Smith & Smith Farms and Hackamore Ranch. Got my eggs, which were a little smaller this week, but with that is also a price break. $5.00 each dozen. Also got some ground lamb and cubed steak. I think it took me longer to find parking than it actually took to get what I needed. The parking is always hard down here, which is why I'd rather go to the Cedar Park location. I should be good for the week.

Farmers markets are supposed to be welcoming, family-friendly spaces where local vendors, farmers, nonprofits, faith groups, and community members can come together safely and respectfully. Unfortunately, I witnessed something that made the environment feel anything but welcoming. There was a small religious group with a table at the market, and as someone passed by, they shouted offensive racial and religious slurs at the men working the table. It was completely uncalled for. Rather than engaging in any kind of respectful conversation, this person chose to be hateful and intimidating in a public community space. I understand that the organizers may not be able to identify or remove every person who behaves this way, but I do think the market should be more proactive about making its expectations clear. A farmers market should feel safe for everyone, including vendors and community organizations that may be more likely to face harassment. Clear signage, public reminders, or stronger policies against hate speech and intolerance would go a long way. I hope the organizers take this seriously and make it clear that racism, religious intolerance, and harassment are not acceptable at this market. The community deserves a space that truly feels supportive, inclusive, and safe for all.

I still like the vibe, and walk around and see and talk to people. I did get dumplings because I love Red Dragon. I wasn't even hungry. But I didn't want to miss out. The dumplings are 6 for $12.00 but they threw in an extra dumpling for me, which I appreciated. I got the pork dumplings. They were fresh, hot and steamy. I found a place to sit in the sun at a picnic table. Plugged in my head phone, cranked some music and enjoy my dumplings. Gorgeous day to be out in the sun. Nice breeze, and warm temps. Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

There's a great variety of stands to explore -- everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to homemade salsas, pastries (with both gluten and gluten-free options), bao buns, matcha, wines, and more. It feels like there's something for everyone! The owners are so friendly too and very welcoming. What I really appreciate is how convenient the parking is. There are plenty of garage spots available, so you don't have to stress about finding a place to park. And since it's located right at The Domain, you can make a whole day out of it -- shop, eat, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun and laid-back weekend outing!

SOCO (South Congress) Makers Market focuses on vintage wear and the arts. The market includes an assortment of vintage clothing (jeans, tops, bottoms, belt buckles, etc.) It spans from a church down to the House of Epstein. There is also a nice selection of jewelry as well. Interestingly, the market has a nice selection of cowboy/cowgirl boots for you boot skootin' pleasure. All the vendors at the market were extremely helpful and personable. I have gone to a ton of consignment and vintage stores, and service is one of the delineators for this market. They delighted in answering questions regarding their goods. The bonus play: They had a barrel of "free" Rambler sparkling water for their customers. Such a nice touch... Only one regret...that I had not visited sooner.

They set the wares out on racks so you can check them out from traffic or afar. They offer a bunch of denim and some boots, and some western accessories. The spot is rented from the local church, and they've turned a previously brown patch of grass into a fun and inviting place. There's no restroom. When I went, the clerk was pretty aloof, which was alright with me, since I was just browsing. Didn't get anything. This is all kinda impulse buy stuff. I don't think anyone wakes up and says that they're gonna come here for some bedazzled purse or something. Parking here is a serious challenge. There's only back-in parking along this section of South Congress.

Have you experienced live music at a farmers market? Until I stepped foot into the Texas Farmer's…read moreMarket, I had not. What a pleasant surprise! This was the largest farmers market I have visited in the Austin metroplex specifically in Cedar Park, TX. The vendors were so numerous that you could scan the layout via QR code at the market's entrance. The Texas Farmer's Market had everything you could imagine including composting, regeneration (learned something new), bread, bakeries, meats, just to name a few. Quite honestly, I was overwhelmed initially. Then I paced myself. The market had regenerative eggs. I asked, "how do you get regenerative eggs?" Apparently, you regenerate the chickens by allowing them to roam more loosely and changing their location approximately every 3 days...fascinating stuff! Like any farmers market there were a ton of samples. Surprisingly, there were very few fruits and vegetables. When we lived in Bellevue, WA virtually all the farmers market had mostly organic fruits and vegetables. Service by the various vendors were rather friendly. Next time, I need to allocate more time for exploring. Huge farmer's market...

I get lamb meat too, and sometimes I get something new. I do love the tortillas Mesocano. Made with tallow, or butter, or lard. The butter is great for breakfast. But mostly I like the tallow. I also got rosemary focaccia bread from Texas French bread company. I always feel these ladies that work here are a little rude. They will not sell before 9am. Even though only one is setting up and the other is just standing there. I'm not sure why 2 people can't help 1 customer each. I was being helped while the other watched and there was a line behind me. It's a turn off. I rarely eat bread. Rosemary focaccia doesn't have a rosemary flavor. Pure Luck has their strawberry chèvre again. And I love it. So amazing on crackers. They won 4 awards in 2026! Impressive for sure. And rightfully earned.
