I don't know why but this place was nicer than expected as far as seating and ambiance. It's cafeteria style food with daily specials. The staff were really nice. Your food will come on a styrofoam plate with plastic ware no matter if taking to go or eating in. They bring your food to the table but that's it as far as waiting. You get your own drink and condiments. The fried chicken was like a much better version of Popeyes. Everything was seasoned well with a little spice. The gravy wasn't quite to my taste but it was still good. Would definitely go back again.

This was a Togo order. The service was really good for my first time. The restaurant looked clean and very lively for a Thursday lunch. I got the stuffed turkey wings with rice n gravy, corn and their version of Mac n cheese. Let's just say, I should've ordered double corn and led the Mac n cheese for those who have a pallet for this version. It was one big wing that covered the entire plate. It was flavorful but a little dry. I would order it again. The corn was top 5 I e eaten. This cheesecake took me by surprise because it is a little pricey for the portion size that you get. when I bit into it, I was more upset because I wanted more of the cheesecake and I felt the price should come with a pie size slice, lol.

This place is truly a local gem and I could feel the Black excellence and legacy as soon as I entered. I cannot recommend this place enough--Laura's Two is a spot that dishes out delicious soul food in the heart of Lafayette. Not only is the food fresh and made-to-order, the staff is also friendly and extremely efficient at communication. There is a bit of a wait if you're ordering things like catfish or fried chicken, but the sides are already cooked and ready for the taking. We especially enjoyed the shrimp and grits, mac and cheese (the best I've had in my entire life!), and the rice and gravy. My husband also enjoyed his catfish and while my stuffed turkey neck wasn't super flavorful, it was very tender with pieces falling off the bone. All in all, I really enjoyed the food, the hospitality and the heavy portion sizes served up at Laura's. The dining area is also very comfy and the bathrooms are cozy and clean. We're already planning another a trip so we can go back and try more items like the fried chicken or the meatball stew!

I haven't been in a good while and they did not disappoint. This is some of the best food cooked with love in Lafayette. Everything is always so delicious. All of the ladies who work there are very friendly and welcoming. The foods at the counter looked so delicious. I did order a chicken fried steak though which they cook to order. Tue vegetables were like grandma used to make, so good. Green beans were fire. It is a smaller place so if you don't get there early you may have to wait for a table but I was first in line so no issues. I will be back soon. I have missed it so.much.

I was reminded by a popular streamer about the great shrimp and grits which I had not tried yet, but I quickly remedied this overnight. I arrived early and received the same home greeting that Laura's is known for as well as the great food. I ordered the Catfish which was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, but the seasonings the seasonings was perfection and the fillet was more than filling. Do not forget I came for the Shrimp and Grits, absolutely the best I've had, the seasoning with spice and enough of the sauce to mix into every bite, the shrimp was perfection, the grits cooked in a way that soaked up the savory sauce. Just a great experience. Tip if you haven't been there, you can eat at the table, as they will call when you're order is ready, as most order takeout. This should be on all foodies list for Lafayette.

We've had this restaurant on our list "to try" fr awhile now. So glad we finally did! SO, So friendly!! All smiles as soon as you walk in! Had the stuffed turkey wings, cabbage, rice and gravy, and red beans. Delish!! And huge portions! Next time I'll try the cake too - was too full this time around.

I do not live in Lafayette but, my entire family does. So, I have been visiting multiple times a year my entire life. However, I've only been to Lauras once in my 31 years...a shame. This past Sunday, I wanted to eat well and bring my great aunt something filling and soulful. It was only 11:45a so, I figured the time a day provided a great opportunity to try the famous " Lauras Two". When I arrived, on Sunday, the line was just into the dining room--not too bad--but I did see a few people leave because of the wait. Trust me, though, this is the kind of food worth standing in line for! (And yes, I've heard the line can sometimes stretch all the way to the exit, so go prepared.) I ordered the famous stuffed turkey wings with rice dressing, green beans, and sweet potatoes. Adding extra gravy on top of the rice dressing was a great call--highly recommend it! The turkey was seasoned to perfection, which is no small feat since turkey can sometimes be bland. Laura's Too, however, nailed it. Every bite was flavorful, and the sides were just as satisfying. To top it off, I tried the featured dessert, a pecan cheesecake, which was the perfect sweet finish to an incredible meal. If you're looking for authentic, well-seasoned Southern food that hits all the right notes, Laura's Too is the spot. Just be ready for a bit of a wait, especially on Sundays, but once you taste the food, you'll know it was worth it. Highly recommend!

