I am not sure who is writing the 5 star reviews . After Dr Davey retired from this practice we…read morestayed to become patients of Dr Levi. This was a bad mistake. The office is run down, and the practice is soley focused on making money, NOT patient care. The desk staff is disorganized and the tattooed hygienist is heavy handed , rough, and very rude. All she cares about is shoving Covid disclaimer pads in your face to be signed , not cleaning your teeth. She failed to bring an abcess I had brought to the dentist's immediate attention and I now face expensive implant surgery. We are at a new dentist now who discovered the X-rays taken were not properly done. There are a number of expensive procedures we will have to get . Go elsewhere if you value your teeth.

I saw Dr. Levi for the first time on 6/24/22 since I had been a patient of Dr. Davey whom Dr. Levi…read morehad bought the practice from. At that visit, I had tooth pain on the lower right side of my jaw, and I had told Dr. Levi that it was hard for me to tell exactly what tooth the pain was radiating from. After an exam by Dr. Levi, x rays were taken of tooth #30 and I was told by Dr. Levi that the tooth #30 was healthy and perhaps my tooth pain was caused by plaque buildup, even though I had a professional hygeine cleaning a month earlier. After that visit, I still had a toothache on the lower right side and two weeks later, a severe toothache on the lower right side of my mouth. Dr Levi referred me to an endodontic dentist for a root canal on tooth #30. As it turned out, the tooth that needed the root canal was in fact tooth #31, and the x rays that were sent to the endodontic dentist were not only of the wrong tooth, but the x rays were done so poorly that not even the root of the tooth was visible. If you value your teeth, find a different dentist!

I had only had two cavities my whole life. I know it sounds like I misunderstood her, but I had the care estimate when I left. Its a very large practice, so maybe they confused my X rays with someone else's. Or they just were not being honest. I continued to take excellent care of my teeth, and two years later, had no issues with my "9 cavities". I trusted my instinct, had no tooth pain before I saw this dentist, and had no tooth problems in the two years in between that visit and my appt. with Dr. Bauer. When I went into Dr. Bauer and he did a professional assessment of my teeth, miraculously the cavities that I supposedly had ALL went away. Kind of shocking actually that this other dentist would do something like this, and I can't give them the benefit of the doubt. 4k is 4k. This was their estimate for my 9 cavities. In addition to him not trying to fill mystery cavities, he and his staff were professional, and I was in and out in an hour with a basic cleaning, new x-rays, and kept my 2 cavity winning streak. I'll definitely be referring my business and now have a great dentist here in MV. Thanks Dr. Bauer!

Stay away from this doctor if you are immunocompromised and need your doctor to wear a KN95 or N95…read moremask. I am immunocompromised so I cannot afford to catch COVID again. All my other doctors who I see in office are willing to wear an N95 mask for the short time I am with them in order to keep me safe. Not this doctor. I asked about his office protocols and requested, for safety purposes: masking in office, maintaining air flow, and letting me know if they had had any recent exposure to someone with COVID. Asking about precautions is especially important for chronically ill people in a dentist's office because it is not a medical setting in which we can protect ourselves the way we usually do--with our own masks--so a bit of extra caution is needed on the part of the dentist. Dr. Solow told me that they do wear masks in office. He did add in a thoughtful touch as well, which was that he could offer an N95 to any patients waiting in the waiting room while I was there. That was encouraging. He told me he could follow all the other requested precautions except informing me about Covid exposure since that's impossible to know (I had meant more a super obvious exposure to someone who has Covid, but yes, fair enough). I was set for my appointment in 3 days, which I had made 5 weeks ago. However, when I asked what masks they use, he told me they only use level 3 surgical masks, and would not be willing to swap one out for an N95 mask (the standard), despite the fact that they have them on hand in the office. He told me then I could cancel my appointment if I wanted. Level 3 surgical masks fit very loosely, have unreliable filtration and only protect against large particles, not aerosols, which is how COVID is spread. He told me that the N95 mask hurts to wear one with the surgical telescopes. It is disappointing that Dr. Solow is unwilling to adjust his usual protocols for a 30 minute appointment to help me feel safe. I had seen him once, before I became ill, and he was a very thorough and well spoken doctor. I had hoped to continue seeing him as my dentist. Considering how unwilling he was to make the most slight change to his mask protocols for the brief period of his day that I am in his dental chair, I have decided to move on. I do not believe it is too much to ask doctors to protect the lives of their patients. Do no harm means protecting immunocompromised patients, too. It shows a carelessness for my health, and a disregard for me simply as a person who wishes to not become further disabled. I do not want such a dynamic in a patient doctor relationship. As a sick person, this kind of interaction with a health professional makes you feel disposable. There are many dentists who wear N95s that I have already found today after canceling our appointment, to whom I will bring my business. One of the other dentists I spoke to today agreed that it was quite uncaring not to offer to do this for a patient. Sometimes you do small things for people that may seem like a slight inconvenience for you, but for them mean so much. In this instance, wearing an N95 for the doctor apparently hurts a bit, but for me, getting ill again could have grave consequences. This was clearly not of concern to Dr. Solow. Now I will have to establish care with a new dentist. If you are immunocompromised, chronically ill, and/or are a caretaker for someone who is, or if you're just plain Covid cautious, do not go to this doctor. Otherwise, he's a very good dentist.
