Where to begin, if you're going to require a mask then you need to have a sign posted on your building somewhere. You don't tell someone to put a mask on after they get up to the counter. Also when you have three people standing in line and you have the employee standing behind the counter laughing telling jokes to another person for four or five minutes while other people are waiting in line it's time to hire someone else. Doesn't matter how good your coffee is if your customer service sucks. When you give a coffee Company three tries and every time you walk in there's an issue then it's time to go somewhere else... customer service should be your highest priority nothing else matters if you can't acknowledge your customers who are walking through the door. read more

Quiet and spacious feel. Great place to read, take your laptop, work, or study. + Great coffee (local brand, handcrafted well) + Local artwork for sale + Kombucha options + Promotes local activities/businesses within the community + Fun latte art - No one greeted us We would definitely go back! read more

Place is amazing!!! Some of the best coffee I have ever had in my life, I would recommend a simple hot mocha, I swear it's somehow made with love. Everyone was also very friendly, I felt very welcomed! read more

Best mocha I ever had! ( not just pure sugar taste like everywhere else) Kind service, clean environment and great taste! Love their flamingo wallpaper! read more

Got a cup of coffee at this spot and I'm sorry to say that my decaf, almond milk latte tasted bitter or a bit burned. Great service and food but I wasn't impressed with the taste of the coffee. Perhaps this was just a bad day so I'll eventually go back and try it again. read more

A great neighborhood place that serves good coffee at a good price. The owner/barista is wonderfully talented and somewhat of a celebrity. It is right off the freeway so if you need a drink and are in the area take the exit and do yourself a favor and grab a good cup of coffee. read more

Such a wonderful coffee spot!! The owner was super nice and gave us local tips for hiking and canoeing, and the coffee is SUPERB. Definitely coming back!! read more

Yikes. Chilly is the right word. We came in here for the first time to get breakfast and coffee, the space looked great as we walked in! It's decorated beautifully, but YIKES! We weren't greeted when we walked in- unless you count a stare down and glare as a hello. It could have been just us (a very plain and basic couple), since everyone after us received a hello or good morning. The menu is hard to decipher, it's artistic but not clear. There's a table to the left, we aren't sure if it's display only of what they offer or where you're supposed to get your food. I say that because when we picked up our food the gentleman at the counter gave us the dirtiest look and went back to get more and restock. Coffee was pretty pricey and nothing special. Honestly when I come into a shop for coffee in this area, the coffee is about 40% and the customer service is 60%. Being treated coldly and like I'm inconveniencing you by spending my money in your store, nah no thanks. read more

I am in the process of moving to Ridgefield from across the river in Oregon. I stopped in for a coffee prior to unloading my items into my new house. This is the only coffee location close to the freeway. The parking lot is a bit small for the small for the amount of business in the strip mall. I ordered a medium black coffee and it wasn't fresher brewed. It was poured from a carafe and was a bit disappointing. I was hoping for fresher coffee but I did stop in about 1000 and the morning rush passed by. I grabbed a muffin to go for a snack and wished there was a bit more of a selection in food items. I may have visited on an off day so I will try again down the road. read more

I might expect to be snubbed or treated condescendingly at a snobby Portland coffee shop but when I came to a Ridgefield coffee shop off the beaten path, I certainly did not. The owner took our order and proceeded to rip my head off for asking for a free pour latte. I admit I havent been a barista in about five years and things are always changing in coffee but to demean devalue and belittle your customers is never okay- not even in Portland. They serve Stumptown so the coffee is obviously good and the baristas are well trained but the customer service is abusive. The barista tried to make up for it with friendly chit chat but the lady who took our order (and is the owner) was horrible to us. Would never return here for anything and highly recommend you find coffee elsewhere if you want to be treated like a human being and want to enjoy the rest of your day. read more

The nicest place in town to work and have coffee. No obnoxious loud music, great seating, lots of outlets to charge. They also have a no wifi rule before 11am or so to promote social interaction. Two small two person tables outside incase you want some fresh air and most importantly, the coffee is great! read more

My favorite coffee shop to stop at, the coffee drinks are always wonderful, no matter what you order, and staff is so kind and friendly!

Cute place. The coffee is yummy and service is great. The only thing missing is some music and some yummy pastries. But it is a good spot.