Traveling home from to Houston from work. I found them gem by accident. I'm glad I stopped, the food is everything. You will not be disappointed with flavor and spices. The atmosphere is inviting, the guest eating all welcome you. It is a relaxed and clean establishment. You can't beat the greeting when you walk in, of them wanting to have you here, and asking where you are visiting from. I will be back soon and I am taking other dishes home to try! The food was as delicious as the reviews indicated. We were a party of 3 and were all impressed with the food, seasonings, and portions. We all left with a bag. Dinner is ready. Service was as expected, servers were there when we needed them. There was ample seating. The prices were a little surprising for lunch. Nothing is under $17. We will be returning, because we enjoy eating food prepared with love and served with kindness, and I forgot to purchase a T-shirt.

Best soul food in the United States, I've been to 40/50 states and this is easily in my top 3 of all time plates I've tried. Don't walk, RUN here. Customer service is very friendly. Will travel back to Louisiana for this alone.

First off, I'm not a soul food kind of person but their stuffed turkey here is delicious. The turkey was tender and did not taste fattening at all. I actually finished my entire turkey even though it was a large portion! I also got corn and coleslaw as my sides and they were both on point. Killed it. We're from out of town and my husband must have Laura's when we're in town (he likes their fried porkchop & red beans). The reason I give four stars instead of five is because I would like more entree options to choose from. read more

Oh my goodness felt like I just ate at my granny's house. Fried chicken, rice with this amazing gravy, butter beans, corn and hot roll. Oh so yummy and the ladies were so sweet. I love the south! Now back to Austin where the food is great but southern charm is lacking. read more

Friendly smiles and welcomes from the second I walked in not only from the employees but from the customers happily waiting in line for service! The atmosphere reminded me of the pleasantries of my grandmothers kitchen I immediately knew the food was going to be good, I was wrong it was Outstanding! The Baked Turkey was cooked to perfection, seasoned with love, and the meat fell off the bone . I almost didn't want to leave! not only is the food a delicacy the service is great and the portions are enough for lunch and dinner. I love this place so much! I live for the seafood okra side that they have every Friday- it's smothered okra with sausage and crab legs in it. They've recently started serving whole fried fish (with the bone in) which is crazy flavorful. My go to is a double order of smothered okra, with a fried catfish filet. Their pork chop is pretty amazing too. To be honest, you really can't go wrong with any of the items on their menu! read more

Came here late in the afternoon the day before Thanksgiving from Baton Rouge. Laura's typically closes at 2:30 Monday-Saturday. The only thing they had left in terms of entree was fried pork chops or fried catfish. In terms of sides, the only things they had left was mac & cheese, baked beans, and rice dressing. I went ahead and got the fried pork chops. It came with baked beans, mac & cheese, rice dressing, and a dinner roll. We had to wait a little while for the pork chop since they were fried fresh. If you are looking for some authentic soul food, this is the place to go. Food was good. The mac and cheese was a little bland, but a little Tabasco fixed that problem for me. I warn you now though that it is fattening so if you are on a diet and looking for a cheat meal, I would definitely recommend that you come here! If you are in the Lafayette are, you should definitely check this place out for some awesome soul food. I heard the turkey wings are really famous so get there early to get your fix. read more

Not gonna lie, reason why i stopped by this place cause of bizzare foods of america. I was watching tv one day and i saw how yummy the stuffed turkey leg looked, and i thought since lafayette is on the way from our road trip back home why not stop by and give it a try ? Im so glad we did. Service were really friendly and everything was so good and delicious. I ordered the stuffed turkey leg while my hubby ordered the fried catfish. He really enjoyed the fried catfish. said it was really nice and flavorful. In the near future, if I'm ever in the area id definitely stop by again. read more

This place will trash your diet! Have been eating at Laura's for years and have never had a bad meal, and have had everything on the menu. The biggest problem is if you're not there early they start running out of some things. The Barbecue on Sunday's sells out before noon so get there early. read more

