I have worn glasses and contacts for the past 20 years and always knew I would eventually get Lasik- just was never really sure when. I did an Yelp search for the procedure and LasikPlus was my first result. (and so glad it was!!) The consultation process was SO simple. I was able to sign up online for a next day consultation apt. At my apt, Kate conducted my eye exam. She was incredibly sweet and took the time to talk through each portion of the exam and provide insight on what was to come. She was great and just the first impression that I needed to feel comfortable and confident in the staff at LasikPlus. Once my initial eye exam was complete, Kate took my into a lobby where I watched a 10ish minute video about the procedure. I am VERY squeamish, so was nervous that it would be graphic and I would end up changing my mind- but it was actually very informative and worth the watch. After the video Dr. Karen Kehbein did a couple of additional test/exams and talked through any questions that I had regarding the procedure. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was the final confirmation that I needed to go through with it. I then was taken to scheduling- (she was amazing, but don't remember her name!). I was able to book for the SAME DAY. We spoke through payment options, as well as somethings I needed to do prior to the procedure. Great, no pressure conversation. Fast forward to later that afternoon... the whole process FLEW by. Tigi (hopefully spelled correctly) was awesome. She answered a couple of last minute questions about after the procedure care, processed my HSA payment and set my follow up apt for the next morning. Might I add, there were people in and out in no time! For some reason it made me feel at ease to see the 3 people I was sitting in the lobby with walk out fine. As quickly as I sat back down, Dr. Kehbein was there taking me and my boyfriend/taxi driver for the afternoon to a small exam room. Dr. Smith (who performed my procedure) quickly walked in and explained in detail what to expect... the nerves did catch up with me, so it was all a blur, but 100% trusted he had it down. I walked into a large room with glass windows for others to watch if they chose to. All in all the procedure took 7 minutes. I was able to sit up and immediately read their sign on the wall that just a few minutes earlier had been a blur. They advise you to sleep for 4-6 hours, but I ended up taking advantage and slept through the entire night. There was some slight discomfort about 2 hours after the procedure and some tearing, but I was able to sleep through it. My next morning check in I was able to drive myself to (in some really cool glasses.) At that apt, my vision was 20/10.. BETTER THAN 20/20. 3 days later, their is some redness- but nothing too crazy looking. Only negative is going eye makeup free for 7 days... small sacrifice for such an amazing result. While I wasn't the patient, my girlfriend was. The staff from the moment of walking in the door was very accommodating and reassuring the entire visit. Not just before the surgery but even the day of the follow up as well. The doctor that performed the surgery did an excellent job in explaining everything to her as well as me and even allowed the opportunity to watch the surgery from the TV screen. Everyone had smiles on their faces and were more than welcoming on both visits. As my girlfriend said, this is the best money that she has spent on herself. read more

I got my surgery literally yesterday and can see so much more clearly now! I've worn glasses since I was four, and until recently, was blind as a bat without them. Anything further away than about 1 ft in front of my face was just a blur. Even with glasses, vision that bad is just a millstone around your neck. Can't see when you swim, vision is heavily distorted at the edges, your kids smack your glasses off your face, they slip when you sweat any amount at all and you get headaches around your ears in a constant battle to keep them the perfect distance from your eyes. And, come the zombie apocalypse or if you're the last man alive in the world with finally all the time to read in front of your favorite library? You're screwed. In short, being super near sighted really, really sucks. I'd been hoping to get LASIK now for the better part of a decade, and finally was able to save enough up to pay for it. Beforehand, I wondered about it. Not exactly a small amount of money, and what if there were complications? A month afterwards? OMG IT IS SO AMAZING!!! Completely worth it and then some. I had no idea how good the world looked with 20/20 vision and honestly, every day it's exciting to notice all the visual details around me that I never picked up on before. I can see my alarm clock at night. Driving is easier. Using a computer is easier. Everything is so much clearer, you really don't realize what you're missing till you can see it The procedure itself was incredibly fast, under three minutes in total. It wasn't exactly fun, but it was manageable. I couldn't sleep afterward like they reccommended, and after the numbing drops wore off, man did it hurt for about five hours, even with tylenol. Maybe a 7 out of 10 for me. A day later, it had gone down to about a 2 out of 10 on the 'how much does this hurt?' scale. Two days later and I barely noticed anything. Things were sharp but a bit foggy the first few days, but everything cleared up in a few days. Is it worth it? A thousand times yes! read more

