This time we were going from PA to DE, not sure if we could afford this type of service we had Robert out to give us an estimate. Walked through the house with the person doing the estimate, said we would have a quote in 2 days. Three weeks later, nothing. We even called a week later and did not get a call back. In my option they are unreliable and should be avoided. On a good note, we are having O'Brien's Allied move us in 2 weeks. They emailed us an estimate in 3 hours that same day. read more

We had a hell of a day today. Had settlement on my house at 11 AM, settlement on OUR house at 12 noon, and had to be out of my house by 11 AM. Lausch showed up at 8:30 aM as promised... and we had 3 great guys who were here to help us move. They had us out of the house by 11 AM, and even needed an extra truck since we had a few things that didn't quite fit. Moving in, they were professional as could be. Verified each room we wanted the boxes in, damaged absolutely nothing(so far, still unpacking) and their move came in..... are you ready for this... WAY under estimate. The movers were diligent to handle my move in the rain. My rating is based upon a few issues with this company. I didn't receive a confirmation call prior to my move. I left 2 voicemails and 2 emails with no response. I was planning to request a change in my move date due to the weather, but the movers showed up at 915am so we proceeded in the rain. Due to the rain, I would have liked more of an effort to keep my floors clean by laying blankets or carpet protectors down. Several boxes were placed into the wrong rooms and I had to carry a twin mattress up 2 flights of stairs myself. Thankfully only one piece of furniture was damaged in the move. read more

I have used Lausch's 3x in the past year, once for my sister moving across town & myself moving from CA with another company where they unloaded & then moved me to my current home a few months later. The guys were amazing and showed concern over my original move when the other company destroyed quite a few items & were very careful with all my belongings. The guys even helped to build some of the larger items for me. Great guys, friendly, & very professional. Will be calling this week to set up another move happening at the end of the summer. **unless you get someone on the phone right away there is a couple day turn around for a call back but I have not had any negative issues. for poor reviews, i would recommend actually planning ahead, companies get busy and i rather support a local company vs a large branch anyways.** read more

Used this company this summer to move the remaining items out of a home/office. The item were moved without incident but they left big ruts in the lawn of my home even though I have a paved driveway and there was no need to destroy my lawn. I called to request that they fix the damage but have never had a response. Would not use them again. We are stuck with the lawn repair. read more

This was the worst experience of my life. We used this company years ago and didn't have an issue so of coarse I called again. However I should have known just from trying to get a hold of them from the beginning was gonna be hell. They showed up on time and started packing up the truck with 3 guys, which we had when we moved years ago and didn't have an issue. They started at 9:30 am and I was at my new house at 3:30. They told me they were on their way. 4:45 comes by and they just show up. I call the number they called me earlier to see where they were and no answer. In the meantime there is another truck sitting outside and I had no idea why. Here there are 3 different guys waiting to help the other 3 guys who now are so called "lost". Finally an hour and fifteen minutes of waiting they show up and sat there is another address with same as mine in the same zip code in the city near Cotton St!!!!!! Seriously call me!? So after unloading the truck they tell me also there was a problem with one of the legs to my granite dining room table and he tells me they took it to the shop to fix it. In the meantime I have all 4 legs and no granite tabletop. I made the mistake by not un hooking the refridgerator at the old house so they couldn't take it so I ran back to the house to do that. My best friend of 30 years stayed at the new house while I did that and here they left about 25 more boxes and the grill. And other items that were in the estimate that was written up. I get back to the house my and my friend calls me and tells me they're not going back for the fridge because it's to late. And here when they unloaded the truck they never put my bedroom furniture together. They just put everything in rooms and rushed me through the payment process and took advantage of the fact that I was by myself at this point. It was 6:30 at night and they felt so bad about my table. They left. They were supposed to meet with us the next day at 11 to pick up the fridge. No call no show! For days after we tried calling and left messages, nothing!!!!! We stopped payment on the check. Finally someone from the office called my husband Friday and wanted to reschedule and my husband told them they will need another check when they finish the job. The guy got ugly never mentioned my table and said good luck getting your fridge and hung up on my husband! DO NOT USE LAUSCH MOVING. TELL YOU FRIENDS AND FAMILY NO! read more

I would not recommend this group of movers to anyone! They are a big ripoff!! We moved in August 2014. We were given an estimate that was $1000.00 below the price that they charged!!! They told us that they would supply the covers for the furniture and showed up on moving day without them. That caused about a 5 hour delay because they had to wait for another team to show up to help and bring the furniture covers. The staff were unhappy that they had to work later because they came from another job. I contacted one of the owners and was told that his brother handled issues related to charges and he was on vacation the week I called. He assured me that I would get a call back. I never received a call!!! The furniture was not wrapped. The walls and paint job in our brand new home were damaged. Some of our furniture had dents and scratches, too. They also lost the base to our expenseive Christmas tree and never said anything. If we ever move again, we will definitely not use this moving company. read more