Great plate lunches here. We came here for lunch and the line was a couple dozen people deep, but there's a reason. The food was top notch. I got the turkey wing, my father got the ribs and my friend got the fried chicken. It was all delicious. The rice dressing had a nice spice to it. Plenty of seating in the back, looks like most people just order to go. read more

I visited Laura's on 8/9/16, for lunch. I ordered the stuffed turkey wing plate. Although my food was really tasty, my turkey wings weren't stuffed. The taste of the wings made up for the missing stuffing. The portion was plentiful...really more than I can eat. The lady plating the food was very personable and concentrated on providing good customer service and getting the order right. The next time I'm in Lafayette, I will definitely visit Laura's Two again. If I could offer any suggestion, it is to offer at least one more vegetable option. Great food! read more

Only in Lafayette, This place is amazing! I would suggest the baked Turkey wing, rice and gravy. Be prepared for the Cajun spice, it's how we do it! Great atmosphere, unbelievable food, and down to earth people! I highly recommend it!!! read more

Best local eatery in town! Stuffed Turkey wings with dressing is a must have! The whole fried catfish is fresh and cooked to perfection along with all the sides options. Madonna and her daughter Lacy runs the place smooth and are always friendly and personable. When we travel from Los Angeles to visit our son Ragin Cajuns we eat here at least 2-3 times! Laura's II is a restaurant that should be added to your list of Restaurant's to visit while in Lafayette, LA. The shrimp was well seasoned, the corn macheaux was great, and the complimentary rice and gravy was tasty and spicy enough to clear your nasal passages. Meeting Madonna and the other ladies that were so eager to provide great service and be patient with tourist was a great compliment to great food. read more

The food is ok, nothing special. Horrible management!!!! After messing up our order twice, I made sure to let the manager/owner know I would not be returning. She followed me outside to the parking lot and preceded to yell at me and my friend, making a scene and a complete idiot of herself. I wouldn't waste my time here, try Dwight's or Noah's for great food AND great service!!!! read more

Plate lunch places are the closest you can get to home cooking, and Laura's is a great plate lunch place. It's a lot of fun to watch people struggle with their choices for the main course; when you see all the good food in front of you, it's hard not to want it all. Whatever you choose, they don't cheat you on the serving. I ordered fried fish once and they added an extra fillet because they thought the first one looked a bit too small (and it was pretty big!). Excellent people, excellent food. read more

I enjoy eating at Laura's Two Café when I have the opportunity. The food is well seasoned and flavorful. The only issue I have had when eating there is that they sometimes put sugar in their savory dishes. In particular, I do not like to taste of sugar in my cabbage, and that is a nightmare for diabetics who frequent this establishment. read more

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

They had mango, taro, and Thai tea when we came in. We had the mango with colorful boba (more similar to a jelly IMO) and taro with brown sugar boba. Both were delicious, not too sweet. Beverly took great care of us the moment we sat down! Being that it was our first visit, she guided us around the menu and gave us suggestions along the way. We wanted to try the Deep Sea but unfortunately they were out. However, per Beverly's suggestion we ordered the Shrimp Tempura and it was very good. The tempura was well seasoned and the fry was crispy but not dry. We also had the Cream Cheese Wontons, Panfried Colorful Dumplings Combo and Beef Roll. Personally, of the four dumpling fillings, beef was my favorite. All four starters are a good choice, but if you leave without trying the Beef Roll, you are doing yourself a disservice. About 25 minutes later, I get to the place and pick up the order and then get back to my hotel where I grub down. Both the dumplings and noodles are tasty good. The dumplings came in multiple colors with a nice crust on the bottom and packed with filling. I got caught off guard with the extra fried dough-residue attached to the dumplings but it didn't bother me. The order comes with 2 dumplings each of beef onion, pork scallion, chicken, and vegetable. The combo noodles has chicken, beef, and shrimp mixed in with onions and peppers and a soy-based sauce. IT's a hefty portion that gave me lunch for the next day. I'll have to try the noodle soups and other dumplings next time I'm here. Overall a solid asian eats spot in Lafayette.

I was so excited to get an opportunity to to try this place on Monday bcz I was in town for my son's scrimmage game at University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Left home at noon and when I got there around 3:45pm on Monday. My heart sunk because they were closed on Mondays. Oh well maybe I'll get to try it during the football season this year.
