Warning!!! This doctor is rude and talked to patients with not respect and scarry temperamental attitude. I believe she is racist! I was waiting in the room for the results of my test, she get in quickly and with sharp and demanding tone of voice rudely asked what im here for. I asked for my results, she still loud said, I don't have it. She started questioning me quickly loud and rudely. I was shocked. I thought, this doctor had a bad day. I requested another doctor. She stand sharply with anger and loudly tone of voice said, be my guess! Grab the door and opened with anger attitude. I never experienced in my whole life such low class and unethical behavior of a doctor. Im a patient with leukemia and went through an emotional distress and left the office, but before I leave I request to talked the manager of the NVHC, but nobody came. This doctor should not talked patients the way she talk to me, she cused me so much stress. I cant speak a perfect English, but i still deserved respect. Just be ALERT OF THIS DOCTOR. read more

She left on maternity leave ftom the Manhattan Beach office. Dr. Conley has been amazing! I have seen so many other doctors but she is the only one I go back to. She takes her time, and I never feel rushed to talk about what is important to me. Dr Conley is awesome, BUT UCLA Management & Billing are AWFUL!!!!! Many months after Dr. Conley went out on medical leave, and UCLA management has yet to replace her with a Doctor or adequately care for her existing patients. UCLA Billing routinely over bills by several decimal points. I hope Dr Conley leaves this awful bureaucracy and opens up her own practice because she is an excellent doctor who cares about her patients. read more

I switched doctors a few months ago, although I really like Dr. Conley. One of my biggest issues was the wait time. Every single time I went to see her, which was a handful of times last year, I had to wait over an hour. I think one time, I waited 2 hours! Even when I make appointments early in the morning, there always seems to be an emergency or some other reason that results in an hour delay. When I do finally get to see her, although she is always apologetic and very nice and likeable, I feel rushed since she is already so behind schedule. So a few months ago, I decided to switch doctors and went in for my yearly physical. I was really surprised by how much time the doctor spent with me and how much more thorough the physical exam was. I also realized, that in the past 3 years, I can't recall Dr. Conley giving me a breast exam, which should be done routinely for all women in their 30s. I really think it's because she is always so behind schedule so she skips what she considers to be low risk. Overall, I still like Dr. Conley and think she is a nice and caring doctor. I just wish she would schedule fewer appointments so that she wouldn't fall so behind schedule and be able to spend a bit more time with patients. read more

Let's get the bad out of the way first. Yes, like most people mentioned you WILL wait a while to see Dr. Conley so clear your morning or afternoon. The first time I went in mine was the very first appointment and I still waited 20 minutes before I was called back. This last time I waited an entire hour and it wasn't until I asked the front desk how much longer did they advise Dr. Conley was an hour behind. Actually, one girl whispered to the other that she was 1 hour behind. I was simply told I was "next to be called." Besides the wait my only other complaint is regarding Dr. Conley's twit of an assistant. I'm guessing she's an intern? Maybe doing her residency? Whoever she is, nothing is likely to piss you off more than having someone with fire engine red hair and way too much cheap jewelry on smirk as you describe what's bothering you and dismiss it as "normal." Now on to the good....Dr. Conley is AMAZING! So much so that when she finally walks into the room you completely forget how pissed you were for waiting so long. She's very warm and sweet. She's patient and actually listens to your concerns no matter how minute. She'll discuss in detail whatever conditions you may have and the course of treatment she's planning. read more

Although I like Dr. Conley as a person we will not be going back to her again. I just wanted to share the facts of my visit. 1.) Waited over an hour to see her (waiting and exam room time). We both arrived to the office at the same time, I walked in behind her. Total time including waiting, appt & blood drawn 2+ hours. 2.) Although I was suppose to be able to see my test results online within 3 days they never appeared. Her office tried to help but were unable. 3.) After two weeks her office told me I could come pick up my test results, but the doctor was not going to call. 3.) It took 3 weeks to get my test results - they finally emailed & mailed to me with no explanation to what the results meant to me or my health. Just a list of tests and the results and the norm. 4.) She cancelled my boyfriend's appt two days out because she was going on vacation. read more

