So when we booked the venue..LAST YEAR..we were told we'd get the venue for 3 days of our choosing. We opted for Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Friday to set up, Saturday for the wedding and Sunday for cleaning/family gathering. This past Friday when we went to set up, the owner met us there. He told us his wife had made a booking error and had booked a graduation party for Sunday. He asked if we would mind cleaning the venue up after our wedding and told us how it shouldnt take long. We told him that really wasnt in our plans..because who wants to get married and then clean afterwards? He then says ok, can you come early Sunday to clean it. I said I didn't think thatd work..because again..wasnt in our plans! My husband & I sat and talked about it and decided we would ask if he would refund part of our money for the total inconvenience he was causing. Total cost was $2,000. $250 is refundable to everyone who cleans up after. So we decided to ask for an additional $250. Well..he did NOT like that idea. He said he'd toss it around & see about moving the grad party. I text him later in the day and asked if we were good to use it Sunday or if he was going to give us the $250 we asked for? This man proceeds to tell me how he paid for new mulch to be laid down this week, the $150 flowers he hung up and other upkeep and that the graduation party was still coming. He offered us $150 back because he said "I'm already not making much this week". He tried guilting us initially and then again about his maintenance like that was somehow my issue. And if I'm not mistaken ..he took two bookings for the same day which would mean he got paid twice for the same day & made more then he normally would have. I felt $250 was super fair considering he ruined all of our plans, making us clean after the wedding and change our Sunday plans..not to mention losing a whole day we paid for. And essentially TELLING US we couldnt have Sunday regardless. I just feel the whole ordeal was very unprofessional & showed a total lack of regard for a couple who chose his venue out of all the places we could have chosen. Long story short..WE made our wedding amazing and unforgettable but the owner really did us dirty and I wouldn't recommend anyone do business with someone who treats guests like that.

Bring cash for tipping... they make it clear that is expected so bring cash. If u go to mud show ...you might get muddy. This is great place to people watch ... that's all I'm saying about that . A kind employee offered to have them remade, and we gladly accepted. However, the replacement order was made incorrectly, and at that point we decided to simply eat what we were given. While both Grace and Emily provided outstanding customer service, the issues with the ice cream unfortunately put a damper on the end of our visit. As visitors from Oregon, we were excited to compare the experience to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. The visit started off wonderfully thanks to your staff, but the ending left us disappointed. Overall, we enjoyed our time, but in our opinion, Tillamook still holds the edge.

This opened last year, and I finally had a chance to go: plenty of time, and good weather on a faux…read morespring day. It's the newest of the Ohio state parks, and you can tell. They are still finishing up landscaping and doing other things on the grounds. The centerpiece is a large building reminiscent of a council house. There are several stories, above and below ground, so there's plenty to see. Allow about an hour for the interpretive center, and another hour or two to walk the prairies and down to the river if you want. If you don't go in the building, there are a few plaques outside that give a quick history and orientation. Plus, there are a few on the way to the river. Inside, there are many displays about native history, settlement, conflicts and treaties, the natural world, and much more. There's a re-created stream with native fish. There are many kid friendly displays, but also plenty of in-depth information for adults. There's a gift shop downstairs, of course. Super friendly and helpful staff. Upstairs, there is more history. In the basement, there are displays about current Shawnee tribal members, and reproductions of many old maps. Plus a meeting room. There's a video room, a reproduction wigwam, and so much more. Learned about Old Town, which was on this site, plus Tecumseh and other famous natives. Highly recommended, and I will be bringing Kid K here. There was a school group there while I visited, and it seemed like a good field trip for them. Closed Monday and Tuesday, and opens at 10 AM, so check hours. Smallish parking lot. They are currently building a bridge over the road, to have more access to town.

And refused that they had made a mistake. They gave me a rain check that only covers half of the 9 hole fee. Besides that the course was awful. Felt like I was golfing in a farm field. The cart paths were terrible too. Definitely will not be golfing here again.

We don't have many options down in Southeast Ohio and will travel each day to good 18 hole courses. Over the last 40 years we have developed a "list of the usual suspects" but leave room to rotate new options based on recommendations or scrambles our guys have played in. Last summer Crown Hill was added and I can say it has replaced another of our regular courses. It's a nice and fair layout that makes you think about your choices but leaves room to scramble for a saved par or bogie. The staff was friendly and the course in great shape. We will be back this summer!
