't have what she needed and left me for 20 minutes in the middle of treatment. I had to find someone to ask them to have her come back. When she finished, it took her awhile to unglue not only my eyelashes but also my lids. She reassured me this was normal but I have had extensions for years and know that was ridiculous. When pressed she admitted she couldn't find the lashes she needed to finish and you could tell. At least it was a special so I don't feel so bad about the cost. Now I will go about the task of finding someone to fix it. read more

Let me begin by saying, my name is not Sam. My real name, which is the name of a country and therefor easy enough to pronounce, was too hard for Janeth Reitzell to remember, so she decided to call me Sam instead. I am nineteen, work 3 jobs, and attend Sacramento State for which I pay for myself. Facts she knew. I had found Janeth Reitzell through a groupon, and saw her a couple times ever couple months. I was a loyal customer, also attending the salon to see Britany to get eyelash extensions for the first time. My last visit to see her was to get some more highlights as well as lowlights in my hair. I was turning 20 in three days, and leaving to visit my boyfriend who attends school in another state ad that I hadn't seen in a few months. I had blonde hair, so the process would have been no problem. I showed her multiple pictures, and she began applying the dye. I noticed she was applying only one dye all over (which was not what I wanted) and she said that it was the process and continued. She rinsed me out and dried my hair, and took me outside to show me the color. IT WAS COMPLETELY RED. Top to bottom, all over. I told her tis was not what I wanted, nor what we had discussed, and she stated that she must have misunderstood and it was my fault for not telling her correctly what I wanted. After I had shown her pictures. She had another client coming, and told me to keep the color, and try it out to se if I liked it. I refused, and told her this was not what I asked for and I refused to leave with red hair. She finally stopped pushing me to keep it, and began applying some sort of hair dye remover. During which I cried in my chair. During which the owner walked by seeing me crying, and did nothing. She left the product in for a while, then finally rinsed it out, and dried my hair once more. The final product was the top three inches from my roots down were tinted ginger orange, while the rest was a dull brown tinted green. And my hair was completely fried. I could see how dead it was in the mirror as far away as from my chair, and it felt like hay to the touch. She said she couldn't dye over it, due to the fact that my hair would break off. She also wouldn't style it for the same reason. But the worst part that makes me shake to my core still, is she made me pay for this. $180. She said it was for the products she used. She never apologized. I couldn't believe it. I was a loyal customer not only to her services herself, but to the salon as well and this was how I was treated. I am super satisfied with her work and my overall experience with Lavender Salon. So, I purchased a Groupon for one of the stylists here and after two weeks of trying to reach her I was informed she no longer worked at Lavender Salon and was no longer honoring the Groupon. I contacted the owner who was very quick to respond and has helped me set up an appointment this week with another stylist. Although I have not yet had my hair done by anyone at Lavender I am pleased with the way Sheila has helped me and I'm looking forward to getting my hair done later this week. read more

I have a hard time finding someone I trust with my hair. I am sure we all do. When I went here, I was a bit nervous, like I always am. I have been working with Erica and she is absolutely fabulous. She understands what I want (and always makes sure she does). She offers suggestions. I just love her! She is amazing!!!
