Every single week we are blown away by the flavor, creativity, and care she puts into her cooking. Her meals are so good that we honestly no longer want to eat out. The food she prepares for us at home is consistently better than what we would order at restaurants, and that says everything. Each dish feels intentional, nourishing, and beautifully balanced, with just the right touches to make it feel special without ever being heavy. Every meal has been outstanding, and the consistency is what truly sets her apart. Chef Steph has completely changed the way we eat at home, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her. If you are considering working with her, do it. You will not be disappointed.

I never thought I'd be able to justify the luxury of a private chef service, but I keep this…read moreservice as a lifeline in my back pocket for weeks that we just need a little extra help, like when the demands of parenting and working during a global pandemic seem extra burdensome. So far, we've had three appointments, and they've all been wonderful. For each one in advance, you choose the time/date for your chef, three entree items and three sides. The "sides" is a bit of a misnomer, as you can often make meals of these in themselves. They include salads, hot breakfast casseroles, pies, and more. Recipes range from Mongolian Beef to Shepherd's Pie, homemade granola bars, Thai Chicken salad, etc. I imagine if we did this weekly, the options might get monotonous, but doing it every once in a while works out well for us so that there are usually a few new options that appear the next time we're ready to book an appointment. For each item you'll see an estimate on how much extra it will add to your bill in groceries in addition to the base chef cost. The chef will stop at your local HEB to shop for your ingredients fresh right before your appointment. You pay a $35 deposit, which you can get refunded if you cancel the appointment by the stated deadline (and they send you frequent reminders -- they're not trying to pull one over). On average with tip and the cost of groceries, we usually spend around $225 for our family of four. The meals last us a while. Sometimes we share them with friends who could use an extra meal, or sometimes we freeze the leftovers. There are instructions for reheating, freezing, etc. As stated in other reviews the chefs are generally efficient and very tidy, leaving your kitchen looking spotless, with a huge amount of prepared food for you to enjoy (it's hard not to dive right in). Communication by text is great. During COVID, the chef has worn a mask during the appointment and the service has had very clearly communication about canceling in the event of COVID exposure, etc. I appreciate that they're taking it seriously. If I had a couple of critiques, it would be that whatever process gets communicated to the chef regarding ingredients might need to be streamlined. The past two appointments, our chef has had to make a couple of grocery store trips because he forgot items, and this prolongs the preparation process. I would also love to see a bit more variety to the menu options. It would be nice to have it broken down roughly by type of dish (seafood, beef, casserole, etc.) and price (budget friendly or special splurge). Other than those minor tweaks, we love the service, and I imagine we'll keep using it as occasional customers.

One of my friends is vegetarian and the other is gluten free. I don't eat bell peppers and limit my dairy intake so this place ended up being perfect! So many delicious items and all for just $16! I had the hibiscus tea and it was delicious as well. The person at the register was super helpful and explained everything. They had a menu of the day so everything was made fresh. The menu was hand written! We were able to sit outside under a covered area which was nice when the rain came down a bit. It was a lovely day to sit outside in the evening. I look forward to having another meal here again. As a long time Austinite who maybe ate her a few times 15+ years ago, I'm glad it's still around and serving great, vegan, and healthy food!

The food was simple, healthy, and delicious, and I had a great time consuming everything from vegetables to legumes to tea. One meal portion was $16 per person and I was served a plate of food that contained sauteed vegetables, salad, lentils, and steamed vegetables with sauces. Everything was delicious. Since I normally loved cooking vegan at home, some of what they served here, especially lentils, matched exactly what I would have cooked. The soup and tea were amazing as well, and there was a piece of paper on the table with explanations about the tea. Even on a Monday in December, this place had everything that I needed. There was a hammock outside, a path to walk on, and a bulletin board with flyers advertising all types of local events that were along the lines of healing and inner peace. That further solidified my perceptions about how this place would attract people whose energies aligned with what this place was trying to surround itself with.

It's quite dark inside where we were sat, and thats coming from a 40year old who doesn't require glasses. You could easily dress up or keep it casual and still feel comfortable. Parking is free, which is always a plus, but the lot is pretty small. One thing we appreciated is that all steaks come with full sides! Service was friendly, but slower than expected. It took about 10-15 minutes before we were greeted at the table, and while we had noted the anniversary in the reservation, it wasn't acknowledged or brought up. Not a dealbreaker, but something we were hoping for given the occasion. Even throughout the evening it seemed rather slow. Food-wise: * Dinner Rolls - Cute, small with good flavor, though the exterior was a bit tougher than preferred. * Buffalo Lamb Chops - Fun concept and flavor, but the lamb was gamier and tougher than expected. The dipping sauce, however, was excellent. * Filet Mignon - We were told this was their top quality cut. It was good and a fair price for the size, but didn't wow me. * 16oz Ribeye - Our favorite of the night. Better flavor and texture than the filet. * Seared Zucchini - Loved this. Great taste and sear. * Roasted Broccolini - Super crispy florets -- a win. * Asparagus with Chimichurri - Good snap. * Brownie Pie - Served hot and we added ice cream. Basically a delicious chocolate lava cake and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, it was good, just not mind-blowing or the best steakhouse experience we've had, especially given the reputation. That said, we'd come back for the ribeye, veggie sides, and dessert.