The barista was friendly and knowledgeable and crafted our 6+ drinks efficiently and skillfully. I enjoyed one of the best Vanilla Honey Lattes I've had, maybe ever. read more

Wow, such a cold environment! From the decor to the staff! Chilly! The coffee was fine, nothing exciting. No specials or holiday flavors. Menu is a little cryptic and since the staff aren't at all friendly you're on your own to decipher it. read more

This is a hidden gem. Desperate for good coffee after weeks in the "wasteland" we were hugely pleased to find them open on Thanksgiving after locating them on Yelp and calling from I-5. Great coffee, friendly service and a lifesaver to those of us stuck on the road on an otherwise grey, rainy day. read more

Over priced coffee!! And low quality taste. They use to be better like 19 years ago, this place has gone down in customer service and location. Won't be getting my support read more

Quick walk from the gas station next door, totally worth it for a high quality cappuccino. They still make it cute even though it's to-go! read more

Lava Java - Dry cappuccino & muffins - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Ridgefield, Washington

Stopping through to get coffee on the way back home, we stopped in what we thought would be a nice coffee shop. Talking to the barista, we expressed our love for coffee and how we have our own espresso machine at home. The barista stated as "a professional" that she advises we should not waste our time trying to do it at home and we should just spend money at coffee shops instead in a very pretentious and snobby tone as if we didn't know what we were doing. As she continued insulting us and reminding us about how professional she is, we stood there and watched her burn our espresso shots. The coffee is mediocre, made with a cute design on top of the drink but clearly tastes burnt. read more

The coffee here is my hands down favorite but I never get a warm reception from the staff or baristas. I notice that they are friendly to "known" regulars but never to me or my husband. It's too bad because I prefer to promote small business read more

Such good coffee here! The very best in Clark County for sure!! Friendly staff, welcoming and kind. Will be back over and over! Yum!

It's average fair coffee but they do cute foam art so that's fun. The owner is not friendly at all, the place is cold and sterile but it's decent coffee to get on the go. read more

Good coffee, civilized washroom. Amazing art on the walls too it is just off the freeway with easy access.

Really great coffee and service! I got a 16oz almond milk latte with sugar free vanilla and it is nothing short of perfection and I am a complete coffee snob lol definitely check this place out for a good cup of java! Highly recommend!! read more

This is a great place in Ridgefield. It's located right near the I-5, so anyone travelling near Ridgefield should stop by. The baristas seem to be very knowledgeable and well trained. The coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always so delicious. I'm glad that this location is so close to where I live. This location is fairly small and quiet, which is nice if you want to hang around and work on homework. Unfortunately, they do not offer wifi. So if you want to do any work on a computer, you will have to do without the Internet. read more

I love this place. They use Stumptown coffee and the baristas are skilled and knowledgable. I had a half sweet mocha, and was very impressed. The staff is friendly and nice to chat with. Best coffee in Clark county! read more

Really awesome and helpful staff! It's one of the only places to get coffee in Ridgefield but that's ok because their coffee is amazing! They have a big selection and a little case with muffins and snacks. read more

Delicious, fast, and friendly. Didn't think I'd find a gem like this in a small town. Well done, Lava Java.

Just popped in for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised they serve stumptown. My favorite. Friendly staff. Would come here again.

Really good latte with cute foam accents! Cute decor and really convenient to the freeway. Will come again!

All the baristas are super friendly and always deliver top quality lattes and mochas. Love our local coffee shop!

They have stumptown coffee. A bit steep at $3.50 for a double Americano but it's most definitely good coffee.

Wonderful coffee, friendly baristas, fair pricing, and good ambiance inside. The owner has good vibes too. I'm really happy I chose to stop here on a long drive on I-5!!! read more

Best and most consistent coffee and espresso around. I've been a customer for 5+ years and am an admitted coffee snob, and when I want coffee out that's where I go. Stumptown beans, the owner has a relationship with the roasters, and she teaches all of her baristas how to do it right. She even gives me tips about how to make better espresso at home. Highly recommended. read more

Friendly service, delicious coffee. Lucky to live near by one of the greatest shops! Also it's close off the freeway, so it's perfect stop to grab coffee for a road trip. read more