I think the first reviewer might be on crack because Laura Conley is THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER HAD. This is coming from someone who has seen a lot of physicians over the years (from UCLA to County hospital). Not only is she caring and compassionate, she clearly knows what she's talking about with regards to medicine. She will find out what's wrong with your body and she will spend the time needed to do so. I cannot recommend her highly enough. My family doctor of over twenty years retired recently and I had to find a new doctor for my year round physical. I adore Dr. Conley. She is a great listener and never rushes her patients. She is also "available" through email any time and responds quickly. She not only cares for me but also for my 91 year old mother-in-law. She also thinks the world of her which is high praise as she "prefers men doctors". I have been hesitant about writing this review for many, many months. Though as you can tell from my hundreds of Yelp reviews I believe in complete honesty, I have to admit it's hard when you're reviewing one individual person (and her office staff) instead of a big team at a restaurant or store. That being said, I think these kinds of reviews are maybe the most important because as I get older I'm realizing how difficult it is to get truly high quality medical care, and how much time can be wasted if you don't have the right doctor. I have to start off by saying that despite all of my issues with Dr. Conley, she really does have excellent bedside manner and a very welcoming attitude. That's a big part of the reason why my friend recommended her to me, and I saw from my first appointment that she's a joy to be around. She's friendly, warm, and really makes you feel comfortable. The problem is... well, basically everything else. First off, her staff. They're super unfriendly and unhelpful on the phone, and when you get there in person. I've always waited at least 45 minutes past my appointment time to actually see the doctor. That includes time waiting in the waiting room, and even sitting in a cold exam room in one of those paper robes. Last time I saw her I think I waited an hour wearing only paper, shivering on that exam chair, and not even with any magazines to read or anything. When she finally arrives she never has any apologies for the delay. She's fun and asks you about your life and compliments you on your nail polish, but she's always distracted and talking to tons of other people while she's examining you. At one appointment, an assistant walked in right in the middle of my annual exam (you ladies know what this means.. not a position you'd like to be in when someone swings the door wide open and starts chatting), then they proceeded to have a conversation right there in front of the stirrups. At this same appointment, the doctor and her intern talked to me at length about how gross it was that another patient came in with this ingrown hair. While it was an amusing story, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable that they were basically making fun of one of their other patients in front of me. She'll also rattle off a ton of referrals and prescriptions and then forget about them at the end of the appointment. I've had her send me on my way and I've had to come back and request the things she was supposed to fill out for me. All of these things are very annoying and probably cause for me to find another doctor, but the clincher was when I came in several months ago with a question about an unfamiliar bump on my leg. She gave me the wrong treatment, which didn't work but actually made things much worse. She refused to call me back no matter how many times I called her office wanting to talk about it. Meanwhile I had to pay hundreds of dollars (not covered by insurance) for a procedure that actually made me so much worse. After many months of struggling with insurance and other doctors I finally saw a surgeon who said right away that I needed surgery for it and that it could be a melanoma. He said it was irresponsible of my other doctors to ignore it and treat it so casually. And he said that my scar was much bigger than it needed to be because in the meantime, it had grown. Luckily it turned out to be a benign tumor, but just the thought that a doctor could look at something that could be deadly skin cancer and shrug just makes me super scared for all of her other patients. I'm so grateful now that I've finally managed to surround myself with amazing doctors that I love. (I'll be sure to write reviews about the ones I haven't yet because good doctors deserve as much Yelp attention as bad ones.) I still feel somewhat bad for calling out someone who really is a nice lady and probably a fine doctor in most cases. Who knows, maybe my 5 or so interactions with her were all rare... I still have other friends who go to her regularly and like her. But if I can complain about an overcooked steak or an overpriced shirt, then I feel the responsibility to be honest about a terrible medical experience I had too. read more

