I appreciate the time and effort that went into making this custom birthday cake. Unfortunately, I…read morewas disappointed with the finished decoration, especially considering the price I paid. The "Happy 36th Birthday" writing was very difficult to read, particularly the "36th," because there wasn't quite enough space between the edible image and the border of the cake. I had actually suggested placing the edible image on the side of the cake, using the full height of the cake, which I felt would have allowed the birthday message to be larger and easier to read. I left it up to their discretion. I also paid extra for the edible image. I understand that the photo I provided had a white background, but I feel that trimming some of the excess white around the image would have made the presentation look much cleaner. There was also white from the edible image visible around the frosting piping, which made the finished product look less polished. I don't expect a custom cake to be perfect, but I do expect the finishing and presentation to reflect the price of a custom order. Unfortunately, in this case, I don't feel that the cost of the cake was reflected in the level of decoration or attention to detail.

I love a good almond croissant and chocolate croissant, but of course by the time I decided to stop by in the afternoon, they were all gone. Next time I know to arrive earlier in the day!
