We made a last minute (early Sunday morning) attempt at a reservation for brunch in late July, and were pleasantly surprised that we had a call back confirming our group of six. None of us had every been there before, and we had a nice time. The customer service was very nice--everyone pleasant and prompt and helpful. The ambience really makes the space here--the huge wooden logs that make up the walls really give off that old-timey, woodsy feel. The landscaping is top notch--really beautiful and subtle--like being in a perfectly kept forest. So green and lush and beautiful, and the water features are just gorgeous. Love the windows looking out on all the woods around the building. They had fresh flowers on the tables and cloth napkins. Everything was clean and spacious. The food was all-you-can-eat buffet style, and had some good offerings--a poached egg and ham english muffin with a hollandaise-ish sauce. Bacon and sausages. Homestyle potatoes. Biscuits and gravy. Pancakes. They had several sweet baked things, and some fruit. Two kinds of pasta for lunch offerings. My only two issues were this: 1) Some of the food was a bit too dry/hard because of the warmers--the biscuits were quite tough, and the English muffins too. And I wish there were more vegetarian/vegan offerings, aside from fruit and eggs. I know that's just a personal preference, but for what it's worth--higher quality food (and more options) means even more people can/will enjoy the brunch. Coffee was good. The ambience was the BEST. Held a wedding at Summit Grove Lodge on July 13, 2023. The site was very nice and our wedding helpers decorated the grounds, inside and out, beautifully. I rate this venue with 2 stars only based on the pros and cons. Would I have a wedding there again, yes except not in the summer months. Pros: * Very accommodating management that provided early site access for our wedding decorators. * Lovely grounds and building, very Pacific Northwest feel to it. * Very helpful and friendly staff, with a few exceptions. * The facility has separate bride and groom rooms to get prepared in. * Nothing to do with Summit Grove but the photographer (The Candid Photographer) was terrific. Cons: * The lack of proper air conditioning. The wedding was held on a day that hit the upper 80's. At 5:30, dinner was served inside with dancing to follow. With all doors closed the AC was not able to accommodate the heat. The manager first told me that there were problems with the AC and later said there were no AC issues, the problem was in the doors being open. This was not the case as the doors were not held open. The staff confirmed that the AC was not very good, and I think the manager just did not want to risk giving us a partial refund for the miserably hot conditions. The whole reception broke up two hours early with people leaving because of the heat. Do not have a wedding here of the temperatures will rise above 70 degrees. * The food was very mediocre. I feared this after having Sunday brunch there months earlier. Not worth the price at all. I paid for 86 dinners with only 72 showing up. Even then, the chef was very stingy with the beef slices, leaving a near whole roast remaining that I paid for but could not get a decent slice of. * The bartender was a jerk, but worked out well for us when he sliced his finger open and was replaced with another, friendlier person. * The DJ (David Efaw Productions) was not good and will leave a separate review of him. read more

We had our wedding here 6/2019 and enjoyed this venue immensely. Our guests could not say enough good things about the venue and how impressed they were with the overall feel. It's nice that it is private and only one event is held every week so there is a lot of time to set up/tear down without issues. The bridal suite is large and very easy to accommodate a large bridal party. The grounds are very well maintained and just beautiful. Mary, the venue coordinator is very easy to work with and makes you feel very comfortable that everything will go off without a hitch - which is exactly what happened. There are multiple options for the catering, we chose prime rib and teriyaki chicken with multiple sides. We had many guests complimenting us on the food - some saying it was the best wedding food they have had! We had a great day, beautiful scenery and a wonderful night of festivities. We have also stopped by for brunch at this venue which is also fantastic. We happened to go on a day that there was live music which was so good. There are a lot of options for the brunch - too many to have them all. It's a very relaxed environment and doesn't feel like a busy restaurant that you just get pushed through. We highly recommend stopping for brunch in a little wooded getaway. read more

Tasteless potatoes, Caesar salad drowned in dressing, bland pasta salad, green beans and carrots was okay nothing to brag about, very dried out pork roast. My family took me here for my birthday brunch this weekend. The building & grounds are gorgeous as is the drive out there (we didn't take I-5). We heard beautiful Sinatra-like singing when we walked in & we were all surprised to find it wasn't a recording - there was a lovely gentleman singing live! He was amazing. I used to really love this place pre-Covid. I've been a couple times in the last couple months and the food was just not very good... a couple things were good but a lot of things not so much. I understand it's hard with a buffet to keep things filled and fresh when there are not a lot of customers. Both times seemed like we were one of only patrons. The service was great and the atmosphere still was really nice. But the food was not fresh ... it was apparent a lot of things had been out on the buffet a long time. A few items were hard/over cooked or were completely out... once I came late in the service so I chalked it up to that. But just last week I decided to give it another go and we came with an hour to spare and there wasn't a lot left and what was out wasn't the level of fresh or tastiness I am used to. At $25 a person I expect more... I would be willing to pay less but at that price I just can't justify making the drive and paying that much for mediocre food. I hope it gets better. The food used to be really yummy. I am disappointed to have to leave this feedback. read more

Found this beautiful spot on yelp when looking for a breakfast/brunch spot on the way home to Seattle from Vancouver. I had no idea it was a buffet, but was very happy about that. The selection was just the right amount, not too much or too little. They were able to get us a table right away even without a reservation, but next time I'll make a reservation. The place was very clean and so beautifully rustic. I didn't give 5 stars because some of the items were over cooked and dry, even when a new batch was brought out. Beware! We had the worsts experience at this venue! The manager Brittany, actually wrote our contract out in my x's last name, not once but twice! She must have carelessly taken it off caller ID versus looking at the paperwork or listening to the information we gave her. Also, what we discussed in person was not actually on the contract. This was just the beginning. Once we paid, we were quickly forgotten. Once I reached out the manager, Brittany Riddell, she did not know who I was! When Covid hit they became exceedingly difficult to work with and wanted us to reschedule until next summer. We explained that at our age (in our 50's) that we did not want to wait. Finally, when we asked for a refund, they became even more difficult, rude, and hard to get a hold of! It was very difficulty to a refund. read more

