I've been going to Lava Java since they first opened and I've loved everything! The staff is amazingly kind and helpful, the decor, atmosphere and seating are all perfect, the owner/chef is always there working hard and making sure everything they serve is perfect! Fair prices, delicious food, great variety of hot and cold drink options, you really can't go wrong here. So happy they opened up, the island needed a place like this! read more

Sure the line gets a little long in the summer, especially on the weekends, but it is well worth the wait. They know how to hookup a breakfast sandwich. Their bread tastes out of the oven fresh, and they sure know how to load it up with meats and cheeses. Try getting a sandwich like that at DD.... good luck, ew yuck. The vibes are great too. The staff is always so charming. They greet you with a sincere, warm welcome even when it's a busy, line out the door morning. There's always music playing and everyone seems to be having fun. It's a nice way to start your beach day. Oh and the coffee. Let me tell you this, the coffee is great. I've tried all the blends, except for the decaf, and I'm not sure which one I like more. Then I tried the Javander, (iced coffee, lavender syrup, almond milk) and now I think that is my favorite. It's also fun to let the barista make me a drink when I'm not sure. I can't say enough good things about this place. We came down for a long weekend and went there everyday for coffee. Their Iced coffee is in the top 3 of the best I've ever had. Their service is awesome and all the people who work there look happy TO WORK THERE. The best part is their prices are extremely inexpensive for the quality I feel. I got a large iced coffee and the think was huge and not expensive. read more

prepare to lose at least an hour of your life on any food because the line is very long due to a bad system and once you get your food prepare to get food poisoning because that's what I got. The prices are also above average for food that is possible to make yourself. read more

First off, the ambiance in this place is beyond perfect. It's causal and inviting. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Secondly, the food is delicious. We have been coming to the town for years for vacation and we were delighted to try this new establishment ! Porkroll/bacon egg and cheese is heavenly! Perfect amount, perfectly cooked. My niece ( who can be picky) had an egg platter to go... And raved about how great it is. And try the Javaender. It's just the slightest bit sweet and not bitter. Pretty cute coffee/tea shop; a bit of a small space with nice decor. I had the tuna salad on spinach wrap for lunch and it was tasty and fresh. Any sandwiches come with either a salad or chips/salsa. I chose the salad and it was spinach leaves which came with a balsamic vinegarett dressing. I also had the blue berry hibiscus tea and it was cold and refreshing! I come here for the blueberry hibiscus iced tea with a scone on the way to work in the mornings sometimes. Along with the typical coffees and custom lattes they also offer a wide range of teas from The Republic of Tea brand and sell the tins if you fall in love with a blend. read more

Stopped by for my first coffee here. I was pleasantly surprised. The dark roast was very good, with a touch of a fruity flavor. Sorry Starbucks this coffee blend is just as good as yours. The surroundings are nicely decorated with lots of pictures to look at and local brochures and papers to pass time. The store is clean and there are plenty of cold and hot drinks for any time of day. I was tempted by the morning pastries; maybe next time. It's a few doors north of Charlie Hankin's former business. Wish it was here when I was a docent at the museum after Charlie passed. I love Lava Java and will return as often as I can!!!! They offer organic meals and exceptional customer service!!!!! I never tried their coffee, but saw they they offer a full range of drinks. They also have specialty coffee types to choose from. They go above and beyond typical coffee shops!!!! I was also impressed with Nala's Naturals--she offers natural healthier products in the same shop... (Lip balms, deodorant and and body spritzers). read more

I want to update my review now that i have been going here for about 1 year. Let me start off by saying this.....somehow, this amazing place only seams to get better every time i go there (which is at least once a week). The owner takes so much pride in her business, her staff, her coffee, her food, and everything else there. this can not go un-noticed. Also, recently they have added a pick up window for coffee which is great for people on the go. they also have updated their patio with new paver patio in the seating area. The coffee is the best around. The blueberry hibiscus tea is amazing. the lava lemonade is great. and the food....still to die for. Fast and efficient, don't let the long line intimidate you they move it very quickly! They have a very friendly, helpful staff and AMAZING food. Every time I go in there I am greeted with happy faces and great music. Did I mention the food is amazing? And the drinks!!! From coffee/espresso drinks to the iced teas, I have had them all and they're always so refreshing. There is something for everybody.
