Fun place! The outside of the building is bright and colorful with a big parking lot as well. They have a ton of pinball machines in all sorts of themes, from Pulp Fiction to Jaws to The Beatles. And at 50 cents a play, you can't beat that! We played a few games and had a blast. They also have a selection of DVDs and games for various consoles to shop through, as well as some pop culture toys. It's a great store that I wish was closer to my home so I could frequent it more often. The staff are kind and helpful and it's obvious that they have a lot of regulars which means they should be around for a long, long time. We'll be back next time we're in Cincy! read more

Took my kiddo here today and wow what a great gaming place for young and old! You can go for one hour unlimited play for $5 each or $10 for all day play. There is a separate section for pin ball machines that are .50 cent a game. The front part of the building is loaded with games and geek gear. There is an old style quarter machine so make sure to bring cash just in case. Tons of parking out front. Inside the place is bigger than it looks. I have been coming to this bar/arcade for 10 years. Since I was in high school and I would go to the Old Mills Mall being so excited to only pay a cover charge for playing hundreds of games. On the surface this place feels flawless. But for ten years, a monthly attender, and you don't know my name, I know your name tho. You are the definition of rude. Idk if it's just to females, or if you're just like that, but it's incredibly unprofessional. You aren't even friendly, geez your whole staff is unfriendly to me, when I've been nothing but nice. Sometimes I feel like I'm the costumer service in the interactions between actual staff, Workers not just ignoring me, but being rude too? Then you alienate a whole group of people because they don't serve your needs anymore after years of making you money. There's nothing there but a selfish bar owner that cares more about dollar signs than the amazing people that fill his bar he shouldn't have bought if he didn't want a bar. Beware of the rose colored glasses you receive when you walk in AL. I will not be coming back. read more

This place is kind of an oddity to be honest, but worth checking out and very affordable. The mall that this is located in is pretty much a candidate for deadmalls.com with pretty much 99.4% of the shops gone. The staff here is super friendly and most of the games are in good working order. They have a great selection of retro games even with more current arcade games available. While the old school DDR machine there seems to be missing the music files and will not work there is something like it closer to the front. Seeing some of the old games of our childhood was nice and the selection of vintage games, accessories, and systems is nothing to scoff at either. While I think this place is pretty cool and a relatively cheap thing to do since you pay for some time and everything is on free play. It was so damn hot in there since the mall is no longer heating or cooling place. That is the reason for the four star rating. *Shrugs* that is my only fault, but the cold drinks did help. read more

Located at the Cincinnati Mall (Cincinnati Mills Dr). It's the only store opened in the ghost Mall so you can't miss it. This is my first visit to this location and it was okay. I've been to the Arcade Legacy in Newport and was pretty impressed with the set up and selections of gaming. I love pin ball so I was definitely looking forward to playing the different varieties. Some were not lit (Hulk and Charlie'Angels-it wasn't working) or broken. My favorites were Ice Fever and Tri Zone. I also found my favorite game Battle Toads that I played back in the day. Besides that, other gaming anything from Atari 2600, NES or Sega Genesis, PS4, and WiiU. They do have Mortal Kombat, X-Men, WWF, and more! Daily rates start at $10.00 ($6.00 ages 4-11 & Kids under 4 is for free with adult paid admission). Hourly Rates- $5.00 for one hour and two hours $8.00. Arcade Legacy also buys, sells or trades used video games, DVD/Bluray, board games, manga, action figures and other collectibles. They also host events and parties. My fiance and I took my little sister here after an impromptu visit to the Cincy zoo. Fair warning that if you come at night you will feel like you stepped into a zombie apocalypse movie between the creepy flickering parking garage lights and the slightly dilapidated exterior of the building. I deeply enjoyed the opportunity to cheerily snapchat my mom clips of her beloved daughters wandering towards our doom. The arcade was incredible and is one of the biggest I have personally been in. i love all the weird imported games, its fun to try to figure it out on your own. There is a DDR unit set up right in the front window so everyone can watch you embarrass yourself! We love it so much we decided to host our wedding reception here and so far the manager has been very accommodating, friendly, and easy to work with. I recommend stopping in here to peruse the selection, if you can survive the journey through the haunting abandoned mall without chickening out. read more