I had lasik done yesterday and the entire process was maybe under ten minutes! Make sure to eat beforehand because you will want to sleep as soon as possible! HORRIBLE!!!!! Buyer beware, scam! $250 per/ eye is true, but only if you want PERMANENT DAMAGE to your eyes. I agreed to the $250 per eye, & now my right eye can now not only see at distance, but cant see up close now either. My left eye also needs glasses. Went to an eye Dr. & was in formed it looked like someone cut my eyes w/ a dull blade. Leaving me w/ 2 different prescriptions, & worse vision than when I went in. Oh, & they will try to sell you drops for your eyes,,,, $60 worth, which can be purchased in any store for $5-$10 of more than what you will need. You are no more than a number, the $250 per/ eye is a sells tactic to get you in & be told its better to buy the $1600 - $2500 PER/ Eye packages. They should be liable to damages, but you have to sign a BOOK of disclaimers so you cant SUE them if they BLIND you. read more

Just had my lasik surgery done yesterday and I am ecstatic. Came in today and had my vision tested and I'm at 20/15. I was talking to the doctor and said the only complaint is a bit of an itch in my right eye like a hair. She looked and sure enough a hair was there. Other than the hair no discomfort at all. The procedure only takes about 15 min start to finish. The only discomfort during surgery was the pressure from the tool that keeps your eye open. The other thing no one told me was the laser that corrects the back of your eye does burn that area so there is a slight odor like burning hair but it only lasted a couple seconds. The staff was great and it was HALF the price of a couple of the other well advertised clinics. Being able to see when you first wake up is amazing. I would totally do it again. read more

I had a terrible experience at this place. I would never recommend them and give them 0 out of 5 stars if possible. The doctor who did my consult gave me misleading/incorrect information. I opted for distance vision instead of mono vision because of the things he told me. Now I've paid over $3k for lasik and still have to wear contacts/glasses. They lead you to think you can have a lasik touch up, but don't tell you most likely will have to be done by PRK which is a lot more intense than lasik. Friendly enough staff from the get, however, very much in a rush to get folks in and out ya don't really have time to think it through. They schedule you for surgery and say you have a week prior to cancel. I called recently to cancel and when I said I didn't feel peace about it yet as I saw some YouTube videos and stuff about the links between suicide and lasik the person said wow. Totally unprofessional. Even if they don't agree with why I'm cancelling I just know that saying wow isn't cool. Horrible experience. Walked out. From the moment I entered into the examination until the time I had enough and walked out I was constantly bombarded with price (4300), financing options and hard sale tactics to try to get me to agree on a price or financing options. Once I made it clear that I wasn't going to discuss that but rather would prefer to concentrate on my health and my care I was directed to a waiting area where I was presented with a video showcasing doctors placing their hands over their hearts promising to adhere to their core values. I put the tablet down and walked out I was so disgusted. The video was the very contradiction of what I had just experienced. The "attentive" staff didn't even notice me leaving though I had a noisy three year old in tow and had to pass right in front of the check in/out desk to leave. Didn't bother to call and see where I was or why I left until about 45 minutes after I left. Which told me already what they're interested in. Not my care or my health...but money. Once they did call, I explained the situation and my reasoning but only received backhanded apologies and a promise to get some resolution and a call from senior staff to discuss my experience. That has yet to happen. Please save your time and your money or your insurance's money and consider another provider for this procedure. read more

