The space is welcoming and cozy, though I hear they may be going under some renovations in the near future which I'm sure will only add to how wonderful this spot already is. The drinks are reasonably priced and it's near several yummy restaurants. The sound was fantastic -- I was actually impressed with how much oomph came out of the back room where they hold shows. Looking back over other reviews for this spot, well, they have ANOTHER new owner as of this week, so I have to imagine it only gets better from here. I can't wait to see what it's like moving forward!

And while Adams is surprisingly nice on the inside, Jackson's Tavern is true dive through-and-through. It's smokey, and seems a little rough and intimidating at first, but we ended up finding the people to be pretty friendly. There's a pool table and a Silver Strike machine, as well as a vending machine that dispenses lottery tickets. B bought a few and won $5, then bought 5 more tickets and won $25. The restrooms are too tiny for sinks, so a communal sink sits behind a partition outside the bathroom doors. Amusingly, when we walked in, the bartender thought B asked for a couple of "straws" when he in fact asked for a couple of "draughts". So there was some momentary confusion when she handed us two drinking straws. :)

On the regular pork tenderloin, the lettuce/tom/pickles/onions are extra, as is the Mayo. But it ends up being the same price as the other tenderloin options that have condiments included, so I don't see the additional charges as a big deal. Look at it this way, if you don't want all the toppings, you don't have to pay for it! But, wow, there was a LOT of fat on my regular fried pork tenderloin. So much so that, so sorry, I couldn't eat bites I had taken. I'm so sorry for the gross pic but it was a lot. It wasn't just one or two bites. It was still good and I still enjoyed it. I was very full at the end of my meal. The meat was thick and seasoned well. And the breading was nice and crunchy. My problem with the location was the gaggle of children running the pool tables. Or rather running around and playing around the pool tables. When I first got there, they were not playing around the pool tables. And then towards the end of my meal, they started a "game" of pool. I was so nervous that I was going to get hit with a pool stick that I moved to the other side of my table. Just in time, too. Apparently this place is like a Chuck E Cheese on Saturday afternoons so the parents can drink and the kids can run rampant. I really wasn't expecting that at all. I'll come back when the kids are in school.
