A couple of summers ago, we made it out to Lawrenceburg Speedway for its annual "Night of…read moreDestruction," what with school-bus races, a lawnmower derby, and the like. Naturally enough, this prompted a positive Yelp review. I compared Lawrenceburg Speedway to an attractive old minor-league ballpark and encouraged city highbrows to come out for a night of good cheap fun. While we were out at Lawrenceburg, our friend Larry advised us that the speedway there was "advanced" or highfalutin in comparison to Moler Raceway out in Clermont County. He was right. Lawrenceburg is slick, polished, and thoroughly mainsteam, exurban middle-class. It was pretty much inevitable that we were going to have to check out Moler. So last summer, we penetrated deep into the wilds of Clermont in the most appropriate way possible, in Larry's massive crew-cab Dodge pickup. We recently went back. If Lawrenceburg is a nice Double-A ballpark, Moler Raceway is a a straight-up knothole, gravel-strewn, all-dirt sandlot. (Or for those many Yelpers who like to call any restaurant or bar or other going concern a "dive" if it looks older than the 1990s and if less than 85 percent of the crowd falls below median U.S. income or education levels, they're going to have to come up with a whole new down-and-out term for Moler Raceway.) Moler is flat-out country. It's hidden back in a clearing in the Clermont woods, and when you finally arrive in Moler's overgrown grassy parking area, you might think you've stumbled upon an old-time backwoods tent revival meeting. Aside from the race cars and the dusty track, there are a couple of low-slung cinder-block buildings, some old wooden bleachers that have seen better days, and a shabby pressbox. (Unfortunately, there are only Port-a-Lets rather than actual bathrooms.) The seats are separated from the dirt track by a tall chain-link fence that looks patched together. In other words, it's just about perfect. A couple of weeks ago we went back for a night of racing: late models, modifieds, Chevettes, and compacts. The first two types of cars produce the most speed and power and thunder, sliding around the tight turns and kicking up big clouds of dust. (You might want to get your beer in a can rather than asking for a draft.) But it was all pretty entertaining. As I said in my Lawrenceburg review, I couldn't really care less about following motorsports or watching them on television, but as a now-and-then $13 entertainment value Moler is hard to beat.

Can't ask for a better run track! Race track run by racers. They care and it shows.read more

You had to solve riddles and make our way to the end of the story. Afterwards, we paid for the add-on experience to play the kinetic games. Unfortunately, the employee could not get it to work. The staff gave each of us a gaming card with 100 points on each so we could play the arcade games. Very awesome they substituted the game play for the kinetic games!! We had a lot of fun, would definitely recommend anyone to check it out!!

I booked 4 tickets for the Holiday Hologram on 12/23/25 at 3:00 p.m. for a family Christmas outing. We drove over an hour to get there, only to be told by a "manager" that our appointment was canceled due to overbooking. The staff then lied to our faces, claiming they were "down to only 3 headsets" and couldn't accommodate us. Meanwhile, we were literally looking past them into the VR room where a family of FIVE was currently playing with headsets on. When I pointed this out, the young girl claiming to be the manager just kept repeating "you're canceled" with no explanation. It was unprofessional, disorganized, and frankly disgusting to lie to a customer in front of their family. My grandson went from being incredibly excited to completely crushed. We are local reviewers and will be sharing this experience with our community. Absolute mess of a business.

Let's talk dirty!…read more Because that's what you're gonna get at Lawrenceburg Speedway! This local staple of Lawrenceburg has decades of history. Generations of local dirt track racers giving all they got to a sport they love. Lawrenceburg Speedway is right off the highway and insanely easy to get to. It's so easy that you may miss the road to turn on to to enter the park. Well, I did. Once you get there, you find a place to park. Usually in the grass or the lot closer to the road, if it's a busy night. Check the website for schedules, tickets and pricing and also results. Lawrenceburg will give you a great night and not break the bank. I'm not a "local" to Lawrenceburg as I live North of Cincy about 35 minutes away. As an "outsider", I can immediately see the community here. These are families and friends who come together for some racing and fun and have a great time. You can tell that some of these folks are here week-after-week and this is what they do. It's fantastic. So, you get through the ticket window, walk past the security officer and you're in the park. Hit the refreshment stands early. They don't get crazy busy, but it gets a little dusty once the action starts. You hit the grandstands and it's a seat-yourself deal. No assigned seats. Find a place and park it. Let the action begin. Everything from little four-bangers to buses at this track. And, again, it's always a good time. When you're there, in the stands, it could be 2024 or it could be 1964. It really could. This is just good old fashioned fun. That's it. Guys and gals working hard all week, coming home and eating dinner before they go out to the garage to pound out their ride for Saturday's race. They work hard and they play hard. It's Saturday and it's showtime. They give it all they got and it's an overall great time. Would I go back? Heck yeah! I can't wait for the 2024 season to fire up. Let's go racing!!!! Pro Tip(s): Okay - If you've never been to a dirt track before, you should know a couple of things. If you don't wear glasses, you may want to bring some. You may even want to bring safety glasses. It can get very dusty and, depending on where you're sitting, mud pellets can travel. I choose to throw on my prescription shop safety glasses. Bring a mask or a bandana. The bandana looks cooler. "For COVID?" No! For dust and mud, just like the glasses. Depending on the day, that dust bowl can be dense. I prefer to breathe so I always have a bandana in my pocket, just in case. Don't get all dolled up. Why? Same reason as the glasses and bandana........it get's dirty out here, y'all!! That's dirt track racing. Last Pro Tip - Go to the Concession Stand BETWEEN races/heats. You do not want to be standing there during a race or qualifying. You WILL be showered with mud pellets. This is not a maybe.........this is a guarantee. If you don't believe me, look down when you're walking by the Concession Stand. You see all those mud marbles? Yeah, they didn't just gently roll over there. The rained down in brown waves of glory.

When we get there after driving over 40 miles one way, we find out it's closed due to 'unseasonably cool weather'. Literally insult to injury when gas is $4.99 a gallon, and we foolishly passed on other opportunities for a good night out before I have to head back to South Dakota. Can't believe the FOOLS that run & own this DUMP don't/can't realize that race cars eat their best/lay down great E.T.s in temperatures in the upper 40's. The only bright side is it gives me new respect for my local track in Sturgis, even if it's only an eighth-mile. The only thing that could/would stop scheduled racing there would be major rain storms all day/night. Truly feel sorry for the guys/gals in the Tri-state area who have built bad-ass units, but Edgewater is the only place to take them without trailering hours away.

Honestly, it was so bad that I would seriously consider purchasing a Half Mask Respirator prior to visit this facility again. Also, bring a hat, sunglasses, trash bag, earplugs, and earmuffs. My wife wears earplugs that are a 36 decibels reduction and a set of shooting earmuffs. I would not just go with ear plugs, especially if you are going to be seating of trackside. Do your ears a favor and get a set of earmuffs and wear earplugs. By the way, the trash bag is to place any item that you're not wearing because people tend to knock over their beer when the stand up to cheer their favorite driver(s).