For those of you looking for a REAL brunch check this place out. They have a very good selection of food from both the breakfast and lunch items. This is a serve yourself, no picking from a menu that is called brunch at a lot of places in Vancouver. Also, you can go back in line for 2nds. You will need to travel into the north county of Clark off I-5 to the east. Its location is a couple of miles East of the Indian casino located on I-5. The place is a Lodge, where weddings are held almost every weekend. It is clean, single level, wheelchair access and good access to restroom and the dining room is large all tables no booths, you don't site on top of each other. They do take reservations. They only serve from 10-2 on SUNDAY only. Of course, the food. I talk about all the other stuff the food is great with a good selection, large fruit bar, good selection of breakfast items and lunch item with a beautiful desert selection. My only other suggestion is go early and make a reservation. read more

Great venue, below average food. We went last weekend with some friends who, unknown to us, had reserved a table for 6 plus child. When we arrived first and told them who's name the reservation was under, they seated us at a table for 4. Needless to say, we had to switch tables when our hosts arrived. The lady in charge of seating was quite belligerent about it and nobody offered to help transfer our waters, coffee, silverware, etc. Now the buffet food. My best interpretation would be "eh". I would say the eggs Benedict's had to be cut but, 'sawed' is more like it. The store bought English muffins were as tough as leather and the egg yolks completely cooked through. Pretty cold too. The salmon was okay but again, cold as ice. Pastries could have been straight from for local grocery store. Definitely not made there - much like everything else. Just heat and serve stuff. I ate nothing I would want to eat again. So, why two stars and not one (can we please get a zero star review option)? The singer, that's why. There was a charming singer there to set the ambiance and interact with diners. He was the consummate entertainer. I wanted to leave a tip but couldn't find the typical oversized brandy glass for the purpose. read more

The buffet brunch had a variety of food from cobblers, seafood, eggs Benedict, and a fruit platter to dig into that is beautiful. The service was amazing. The owner greeted us and was so helpful. They also encouraged us to walk the grounds and explore. So pretty! We had brunch here on a cloudy Sunday in March. The grounds are beautiful and the building which dates from 1927 is very impressive and reminds me of the Woodsman style architecture of Camp18 in Oregon. The food was just Ok. We were surprised that there is no make-to-order omelette station and no alcohol served, so no Mimosa or Bloody Mary. There are Benedicts, scrambled eggs, several styles of potatoes and different kind breakfast meats. There are also a couple of seafood options. There were several desserts which looked much better than they tasted. The price is appropriate. The service was prompt and polite. Everyone was pleasant and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. The room is beautiful and nicely appointed with white table clothes and flowers on each table. But the high point was the entertainment. They have a soloist who sings along to recorded accompaniment and sounds just like Nat King Cole. We were there on country music day, but by request (mine) he sang several NKC jazz standards. He was fabulous and charming to boot. He made the occasion special. He is here on the last Sunday of every month; I would return to see him. read more

Had my wedding here last December. I'll start with the good. The facility is amazing. It was perfect for my cozy winter wedding and all-in-all we had a great time the day of. There was also several staff members that were extremely nice and helpful. The bad - planning the wedding was a nightmare. I could never get ahold of anyone. Peter the owner was extremely nice, but retired during our planning process and management never mentioned this to us, nor that their email address had changed. Even once we figured out that we were emailing an inactive account, the communication was still poor. This made me extremely nervous at times. I delayed sending out invitations because I was worried the business had closed down. I live almost 2 hours away so I had my brother in Portland go to make sure that they were still in business. Moving forward to the day of - there was minimal issues. I had a few complaints from my guests that the bartender was rude. She was perfectly nice to me so know knows. My day of coordinator said she received no help getting the tables ready and was rushing like crazy until the last moment. And the one that bugged me the most was how rude my bridesmaids were treated by the manager during clean up. MOST of them are totally reasonable people and they said the manger was a completely different person once the event was over. One of them even came back to our hotel crying because of how she was treated. Finally, the next day when it came to picking up our stuff and paying - I thought I was being overcharged by about 10 heads. I was exhausted so I just paid the bill. When I got home, I checked my guest list and sure enough I was right. I emailed Katie to let her know and once again never got a response. The last thing that bugged me was that we were never even thanked for spending over $10,000 at their establishment. Not even a goodbye /congratulations. We felt like we were just another one on the assembly line. Even the manager at the small restaurant from our rehearsal dinner bought us a Christmas ornament and gave us a hug. We never felt any warmth or welcome from the management at our venue. We were able to make the day our own and it was a beautiful event. I just wish the pre/post wedding would have gone better. read more

Their staff are wonderful, the food is good and the venue is intimate, rustic and charming. I am very glad we chose them. My husband and I just had Sunday brunch at Summit Grove Lodge. It was a wonderful experience! From the moment we entered through the entrance, we were greeted warmly and shown to a table in the gorgeous dining room. The buffet had a wide array of fruit, egg dishes, seafood, meat and desserts. You feel as though you are experiencing something extra special when dining here. Our server, Dee, was amazing. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and helpful. We were introduced to the owner after we had finished our meal and he made us feel like family. We will definitely be returning to Summit Grove Lodge in the near future.