I hate to say this, but she is the worst doctor I've ever met!!! 1. She is VERY VERY IRRESPONSIBLE! I've never seen any doctors like her. I had an ultrasound a month ago, and I was told by the nurse that Dr. Conley would let me know the result in a couple of days. I had been waiting for three weeks, and no one called at all. I called the office, and the receptionist said that he would send Dr. Conley a message and that she would get back to me within that day. She did not call back. I called the office again during that week. I was told the same thing, yet she did not call. I called the THIRD time. Once again, she DID NOT respond. This is unimaginable! I just don't understand how can a doctor be so irresponsible like this!!! 2. Her waiting time has been outrageously LONG. It took me TWO hours to wait for her the first time I went to see her. Neither the staff or Dr. Conley showed any sign of apologies. They just took it for granted. 3. She tends to be careless and does not keep up with things she promised. At one point, she agreed to request an authorization for me so that I could go for an important test. She simply FORGOT! I was foolishly enough waiting for nearly three weeks until I realized that the request wasn't never made when I called them. 4. The font office is unfriendly. Oftentimes, you would hear them chatting and laughing loudly. read more

Dr. Conley is the BEST doctor I have ever had!! She is kind, caring, knowledgeable and plain right AMAZING. Very sad to see her leave UCLA MB - as now I am on a quest to find a doctor as amazing as her. Thankfully though I will no longer have to deal with UCLA. Dr Conley is the best!!! I have had juvenile diabetes most of my life, and as such, I've been going to doctors regularly forever. Some are better than others, some care more than others, some are more attentive and on top of their game than others, some are more pleasant to see than others. Dr Conley excels in all of these areas. She genuinely cares about her patients and makes you feel that way. She is also very meticulous about making sure everything is done carefully and all test are properly run and properly evaluated. I love her. Unfortunately she has been moved to another office and is now pretty far away from me. Visit Dr Conley about a year ago for a routine checkup. 16 months later I'm still receiving bills. Here's the beak down: Wellness Exam, New Doctor $425.00 Meningitis Vaccine Solution $340.00 Blood Draw From Vein Or Artery $15.00 Basic Heart Test $75.00 Cholesterol Test $750.00 (billed out of network!?) So for a basic checkup, over $1500 and 5 separate bills for one 15 minutes checkup. To put this in context, I did my annual checkup this year at Dr. Keech. And received one bill for about $500, all in-network as promised. read more

Let's be honest - you're sick, you want to find a doctor that will treat you right away so you can go home and rest, or go shopping for retail therapy. I had an appointment with Dr. Conley and waited over an hour and a half to see her. My head was throbbing, my throat ached, I just wanted to get home or to downtown Manhattan Beach for some shopping. I am never going back. She's such a flake, unprofessional. I pretty much diagnosed myself, and she just nodded with a blank stare. And, really, don't BRUIN your life - UCLA sucks. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Conley for 4 years since I moved to MB and I agree she is the BEST Dr I have ever had. Not only is she so stinkin sweet she is extremely knowledgeable. I needed to see her once for a really horrible sinus infection. While I was in with her I told her about these little bumps I had on the back of my arms after the birth of my second child. I told her everything I read online and heard from my OB DR, was they were from my drop in hormones and there was nothing I could do about it. She told me she did her Thesis on the bumps and prescribed me a lotion that would help them go away. It worked like a charm!! Another time I needed to have a beauty mark removed from my side and went in to see if she could look at it.. She said to hang on and came right back in the room and removed it for me. I didn't have to make another appt or anything. I also have two small children 8 mos and 2 years. It's not easy to take them to the DR and have them sit and wait.. She is so engaging and loving to my children. She makes what could be a stressful time, easy. She also will always fit you in if you need a certain day or time. Her staff will call you back if they say they will. If you are looking for a DR or just are not 100% satisfied with your DR. Dr. Conley is amazing. read more

