We were going to hit the Soup Shack but couldn't locate it so we saw this place and decided to give it a try instead and we were glad we did. Very cool vibe and the menu has a good selection without being too overwhelming. I had the fish tacos and my hubby had the BeltBuster pork sandwich. Both of us enjoyed our meal but neither of us were blow away by the food. I will say that we ordered and received our meal within 15 minutes which was great. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. They specialize in crepes so if that's your thing then I definitely recommend giving them a try. I with held one star because the food while okay didn't wow us. We have out of state tags and even though we paid our parking meter the city decided that they would ticket us for our bumper not lining up with the meter. They only give you 7 days to pay the $10 fine before charging more money so basically they are using every single thing at their disposal to make a buck for the city. It was only a slight inconvenience for me but I feel sorry for folks who are on a tight budget. At any rate I recommend you carefully check your meter as well as park with your bumper parallel with the meter to avoid any charges. There are NO lines to determine parking spots but be warned they have a policy that is strictly enforced. cannot believe I've not reviewed this place already! The food is always amazing and always fresh. If there is a complaint, which is unusual, it's remedied. If you've had a bad day it stops when they chat with you as they've known you forever. This is truly a unique dining experience as it is small town comfort with big time standards. Active in the community supporting local artists and educators, Later Gator cares about their customers. They're also environmentally conscious so remember to turn off the light in the restroom when you're finished and if you need a straw for your drink you'll have to ask! A few of my favorites: Bluesfest pulled pork kettle chips, literally any of their salads or soups (especially the clam chowder), the Pub Ugly sandwich, anything involving their pesto, half price bottle of wine Mondays (who doesn't love that!?), the lemon crepe (the name escapes me at the moment) and the Smores crepe! That restaurant had me at the sign on the door. This was a fabulous eatery! From the eclectic decor to the creative menu, it was a perfect meal. Extra touches like the puff pastry alligator accompanying the lobster bisque soup to the flavored waters with Italian cream put it over the top. Probably one of the top places I have eaten in years! I went for early dinner around two pm for a graduation party and a young bartender kept making old fashions instead of a proper whisky sour this happened three times. We probably would have enjoyed something more than chips on the side. Everything seems homemade and those chips were like an afterthought. Pasta salad? French fries? Sweet potato fries? Salad? Something??? I have seen the pics from other reviews on here and the chips we got were not the chips I'm seeing. We definitely did not get homemade chips. Not the end of the world at all. Fantastic food, decor and reasonably priced! My wife and kids got crepes and oohed and awed the whole time. My one daughter licked the plate but don't hold that against her. I met a friend from out of town for lunch here last Saturday. He arrived a little early and got us a table out on the back patio. When I arrived and let them know I was meeting someone they took me right to our table. Every member of the staff was SO friendly and welcoming. Our server had several tables to attend to and was pretty busy, but managed her time and attention very well. She was wonderful! Our food was absolutely delicious! I have only been here a few times in as many years, but have had great experiences every time. The food is fantastic, the staff is amazing, the service and atmosphere is top knotch. Every. Time! Today my boyfriend and I came here for the first time. We drove from Weirton, WV, which is 45 minutes drive because I was craving for crepes. We sat for over 15 minutes, no waitress or no one ask if we want any drinks. We were sitted before the people behind us and the table across us. A friend and I went to lunch, food was okay. The incident that will never be forgotten and the reason that I am not giving them my business is making a mother, gandmother, and two children leave for making a little noise. We were beside them and noise was not loud. The manager or owner came to their table and told them that they were too loud asked them to leave, just as their food came. The staff was friendly and the ambiance was cute, so I'm giving two stars - but hunny this food is not what the Yelpers are hyping it up to be. I am visiting from Washington, D.C. for a week and decided to stop by this place based on the Yelp reviews. I ordered the BVD wrap and the walnut salad with salmon. They gave me a very slender, dry and over cooked piece of salmon on a bed of brown romaine. The "sun dried" tomatoes tasted like canned tomato paste and there was nothing candied about the walnuts. The dressing looked and tasted like it had been sitting for who knows how long. The wrap wasn't too bad compared to the salad (which I tossed, lol) but it was definitely mushy. I could tell that the veggies were not fresh and simply over cooked. Lastly, I'm not understanding how my tab was $40? Maybe if the food tasted better, I wouldn't have given it much thought. Anyway, I wouldn't waste my money at this place at least not for my order. There are better options nearby where you can get more bang for your buck. Pros: GREAT food, I've been here several times, gotten something different each time and have yet to be disappointed. Sunday brunch is fantastic. The interior is eclectic and fun. Cons: VERY spotty service. Every time I've gone, I've had a different server and yet they all have managed to forget something for either me or my dining companion. I've had them forget to bring the coffee I ordered, forget refills, to bring our checks, or straight up forget to come back to take our orders. This weren't cases of a busy restaurant that was understaffed- we've always gone before or after prime hours and there are plenty of servers.