I love this place and been a customer for years now. All kinds of movies, retro games, systems and such. More than a collector could ask for! Most of the staff are helpful and very friendly, especially when you don't know certain things. However Im giving this place 3 stars because of one particular employee. I do not know his name, all I can say is he's the longer haired gentleman usually manning the front desk. His overall personality is like a block of wood and his attitude (or lack thereof) seems like he doesn't even care or like to work at the place at all. He doesn't seem to have any knowledge on games and when you ask questions its usually answered with a bland "um idk." Followed by silence. Unlike the other employees I usually encounter here. His overall attitude (again, or lack thereof) keeps me from wanting to even go here and I see it happen to other customers too while I'm there. Im not saying fire this employee, but I feel his personality needs a reboot and/or needs to be looked at by any higher-ups. I will continue to be a huge fan and customer of this store/arcade. There's a great collection of board games, consoles, games, accessories, and DVDs available for purchase, but the main attraction is obviously the arcade. They have a really good selection of games - we could easily have stayed all day if we hadn't had errands to run. They also have a bay of PCs for gaming, a Wii, and probably other consoles, too. And every Wednesday night (unless they close early for a holiday) is Board Game Night! This is the kind of place I can definitely imagine being a regular! This place is AMAZING!!! I can't wait to go back! THIS IS ONE OF CINCINNATI'S HIDDEN GEMS!!! This is an arcade that has many of the classic arcade games. You pay $5 an hour to play or $10 for the whole night. This saves you from carrying around pockets full of quarters. I went with some friends and we had a blast. It was not very crowded even though it was on a Friday night. I could see how it could be less fun when its crowded and you can't get on your favorite game. The arcade is on the first floor of a mostly abandoned mall which is really weird but at least it means there is plenty of parking and you aren't fighting huge crowds! read more

I really enjoy gaming at Arcade Legacy because they cater to the past and the present in gaming. They have been the only place in the city that I can find Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games, as well as Game Cube games to test and to purchase for great prices. I don't prefer buying games unless I can play them first, and I really enjoy getting into the classics. This place is also a great way to game and save money! They have by the hour pricing or all day! And you can get discounts for groups, which is really cool, because then you can game with all your friends too! There are lots of free play arcade games, pinball games, and console games. There are two huge screens as well which you can play and watch other people play cool games too. I've played Band Hero a couple times on the big screen, and just the other day they had the newest Smash Bros. which can host up to 8 players, and it was a blast! We entered the Cincinnati Mall in the evening and witnessed the death of American capitalism. Row after row of empty storefronts are lined up in shadowy hallways where you can hear the echo of your own voice. It is is the apocalypse of American retail. We just kept on walking through shadows and darkness, driven by nostalgia and a yearning to relive the wonderful experiences of playing at video games arcades in my youth. But wait, is that a light I see near the food court on the ground floor? All the restaurants are closed but I hear voices and electronic noises. Like a shrine of light, Arcade Legacy appears out of the darkness and at last we found our video game sanctuary. Needless to say, for $5 an hour per person (or $10 for the whole day), our family indulged ourselves with abandon on many of the arcade classics. Aaaah, getting my video game fix rarely feels this good anymore these ideas. We had a blast with the family and I was able to show some of our teenage children that the old geezer still has some video game skills left in him. We tried to get into a similar place in the past but a lot of them are part of bars. For some reason they won't let teenagers in places where they serve alcohol.... imagine that. I would understand that if they were unaccompanied but we are their parents for goodness sake and it was only 5 pm. I guess I shouldn't expose my teenagers to the terrifying sight of people drinking alcohol. Anyway, Arcade Legacy is worth a visit with the family! (and they don't serve alcohol) read more

