Staff explains they will waive a blue flag if somebody is being passed or lapped if another driver is more experienced than them. The hey also say that they will slow down go karts with contact. They do neither. Pre checks are not done to go karts after each race. Staff does not do the things they are supposed to for safety but they say something is damaged if there is any contact. Great experience karting for the first time, the track was so fun and the crew did a great job of explaining rules and ensuring I felt comfortable in the kart. However the lady at the front desk was so rude and for no reason. She was not friendly and was giving my friends and I attitude while checking us in. So I heard from a friend this was a fun place to go and not to far from where I live and it was a blast! There are so many different things to do when you go to the raceway besides Go Karting. There is Axe throwing, arcade area, laser-tag and so much more. Had such a great time go karting, it is inside so you don't have to worry about the weather and the go karts actually go pretty fast and you can drift around corners, I couldn't believe how much fun we had. This place is terrible, most of the staff are rude, unprofessional, racist and negligent, most of the karts are damaged and are rarely maintained, the employees are rude and blamed me for a crash that I wasn't involved in and then switched back and fourth between myself and another person, these employees are blatantly lying to your face and some these reviews may be botted. Most of the time that I came here for leagues, the employees were not doing anything listed in rules packet and there was a lack of rule enforcement, 2 side crashes happened 2 weeks apart. I almost decided to just get out of the kart because I genuinely thought I felt unsafe and I would die, in one of the league races I had whiplash for 3 days due to these negligent "employees" which are just 17 year old high schoolers who are clearly not qualified to work there, I may be a young kid but I know what is wrong with this dumpster fire of a place. Another example of this is when this "manager" named makai or Kai or whoever decided to lie in front of my family about a crash that happened he blamed me and then blames my brother and then can't choose a side. In the same race my kart had a power issue where the kart would randomly cut power and one of the employees said that "there is no karts available" when there was an entire row of karts, and these imbeciles did not try to open the pit lane when they knew about the issue. AWESOME...!!! FANTASTIC...!!! MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE IN COLUMBUS...!!! Best indoor kart racing track I've ever done. Love the electric karts. Smooth, FAST acceleration. NO FUEL FUMES! If you've raced indoor karts, you know what I mean. Did I mention these karts are fast...?!? A first class place. The owner, Rob Conrad, is a really nice guy and spent a bunch of money doing this place right. And... it really isn't that expensive if you buy the package and spread it over a few visits. We bought the 6 lap package (which comes out to $14 per 14-lap race), and a reasonable person would only do 2 or 3 laps max in a visit or you'd be sore for 2 days. They allow passing. Too cool. Too fun. Simply awesome. Possibly the best fun I've ever had for $14...! read more

Buckeye Raceway Electric Indoor Karting is a lot of fun if you are with good drivers and not a lot of people. The team at work decided to go here for an afternoon of fun and team building. It was a few dollars over $200 for three races for four people. Each race consists of 8-12 laps, apparently. The carts are super fast, electric, and a whole lot of fun. They have foot bowling, soon to be axe throwing and a few video games. It's in the worst part of town, close to the casino. I'm glad we went and I'd go again. I'm a fully grown man, 6'1" and 235 lbs and I was flying in these powerful cars. I was a bit motion sick afterwards, but I'm old. read more

At first I was a little skittish to try this thinking it's mostly for kids and stuff. But man was I wrong. The thing whipped and slid all over the place. Felt like I was in Tokyo Drift. Was decent price for 3 races compared to just one race. Never buy just one race. You will want to go again. I will be back. Thanks for making this a fun Valentines date for me. My family and I had SO much fun here. We've been here twice, and each time had been thrilling. The parking and registration/paying process is painless, and they are really great about getting you onto the racetrack quickly so you're not standing around waiting for hours. That being said, they do have a large sitting/entertainment area to keep you occupied while you wait. My 14-year-old always has the best time of our family, so of course he's consistently pleased. Even those of us who end up in last place (((raises hand sheepishly))) have a great time. When we left, I had to remember that I couldn't drift in my Odyssey like I did in the kart. No, seriously, I had to remind myself. Perhaps more accurately, I SHOULDN'T drift my Odyssey like I did the kart. The staff are always incredibly polite, and explain the flag signals and procedures before you start ripping around the track. They are incredibly conscientious about safety, which is huge when I'm watching my teenagers get in these things. The only MINOR negative is the cost. I wish their prices were a little lower so we could go more often. Overall, this place is fantastic! read more

Was so excited to take my son and his friends for his 13th birthday! Reserved a "party" room ahead of time along with 2 races and a round of laser tag... when we arrived we were told that they were running behind, ok that's understandable. By 7:00pm we weren't yet checked in, and the party room that was reserved over the phone wasn't available to us yet. They acted as if they had no idea what we were there for. The kicker, and major issue is when another employee that wasn't helping us came up and said "unless they were reserved for laser tag, don't do it!" Umm... we were! We did eventually get to play laser tag which was fun but the equipment was cheap. It's really really sad to me that a place that has so much potential is ran so poorly and is so unorganized. It truly has so much potential, I hope management can turn that around. I don't think I'd suggest anyone to go there. As I was not the only one I saw frustrated. When you go out to have fun and pay money to have a good time, that is what you expect and this place did not provide that. read more