I sought care here at the recommendation of a family member, whose LASIK procedure was done by Dr. Smith last year. Dr. Smith as well as his colleague Dr. Nourani were exceedingly kind, personable, and patient as I asked my many questions about the process and procedure - 5 stars for them. My procedure was about a week ago and my vision is great! The side effects I have noticed are dryness (which I was warned about up-front) and migraines, particularly with bright lights. The migraines are amenable to Tylenol/Motrin but are unusually strong. When I asked why I was experiencing this, the explanation was that my eye muscles are "re-learning" how to adjust to the new vision, and that the headaches should subside within a week. For good vision, I suppose I'll deal with a week of migraines. On the flip side - I experienced a ton of frustration with regard to the payment process, and this is why I've deducted a few stars. I worked with Ms. Tigi Tadesse - as much as I hate to call out a specific person - and it was, in short, a total mess. For context, this clinic offers a COVID-era financing option where you pay the total cost off over 18 months at 0% interest. (Pre-COVID, it was 12 months - not 18.) The catch: this requires a hard credit check. Given that I was applying for a mortgage loan at the time, I inquired about any other financing options that might bypass that in favor of a "soft pull". During my consultation, Ms. Tadesse told me that this could be a possibility she would check into - that if we did a "soft pull", I would then put up to $1000 down up-front and pay off the rest over 6 months at 0% interest. Over the subsequent two weeks, I was thrown back and forth from associate to associate *without any clear communication* - I had to follow up every few days myself to check on the status of this request. Some staff who answered the phone alarmed me by telling me it was actually a maximum $2000 down payment (i.e. $1000 per eye), and that I had misunderstood the initial instruction. (On the contrary, I did not misunderstand - I verified this in person verbally several times during my initial consultation and wrote it down on the invoice in front of Ms. Tadesse. If I had misunderstood, there were multiple opportunities to correct me.) Other associates told me that in the past, they had capped the down payment for people applying for a mortgage loan to $1000 total. This back-and-forth nonsense over a few weeks caused me a significant degree of anxiety, alarm, and confusion. On top of that, after telling me the soft credit check was an option, Ms. Tadesse then emailed me a form to sign authorizing a credit check. When I noted that the verbiage in the letter implied they would be doing a hard credit check (contrary to our prior discussions), she said not to worry and to take her word for it that they wouldn't do that. I declined to sign this legally-binding document unless they provided a different letter where the text actually reflected the terms of our agreement. No one should be asked to sign a document that doesn't reflect exactly what's being done. She snapped at me, "I don't write letters," and referred me to the Finance Department, where they (of course) had no input at all and referred me back to the clinic. What a massive headache. In the end, out of sheer exhaustion, I just ended up writing the clinic a check and taking the financial hit all at the same time. As a patient, I have had a good experience here - but as a customer, the experience has been terrible. read more

This office is great and has an extremely nice staff. I went in for a free consultation and found out that my previous eye doctors had been misdiagnosing me for years. I didn't end up needing LASIK repair and they recommended some ways to fix my eyes and doctors that could help, not to mention giving me all of their data they obtained in order to take to my new doctor. What you say, they didn't just take my money anyway? No. They helped me tremendously even though they were not going to make a dime off of me. Worth every penny! I don't say this lightly. They're 100% professional and treat you like a person (not a number). Just like the reviews say, I went here because they were highly recommended and they were right! If you have any doubts then listen to my story. I went to a local LASIK center believing they were all the same and convenient, I was dead wrong. The place kept scheduling for exam after exam. Later I find out they'd tossed my records out each time and rescheduled me with a different excuse. Called LASIK plus and they were able to see me the next day at no cost! I'm so grateful for LASIK Plus, they didn't charge me for the exam and the cost for the procedure was cheaper then the local surgery center. If you ever visit here, ask about Dr. Smith's history. It is epic and will put you even more at ease knowing your in good hands. read more

