OK, so I was a little bit hungry today. Mom and I ordered 2 sandwiches to go. We ordered 1 whole chicken salad sandwich, and a separate sandwich (2 halves-1/2 pimento cheese, and 1/2 egg salad). OMG! They were all very very tasty. I love supporting local. We ordered to go, and enjoyed them here at home. Love this place! I started working near The Square a few months ago and I walk here at least once a week on my lunch break. My favorite thing about this place is their specials menu. There is always a new selection of yummy hot soups, chilled soups, salads, congealed fruit salads, and more. I get the Morgan's Trio. I always have the chicken salad (Iv'e tried the tuna salad, and egg salad, but chicken salad's the best!), and then choose two items from their daily specials menu. You also get a choice of yeast roll, jalapeño cornbread, or a muffin. Sometimes the wait for the food is a little longer than expected, BUT the girls here are very sweet and always hustling! Plus the food is always delicious and worth the wait, and the unique menu is refreshing. It's hard to get bored eating here. I never thought I'd eat "chilled raspberry soup" but I have...and it's fantastic! read more

We heard that Laurie's had new management as the previous owner had retired. We decided to see if it was the same quality. We are happy to report that the food was delicious as always. And the service was top notch. I had the Noah's Combo where you choose one item from group A & one from group B. I had the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich with a cup of very tasty Chicken Fodo (chicken soup w/small pasta noodles) soup. I choose a pecan muffin as my bread item. All exemplary. My better half choose the Noah Combo and got a 1/2 tuna sandwich w/broccoli salad & pecan muffin. Was also very good. Met the gentleman who now owns Laurie's. He is a very nice man and we hope he does well with this restaurant. Hope to eat here again soon. read more

Cozy atmosphere with old town charm! I had the burger on Texas toast and it was fantastic! Usually it comes with a sourdough bun however, I enjoyed it with the toast this time! Quiche you would die for, cobb salads made 100% the right way with fresh ingredients, sandwiches, soups, and so many other things. The chocolate cake and cookies are heavenly. Favorite lunch spot in Georgetown. Love how it makes me feel like I'm being taken care of by a southern style grandma. They've got old fashioned, antebellum-charmed foods here you won't find at many other places. Chilled peach soup, grape congealed salad, enchilada quiche, crab quiche, ham salad, meatloaf, 1886 chocolate cake, and an assortment of cobblers. Servers are friendly, atmosphere is quaint and the food is great. I wasn't sure how myself and my diverse (i.e. non-white) hipster crew were going to be received here, since this place is so old fashioned and Georgetowny, but everyone was very friendly and gracious, making us feel very welcomed. I will be back. I can not get enough of that broccoli salad and congealed salad. Sounds a bit off putting but, I assure you, it is delicious! read more

Wow, what an absolutely wonderful place this is! The food is so fresh that it beats every other place we have ever tried in Georgetown by a mile. We come there about once or twice a week for lunch. Their specials and their quiche are both wonderful! Their potato patties delight when eaten with sandwiches. The salads and dressings are just so tasty and fresh each and every time we are there. The staff is just so friendly, and the service is also pretty darned fast! The menu is not huge, but the food is always fresh and super tasty! You could not ask for a better meal any where in Georgetown, and we have grown to absolutely adore this place! The food is way better than some of the big name restaurants that serve American Food in Georgetown for sure. You just have to try this little restaurant, you will not be disappointed! This is our favorite place to eat in Georgetown and we eat out each day. I also just looked at the reviews and since the date when this owner took over, you just do not see any bad reviews! Ate at Laurie's by accident. Came downtown on a day date and the 1st place we were planning g to try was closed due to Covid. So glad it was, or we wouldn't have found this little gem. By far, one of the best burgers I've had in a LONG time. And the sweet potato fries were fresh and well cooked. Raspberry Lemonade was very refreshing! We love Laurie's and continue to go here time and again. It's a favorite spot for me and the kids and reminds me of going to the pharmacy for lunch with my mom in the 80s. They have a huge variety of different salads, soups and sandwiches and I love them their daily quiche and specials. The restaurant is clean and the staff is always exceptionally friendly. These reviews are all on point (except for the one star one where the person got mad about the "coup" they suffered due to unclear prices + tax....for real?) This place was super yummy! Due to some navigational errors on my part, we were just looking for a Starbucks on our way home from Austin (which was never found) but we decided to get lunch somewhere so we followed the sign for "shopping and dining." I love a small town square so we strolled a bit and found Laurie's. I got the quiche of the day (green chili chicken) and tortilla soup. The quiche was cheesy and popped with the green chili flavor and corn and the crust was delicious. The soup was super smokey and a bit spicy (sometimes food like this can be kinda bland so I was pleasantly surprised.) The corn muffin was good as was the yeast roll (I got my husband's.) He had the chicken salad and cheesey potato soup and said they were both great, too. Two tasty lunches with coffee and tea and only $20? Love it even more! My absolute favorite place to eat in Georgetown! I tried to go here once a week when I went to Southwestern and make sure to stop by every time I'm in town. The chicken salad is to die for. I crave it all the time now that I'm so far away. Paired with the complimentary crackers, it is heavenly! I love how there are pecans and bacon in it. You also can't go wrong with an order of the Texas toothpicks (fried jalapeno goodness). Fridays are my favorite days because Cherry always has either crab or seafood quiche on hand. This place is consistently great in terms of food and service. Cherry comes by the tables a bit too often but it only means that she cares a lot about her customers. If you are ever in Georgetown, this is a must-try and a good idea to make it a tradition. read more