SCAM ALERT! I've never been so disgusted before that I needed to write an online review. But then I made the mistake of hiring Lausch's Moving. The business model here is simple, get your foot in the door and find ways to scam the customer. Step one is rather simple...give a lowball estimate that can't be beat by other moving companies. Trust me, there is a reason for this. Basically, the "good faith' estimate will not be anywhere close to the final cost you will be charged. The next clue that your day is not going as planned is when they don't show up on time. But that doesn't matter because they start billing from when they leave their shop, NOT when they start working. And once they finally do show up, smelling like they just attended a Grateful Dead concert, they move like the gel inside a lava lamp. But why push yourself when the meter is running? Then it's time for a second scam move. After agreeing to pay for two workers, who are slowly moving furniture to the truck, a third mover shows up, in an attempt to increase the hourly charge by $30. The addition of a third worker quickly turn my house into a set for a scene in a Three Stooges film. A three-way shouting, yelling and arguing competition ensues the remainder of the day, highlighted by the slamming of items and the truck door. Then when everything is finally unloaded, the presentation of the bill feels more like a ransom note being given to a bank teller. After negotiating costs, a compromised total equalling 150% MORE than the estimate is reached. This is even more embarrassing considering the use of a third worker that we refused to pay for. Imagine my bill had they been successful in running all of their tricks of the trade? Obviously, Lausch's will not be getting any future business from us and I can't caution future potential customers enough to look elsewhere. Seek out a reputable company that understands how to estimate costs, follow through on agreed upon fees and respects the intelligence of their customers. read more

I had a good experience with this company and should've just booked them from the get go. I needed an upright piano moved from about an hour away and it had to go up a flight of stairs. I had quotes that varied from up to $100 lower to over $300 higher than what this company quoted me. The lower priced ones were from companies that I ended up finding unprofessional and they would never get back to me with a firm date. I went with this company because they were on the lower end of the quotes that I got, they seemed knowledgeable on the phone, they scheduled quickly, and it wasn't such a hassle. You do have to play a little bit of phone tag with them but they're prompt with returning calls. Day of, they showed up around the time they said and picked up the piano efficiently. When they arrived at my place, they didn't know it was upstairs. I felt bad for the guys that actually had to do it (although I had mentioned the stairs when scheduling so there was miscommunication somewhere). Nonetheless though, they figured it out quickly and got the piano upstairs in record time. The cost was the exact same as the estimate. All in all, I was very happy with them and I would book them again next time. End of the day, piano got where it needed to and nothing was damaged--that's all I wanted. read more

I had a terrible experience with this company. If 0.5 of a star was available, I don't think that I'd give them that! I had to pack, store and move within a 10 day time frame. The secretary lost my information at first, and I was worried that I didn't have any one to move me. They packed my house on a Friday and moved my belongings into storage on a Monday. They left numerous items behind in my basement, etc. Very difficult for me to keep track of 6 guys by myself. I was very clear on what was to be stored and what stayed behind. I was told it was my fault and I didn't communicate well enough. I moved into a brand new town home and they took 2 chunks out of my wall and 1 chunk out of my ceiling with my headboard. When asked to just please be careful moving forward, I was told they would leave all big items in the driveway and not bring them in the house. Then they broke my chest of drawers somehow and I was told they would send out someone to fix it. Never happened. I'm still waiting a month later for them to even look for a box that didn't make it to the house with my Cephelon pots in it. I doubt I'll ever see them again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

Our situation moving an elderly family member was a little different from the usual move. It all happened very quickly, and, because of the situation, I had to contact the office several times with questions. I assume it was the receptionist/office manager I spoke to each time, but it was obvious that she quickly became irritated by my calls and questions. We were scheduled at 1 p.m. as the 2nd move of the day. But, the day of the move, the movers arrived at 9 a.m.! Apparently their 1st move in the morning was cancelled, but no one had called to inform me of the change. Circumstances were such that we just couldn't do it then, so they said they would come back at 1 p.m. as scheduled. But 1 p.m. came and no movers. By 2 p.m. we had called the office a number of times, but no one answered. About 2:10 the receptionist/office manager called to say the crew would be there sometime soon, but it was almost 3 p.m. when they finally arrived. I would've given Lausch's 1 star because of the lack of communication from the front office (it added a lot more stress to an already stressful day), and also because being impatient and irritated with a customer who needs assistance is not good customer service. However, I gave them a 2nd star because they did fit us in quickly and the crew that moved our stuff was friendly, pleasant, and did their job well. read more

This is a night and day experience! The first move went very well, the crew was polite, hard working, generally careful and things went well. Because of that, I hired them for a subsequent move expecting the same. Was totally 180 degrees about face. Were not prepared, had to wait for the wardrobe boxes (evidently somebody dropped the ball) ended up with many pieces of furniture damage. The lead person spent half the time whining and complaining about being hurt and was little help. The young guy spent most of his time texting to the girlfriend. There are times when an experience with a company is so outrageous and egregious you are compelled to write a review. You feel it is your responsibility to warn other unsuspecting potential customers about doing business with them, because it is your opinion this company has no right (based on their treatment of you) to exist. I put furniture from my parent's home in storage with Lausch's in December 2010. I moved the contents to my home i September, 2015. There were 2 pieces missing, a bureau and a 40' round table. They did deliver a bureau which was mine, but also delivered one which did not belong to me. I had them return the one and waited for them to return mine plus the table. The owner said they moved warehouse locations and had misplaced other people's furniture(doesn't make you feel very confident,does it?). After 6 months of apparent obstructing, lying, and just incompetence they wrote me a letter saying I must have sold my things to someone else( seriously they actually said that). I spent almost $5000 in 5 years with moving and storage, and would have settled for a few hundred dollars, but they chose to stonewall. So apparently, they are not only bad business people, but they are apparently stupid. I was told by a receptionist, that the place was so disorganized , they fired the person who was in charge of it an hired someone new. However, the new person proved no help and threw the responsibility back on the owner. I also called the local police and they acted as if they were not surprised by how I was treated. Imagine, a moving company on the radar of the local police. You certainly have the right to do business with anyone you choose. However if you choose Lausch's, don't say you weren't warned. read more