Had my procedure done today. There was a bit of a wait as there were several other people being seen today, but it wasn't too long. Again, the staff was professional and very courteous as always. Answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Dr Smith was very friendly and direct. He gave me very specific instructions on what would happen before we walked into the "operating room." We went in, and he got to work. I was only in the operating room for around 6-8 minutes, and he gave me friendly coaching the whole way (where to look, when to relax, etc.) And then it was over. Easy! The ride home and the first few hours were hard. My eyes did burn quite a bit- as if I had touched a bunch of jalapeños and then rubbed my eyes vigorously. But I just kept my eyes closed and tried to sleep it off. I squeezed in a fitful nap. It's now 5 hours later and while my eyes are still a tiny bit swollen and sore, I can see! I'm so excited. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow morning so I'm eager to have my eyes checked and see what the doctor says. Overall I'm very, very happy that I chose LasikPlus and would definitely recommend Dr. Smith and his team to anyone! Update: it's been a few months now and my vision is fantastic. Only side effect I've experienced has been dry eyes at night, which is usually easily remedied by eye drops. My daytime vision is amazing. Night vision is almost as good, but is still far, far improved over what I was seeing before. Very glad I went through with this surgery and would do it again in a heartbeat. I received my Lasik surgery in June, 2014 and it has been the most incredible - best decision of my life. I researched a lot of places and visited about 5 doctors and hands-down this was the best place and I felt the most comfortable and confident when I walked out. The scheduling, the eye consultation process was fast and easy. The surgery was so fast and the next morning I could see! I had horrible eyes. One was nearsighted and another far sighted at about (-4.5) and (+4.3) and both had astigmatism, yet now my vision is great and I have no issues. My eyes did not get dry, I do not have double vision or blurriness. I researched a lot and knew there were some potential side affects, I have not received any of that. Both doctors are fantastic and just great customer service. Very happy with my decision. read more

Very disappointing experience. With a busy schedule, I called ahead to check whether I should wait a few weeks after I complete my pumping session because I read it somewhere that I would need to. The person on call said not to worry but go ahead and come in for an exam. It turned out I was indeed supposed to wait for three months. I had made sure not to waste anyone's time by calling ahead. And now I am asked to return without an exam after driving for 40 minutes and taking a half day off. I can't believe the scheduling person didn't know this info. They should provide better training. Instead I had wasted my time driving and waiting to be seen for nothing. Will find another eye center. read more

I was really nervous about getting Lasik, but I finally went to a consultation since my sister had her Lasik here I felt more secure with this place. I really liked how this clinic treated me, it was fast and easy and they worked with my busy work schedule. The Clinic itself was clean and the staff were super sweet and helpful. The Day of my surgery I was a nervous wreck, I kept calling and asking questions and they were very patient and understanding. Once I got there the staff was so funny and warm (I'm a huge weenie when it comes to my eyes, so they gave me a buddy to hold on to during my surgery) I loved that they tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible. As soon as I opened my eyes I could see, It was amazing ! Growing up I always needed glasses, I had really awful vision and to just open my eyes and see everything was truly an emotional feeling. I wrote a review previously regarding the great experience I had a LasikPlus. I am even more impressed and delighted with them after my most recent experience. The first surgery, although successful did not result in a true 20/20 vision,but it was still better than I have seen in 55 years (I started wearing glasses at the age of five).. After the initial surgery I was able to see much better, and even read the 20/20 line with both eyes, but after a couple of follow-up appointments, the doctors both said they would like to get me the best vision possible, and offered this service at no additional cost to me. I had my enhancement procedure yesterday and I am ecstatic about the results, I went in this morning and was able to read the 20/20 line with no effort at all. In plain terms, this demonstrates LasikPlus's commitment to service after the sale. These Doctors (Dr Smith and Dr Schimer) both care about you and it is demonstrated in their professionalism and dedication to ensuring you receive the highest quality of vision. In addition, the entire staff is very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. There really should be a case study written about this highest level of customer service. read more

Im writing this review with my new perfect vision! I would highly recommend this place if you're considering correcting your vision. For years, I've considered getting LASIK done but the thought of it terrified me. I had multiple satisfied friends go through this location so I decided to give it a try. From the initial consult through the surgery itself, everything went very smoothly. Much to my comfort, Dr. Smith was very quick with the actual procedure. He talked me through it which was very helpful and before I knew it, it was over. If I could give them 10 stars I would! However, NOTE: make sure you've taken care of all payments BEFORE going back for the surgery. I was incredibly nervous already and then when I was back there, first set of numbing drops delivered, protective hair cap already on, the front desk girl came to pull me to the front to collect payment. I had previously sent my fiancé to double check to make sure we could pay first but even then, they said wait until after. Then apparently changed their minds and pulled me away seconds before my surgery, contributing to my anxiety. So just make sure you pay first, once the surgery is over, you'll want to walk straight out the door. Minus that little blip, everything went very well.