Best retro arcade in the Cincinnati area! Most of the video games work well. I went for the pinball and most of the machines also worked well. You can also buy used games dating all the way back to the ColecoVision era. There's a bunch of other random stuff to buy as well including, Japanese anime, movies, and figurines. The cover is $5 for an hour and $10 for the day, but all games are free after that (excluding the newest pinball game released, AMC Walking Dead). I definitely recommend checking out and spending a few hours in yester-year. Quick tip: the arcade is next to the food court near the Khol's side of the mall. read more

Nostalgia overload at $5 an hour. I was staying at the Hampton Inn next-door and walked over to the mall since I've been cooped in the office all day. I was really just trying to get some steps and was amazed of the small was a ghost town. This mall is a heartbeat away from flatlining. The escalators don't run because there's nothing on the second floor. I'm surprise some kids haven't started acting like it's an episode of Tony hawk in there. To the arcade. I asked for change for my $20 expecting to play about five dollars. I was amazed when I was told five dollars gets you an hour of unlimited free play. Every arcade machine, pinball machine, and game system is included. You can jump from game to game no problem. If you get killed in Mortal Kombat and decide you want to go play Street fighter just jump over. I want over to the counter asked for a NES controller and a copy of kung fu and skate or die; it was no problem. I had to blow in the game but it started right up. Blowing in the game add to the experience. I played a least 8 games of pinball. That alone will cost me 10 bucks anywhere else. I wish they had one of these in my hometown. They had everything. This is basically a video game arcade in a totally abandoned shopping mall (except for Kohls, Bass Pro Shops, a gym, and a party space with bouncy castles) and you have to walk half of the dead, dark, abandoned mall to get to the arcade. The mall is barely lit and a security guard is present (don't piss them off because they will throw you out). However, Arcade Legacy is a really fun place to go! The arcade does charge admission but all the games are set up to be free play. They also have a really nice selection of used video games. See something you like? See something you're curious about? Just flag down one of the guys at the desk and they will gladly grab the disc or cartridge and you can sit at any of the dozen or so TV's set up and connected to various consoles ranging from NES to PS4 to Xbox and try before you buy. Sadly, I don't see much hope for Cincinnati Mall and Arcade Legacy has a really depressing location, but I would definitely come back here. If they shut down Cincinnati Mall, I hope Arcade Legacy is able to find a new home. Awesome place!!! read more

Erin asked me to watch her boys one afternoon, sounded like the perfect excuse to try this place out. Its now located in the Cincinnati Mall off of 275 just across from the food court. Which is good news because... they have all you can play passes!!! We walked into a place that was just amazing, old video game consoles from NES to PS3, even gameboy! A wide variety of console games located on the left that you can use in the store. And of course, a huge selection of arcade games and pinball. They had guitar hero on a huge jumbo screen in the back and Dance Dance up front by the window. That made me glad that it was in a near empty mall, no one wants to see me on display pretending i know how to dance! I love places like this because i get to finally complete a game. When i was a kid i never seemed to have enough quarters to finish, and never enough to practice, LOL. So i took the boys on over and we picked out a 4 play game, Sunset riders. After that the caffeine took over and I was in the zone. Being a kid friendly environment i let the boys roam around the store while i tried to get the high score on Donkey Kong. After about an hour or so we got starved, luckily there was a gold star open in the food court so we could rush eat and get back to gaming. After about 3 hours we were all pooped. But for just $22 for all 3 of us to play for that long, what a bargain. If your going to this place, park by the theater parking area, its the easiest to get to it. Its a time warp back to the good days of pinballs and pacman, but you can also play newer system games they have set up (but who would want to do that with the vintage awesomeness at your fingertips?!). Arcade Legacy is 13 year old me's dream come true. Pay a one time fee and then all machines are free! Sounds great! In reality it's actually kinda disappointing. Sure, Smash T.V. Is tons of fun, but unlimited lives robs the experience of any true excitement. Besides the missing urgency while playing the only drawback is that Arcade Legacy is located in a wasteland, the Cincinnati mall. Make sure to go on a full stomach unless you want some questionable food court Chinese food or a coney from Gold Star. The arcade does offer a few snacks, some candy and soda. Back to the Arcade! They have fighting games, brawlers, sports, old skool cabinets, x box's, ps3's and even a couple pinball cabinets. By far my favorite are the old skool games. Even though you get unlimited credits, progress is lost when you run out of lives. This keeps these games the most engaging. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean enough. I recommend Arcade Legacy for an afternoon of fun. Just be ready to have that 13 year old dream die a little. read more