Dr Conley was the very best Dr I've ever been treated by. She actually was invested in her patients, which is amazing given the high productivity schedule UCLA demanded. I was SO sad to see her leave and have yet to find a replacement that can live up to her wonderful personality and bed side manor. My only complaint was actually on the UCLA organization. The turnover at the Manhattan Beach location is atrocious and as such, I've switched to the Torrance Memorial clinic. It also took me over a year to correct a billing issue. UCLA outsources their billing to some company in Sacramento. Not only does the company having terrible customer service, they are also awful at billing. They tried to bill my insurance company for an in-office hysterectomy. You read that right: IN-OFFICE. They claim was denied and so they tried to bill me for the procedure. I still have my uterus, never had a hysterectomy, and couldn't get them to fix the issue for 16 months. UCLA, you need to step it up because it looks from these comments, you are losing patients left and right. read more

I went to Dr. Conley for a routine physical (first time visit), and with a new complaint of back pain. I waited to see her for about 25 minutes in the exam room, then she spent about 8 minutes in the room with me, without having touched me once to examine me. No physical exam. Just a quick referral for a myriad of radiology tests and an authorization for physical therapy. How would the physical therapist know what exercises I need? How would they know what they are treating??? How does she know that the physicaltherapy won't make my condition worse, without doing a physical exam on me? She certainly has a fan club based on the 6 previous reviews I read here, but I am wondering if there is any MEDICAL COMPETENCE behind these reviews, other than avid devotion to her personality/compassion. I found her easy to talk to as well, but I am not going to a physician for fun and friendly conversation. I am going to seek appropriate medical care that is based in a sound history and thorough physical exam. read more

Understandably, she is busy. But when you do have a question, she answers it intelligently and without making you feel rushed or that she's being inconvenienced. She loves medicine as well as her patients when a lot of doctors seem desensitized, which is also understandable as well. I went in to see Dr. Conley about 8 months ago. My Doctor of many years is going to retire soon so I was seeking a new doctor. No big issues with me ,just a check up .She seemed very nice at the time. My wife wanted to try a new doctor as well,so I had told her about Dr. Conley.She had a tinging feeling in her arm and a issue with the back of her legs. She made a appointment for a Wed . at 11:30 .We checked her out on YELP before see went and saw reviews that she very bad about appointments and keeping patients wanting for over a hr. past there scheduled time. My wife is very busy with work,so she called before she went over to check if she was running on time .They told her they could not tell that over the phone and to come on in. She gets there and they tell her it will be way over a hr. wait. She rescheduled for a 8:00 in the morning a week from then ,and they told her there will not be a wait at that time. Two days before her appointment and call and tell her that her appointment time has been canceled . My wife has all ready change her schedule at work twice with Dr Conley. I call the office and tell them the story that Im writing about.They tell me It will be 3 weeks for my wife to see Dr. Conley. They tell me they will call me back the next day after they leave this message with Dr. Conley. They never call me. I call three times and they promise to call me to fix this problem. They never call back . I call 1 more time and ask for Dr. Conley to call me. They tell me she will call. She never dose.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with Dr. Conley ever! I had wasted so much time on the phone with her people and my wife as well. So now, she is still in pain and we have to look else where for a new Dr. as you should as well. Though I really like Dr. Conley personally, I cannot understand a doctor who doesn't return a phone call. Getting test results from this office is a full time job and this doctor won't pick up the phone to tell her patients what any of it means. There is no reason that I should incur the additional expense of another office visit to ask very routine questions about test results and I find it insulting that several calls are required to even get a person at the front desk to say 'She won't be calling you and I don't know what any of these results mean.' I've never had a doctor who can't pick up the phone to answer a patient's basic questions. On another note, the wait times are ridiculous. In each visit I've had, a nurse seems tasked with keeping this doctor moving and frankly, 15 minutes is not enough time to schedule a patient when the doctor is chronically so late and seemingly unfocussed. read more