This place is great. I've been to a few indoor go kart tracks in a couple of cities. I definitely like the idea of electric carts since there's no nasty exhaust fumes and crazy amounts of noise. The electric karts at Buckeye are also more technologically advanced than the typical tube frame/lawn mower engine setup at other kart tracks. The folks working can limit the power to individual karts if someone gets out of hand and, if you're racing with kids, run all the carts at reduced speed. At full speed, the karts are plenty fast while still allowing you to experiment with different corner approaches and speeds. You learn quickly that drifting around every corner is the slowest way around the track, that each corner sets up the next and that smoothness and maintaining momentum is extremely important (just like on a real racetrack) . The track, as set up the day we were there, was challenging and there were at least two corners that I frustratingly never did get exactly right. It was also interesting to feel the tires and traction get better after a few laps as they heated up and then quickly get much worse on the last few laps as they began to overheat. I saw someone else commented that the tire quality was poor, but I felt it was a little bit of added realism. If you want to turn in a fast lap, you need to do it in the middle of your session otherwise your effort will be wasted--not unlike in Formula 1 qualifying (at least as close to F1 as I'll ever get). The staff on the day we were there were super helpful and friendly and explained all the rules to the understanding of both adults and kids. They have different sizes of helmets for the big and little headed among us. I noticed that some of the helmets had GoPro adapters, which might be fun to use next time. There are snacks and drinks available and even a massage chair if the G's and steering effort is too much for you. The prices were not too bad given the amount of fun to be had. Lastly, the fact that I handily whipped my brother in law in all three of our races was a nice bonus on top of a fun day out. read more

This place is a waste of time unless you make a reservation. The Lazer tag has been removed, not able to find the footbowl to check it out. Worst of all there were no safety provided for the ax throwing. It was just 4 wooden targets, no instructor, no dividers and if the ax accidentally flys back out of your hand or gets a good enough ricochet it WILL end up on the go cart track. Staff were not enforcing safety on the race tract and were allowing kids to ride with aggressive adults. They need to make a better website and remove all the outdated information. read more

Manager here was just god awful. There was a car show at a parking spot near his building. He was driving around in his car on a power trip telling people to move their cars which weren't in his lot. So when I got there I parked in his lot and walked over to the car show to take a look. 5 steps after getting out of my car he pulled up and told me to move my car. I said dude are you kidding me. I'm about to go inside and give you money to race. Walked over to the car show. Took a look then went to the "raceway" the track was setup pretty bad. Only good thing here was the staff. Awesome people but f**k the manager. They also have cheap tires on the karts. read more

We had poor experience with most of the staff except Joshua. He was super professional. Unless management addresses the issue and gave better training, I would strongly recommend new customers against this place. We went as a group of nine. All of us are new customers and many have not done karting before. When we arrived, it was quite empty. After discussing with the staff at the counter (Joshua) in detail, we opted for single race ($25) instead of group discount because we were promised to go by groups of threes. Those of us who have not done karting can see how this works so that they would have a better experience at the race. However, as our first group was getting instruction to put on helmet and head mask to get ready for the race, there was a group of other customers who came in. Probably the shop wanted to treat those customers better and don't care about our experience. We were first told that we needed to go by two groups. After we had two more people come on to the grid, we were then again told by the staff on race track that we needed to all do the race at the same time. One of the staff even gave an ultimatum that "you guys can either do the race now, or leave and get refunded". During the safety explanation, the staff didn't ask our prior karting experience to go over basic info on when we should we helmet, gas pedal or brake position. It was obvious that we were new as we had to purchase the $6 new customer fees (they call it license). They also did not explain that the speed of the car will be much faster after every car is on the race track. They also went over the safety explanation, such as meanings of the flag, very abruptly. We still had questions but were rushed onto the race track. My other experiences with karting, staff paid much more attention to the safety. As we all got on the race track, one of our friends who was on the earlier position and didn't do karting got into an accident and hit the barrier in the first lap. She didn't realize that the speed would increase drastically after everyone entered the race track. She was 1/3 into the first lap and happened to be right before a turn when the speed was increased. She hit straight into the barrier. Staff was quite rude to her and blamed her for not braking. She had to leave the race track and was quite shocked. She ended up with whiplash. No staff checked on her or helped her with refund after the accident or race was over. Among this stressed experience, I would like to highlight Joshua as a helpful staff. He was at the counter and was much more professional in handling this situation. After our unpleasant race, he was able to gave $3 group discount to compensate and explained that the return credit would show up a few days later. Other than Joshua, the business didn't show concern for new customers even when one of us go into accident. In contrast, the second group of customers had karts blocking and hitting each other. Because of the contact between karts, there was even one kart that hit barrier and spun out of control. The staff didn't ask any of them to leave the race track. read more

Was excited to race here, and everything seemed fine up until the actual race. During the first minute of the race I spun out while trying to figure out the kart because it seemed like my wheel was stuck. As a result they slowed my kart down so I couldn't go fast anymore (understandable I guess). Then within another couple minutes while going around a turn the best I could at the reduced speed, I get slammed into at full speed by a 12 year old and immediately get pulled to the side by the staff and get lectured on "moving over for faster racers" while the person who slammed into me continued their behavior without staff intervention. It feels like the staff here give preferential treatment to regulars as opposed to new racers. While I had some fun for the remainder of my race, the experience was absolutely not worth the amount of money and treatment from the staff. If you want serious competitive racing, look somewhere else. read more

Hands down the best karting track in Columbus! I have been a handful of times, and it is a blast each time. The price is not that bad, and if you do not have a helmet they will provide one. This would be a perfect team building experience for you corporate types, and also a b-day party spot for the young ones. The racing was fun and had a great time. Staff was friendly and even gave me pointers about those specific carts and how they do on certain corners. The only thing is the seats were very uncomfortable because I was slide when going around corners so I ended up with bruises on my back because of it. If you do 3 races expect to be tired or at least your hands. They do make it to were you have a break in between races which is a good thing. And bring gloves if you can the steering wheel does leave fibers on your hands read more