I love that there are still arcades. Arcade Legacy is a great place to take a date or have a birthday party (like I did). You pay a flat fee and are set loose. They have tons of current and old school games and paraphernalia to buy too. They guys who work there are pretty cool, laid back dudes who are on top of it. I had my birthday party here last year. I notified the owner that I was bringing a large group of people in advance by email and he gave my party a discount. What a cool dude! The only thing that is a bit weird about Arcade Legacy is their new location. They are in the mostly empty Cincinnati Mall. Seriously, its like a zombie movie in there. I'm guessing they could rent a large space for cheeeeeap. And that they keep it pretty dim inside. I'm not afraid of getting kidnapped but its like dusk in there. One of my fellow nerd friends brought Arcade Legacy to our attention a few weeks ago, as a potential weekend outing. My nerdity's always extended to video games, so the prospect of playing some Gauntlet or even pinball was really appealing. Arcade Legacy's website is fairly voluminous, but it belies one of the biggest issues that I have with the place: it's in the all-but-derelict Cincinnati Mall, which has only a handful of stores remaining and looks like the abandoned ruins of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Seriously. There are few places creepier than an abandoned mall. That said, the space inhabited by Arcade Legacy was filled with arcade cabinets and, after a brief browse through their "for sale" items and a quick payment of the fairly-reasonable cover charge ($10 for a full day), we were eager to mash some buttons. The games at Arcade Legacy run the gamut from old Atari titles up through the early 2000s, with titles like NFL Blitz and NBA Jam. While most of them were in fairly good condition, we did note that several of the cabinets simply did not work (Captain America and the Avengers) or had graphical/hardware issues (the screen on the X-Men cabinet was half-washed out, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game controls were wonky). Several of the pinball machines, as well, were in need of maintenance, with plungers needing replacement springs or occasional hangs. However, the majority of the games we played were fine, and we ended up staying for nearly 6 hours of play time. I can't say that I had a bad time at Arcade Legacy, but I definitely think that the concept's been done better at 16-Bit in Columbus. I'm eager to see what Brewcadia has in store, as well. While I wouldn't mind going back, there seem to be better options, especially in the Columbus area. read more

Many games were either not working or had major faults (nonworking buttons, loose joysticks etc. ), this place seems to be going the nintendo/console challenge route and just leaving sub-par machines on the floor to fill in space. No longer a true retro-arcade experience. See below for previous review of just 2 years ago. Fantastic old school arcade experience mixed with some of the latest console games. The day pass is a steal, one small fee for all day free play! Owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. If you're a pinball aficionado make sure to check out their virtual pinball machine...it is a thing of beauty. The only drawback is the Cincinnati mills mall itself...a dismal shell of a place that attracts some unsavory types later in the evenings. Although I do recommend loading up the Dawn of the Dead soundtrack on your MP3 player and taking a walk around the entire joint. Good exercise. read more

I am so happy that we discovered this place. Growing up, I would save up a weeks worth of lunch money just to play for an hour or two at the local arcade. Hardly seemed worth the growling stomach after coming to Arcade Legacy. The 10$ flat fee is so amazing that I drive here from Columbus whenever I feel the need to get my game on. There just isn't anything like this around here in Columbus! There's a bunch of free classic arcade games along side DDR, ping pong, foosball, and a bunch of TVs with a variety of consoles and games. What a fantastic, silly place. I brought a date here after dinner. It was fun and silly. They have all sorts of video games, including rock band on a giant projector screen. It's got the classics like Rampage, Centipede, and Hydro Thunder. It's got non-video games like foosball and ping pong. You'd be hard-pressed to come here with a good attitude and have a bad time.
