Everyone I've spoken to has been so helpful. The receptionists spent time going over the package options with me for my short stay here, the instructor I met, Riri, was great and had a really good, challenging class! The location has ample parking, the studios are beautiful - I was so shocked to see two stories and multiple rooms hosting classes simultaneously. It's really great here and I'm looking forward to taking more classes!

Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays for bachata, salsa, and Cha Cha Cha. Socials are held every 4th Saturday of the month and are always a lot of fun. Besides their regular classes, they'll usually host a few different workshops on the weekends throughout the month ranging from tango to ladies styling to West coast swing and everything in between. The floor is well kept and is very nice for dancing. There is also plenty of parking for the classes and socials. The regulars keep coming back and newcomers of all skill levels are always welcome.

Eduardo is a fun instructor who is patient and encouraging with beginning dancers. He also provides excellent instruction for intermediate and advanced students, helping them continue to improve. His classes are enjoyable and his teaching methods are creative. The studio environment is friendly, and the dancers are welcoming. They have both daytime and evening classes, which is something I appreciate and most other studios do not offer. Dance socials are held multiple times each month, which gives students opportunities to socialize and practice. Dancers from this studio, and others around Houston, meet here on the fourth Saturday of the month for dancing and a little libations (BYOB). There are bachata socials on some Saturdays and Sundays. The socials are a great value, only $10 for entry, and typically about $10 additional if you want to attend the workshop offered just prior to the event. Another thing to look for are their daytime weekend workshops. Some of the past workshops have included instruction in musicality, belly dance, ladies' Latin styling, Afro-Cuban dance, salsa on 2, and west coast swing. Dance Heights has a lot to offer students at every level. If you are interested in learning to dance or would like to improve your dance technique, this is a great place to do it!

Our guests loved it/ were blown away by our dance, and we loved performing it and learning it. Wedding prep can get stressful, and learning the dance and going to class was a stress reliever and a ton of fun. I have never done ballroom dancing before (my now wife had a long time ago ), but Anjulena was a fantastic teacher and could teach us and get us performance ready for the wedding! She choreographed the dance for us based on what we wanted, and it felt awesome to have someone who could make this dance into something we wanted. We told her what we wanted as the dance developed, and she could add in moves and make modifications to meet our needs. She is also super kind and even came to our wedding rehearsal to help us practice our dance and to make sure we were oriented correctly and comfortable to do our dance at the venue (for both plan A and the rain plan). Overall, I highly recommend working with Anjulena. If you have a first dance for a wedding, she's your person. She helped us create a memorable moment we will cherish forever (I have watched a recording of our dance a friend got for us so many times already!) and a dance that wowed our guests (everyone said it was the best first dance they have seen!). We look forward to learning other dances with her in the future. Thank you Anjulena, you are fantastic!

Thanks to yelper Melissa for your review of Rebecca! We decided to reach out to Rebecca based off…read moregreat reviews and found the perfect package to fit our needs and within our budget. Rebecca was very quick at responding to our emails and is really informative in each email she sends you. There is a 5 class wedding package that worked perfectly for us. A few months before the wedding, we weren't sure if we wanted to spend extra money on taking dance lessons for the wedding, but as the date was getting closer, we were feeling the pressure of putting together something, so we decided to check out yelp and came across The Dance Whisperer. We felt the price was reasonable, and I had confidence based on reviews that Rebecca would be able to help us from looking ridiculous during our first dance and sure enough she made us look amazing! Everyone raved about how great we were and even my mom said our first dance was so amazing and my mom RARELY compliments anyone or anything. We scheduled our five sessions after our first class to make sure we could get in the books before the wedding and that was not a problem since Rebecca had perfect times for us in the evenings after work. Rebecca is so personable and even though we have only met her 5 times, we felt very comfortable with her in each class which was kind of frightening in the beginning because we were both inexperienced with dancing, but she started off with basic steps to boost our confidence and gave us a little preview of what to expect for the next class as a bit of homework to practice at home. Thank you Rebecca for your help!!

It really didn't take too long before we could get some basic steps down and tried incorporating some interesting turns into our routine, and she was very patient in making sure both of us had a firm grasp before moving onto the next level. Our wedding dance had some interesting turns, spins, and steps with a big finish incorporated into it. The stress and anxiety of it all leading up to "The Big Day" didn't help, and at one point my hubby took a wrong step, but was able to correct it flawlessly without anyone noticing--all thanks to her! Each appointment is 45 minutes. EXACTLY 45 minutes. If she says be there at 5:30pm, you better not knock on that door at 5:29pm (and steal a minute from the previous couple) or at 5:31pm because you already cut into your time slot. Of course, you can double book. That said, she is very professional and methodical in her guidance, and seems to live and breath the art of dance!
