Medical staff was great and Dr. Smith does incredible work...BUT... their telephone answering service is inefficient, incompetent and unprofessional. This is a huge issue to me because when you need to schedule a follow up or reach the office for a question, you have to go through their answering service. On more than one occasion, after giving them ALL of my demographics, they accidentally hang up and don't bother calling me back, after just asking me for my phone number. So I have to call back and start over in the loop. They often transfer you back and forth before actually being able to get you in touch with someone in the office. It took me 20 minutes and one hangup just to schedule a follow up appointment. This is just a very poor way to communicate. LASIK Plus is only as good as the people they hire to help them provide a service. As of now they aren't good at all. read more

An absolutely WONDERFUL experience. I will (and have) recommended Dr. Smith to anyone. The staff is very nice, completely genuine, and honestly concerned about you and your surgery/well being after surgery. The site is very clean, well-kept, and easy to navigate. I had PRK surgery in January of 2010, and the actual surgery lasted less than 2 minutes. My parents were able to sit right outside the room and look through the window to what was going on the entire time! Once I got home that night, Dr. Smith himself called me to check on me - that's what I call service!!! I've gone back several times for appointments, and the members of the staff remember my name. Unlike other places, this is not a conveyor belt. Here you are treated like an individual and important person. There is literally no wait time at all. They run on time every time. I LOVED the staff! They were so friendly and patient with my terror at having this done. The nurse even hugged me before and afterwards. The doctors had awesome senses of humor and put me at ease. I'm so glad I didn't chicken out because this was amazingly fast and easy. From the time I entered the surgical room until the moment I got in the car to go home was 16 minutes. There's absolutely no pain, just slight pressure for about 10 seconds per eye. I am so happy that after all my research and phone calls, I chose LASIK plus. I recommend them without reservation. I love them so much. Best of all, I can see!!! Update: 1 week after surgery I started having severe pain. It was the weekend, so I called the emergency number and the doc spoke to me at 11:30pm Saturday night and again Sunday morning. Considering it was his days off, he was more kind and friendly than I could have ever expected. I went to the office today and I had 2 eyelashes embedded under my eyelids. No big deal, but painful. I was terrified of getting lasik done, but it was something that I knew would benefit me greatly. I've been wearing glasses / contacts for 17 years and to be honest I was just sick of it. I looked around at a ton of places and lasik plus seemed great. I made the appointment for my consultation on a Monday and when it came time for it there was less than a 5 minute wait. The whole process was very smooth, every step was explained to me, and I felt very comfortable throughout. Plan on being there for about an hour - hour and a half for the consult. And your eyes will be dilated so I'd get someone to drive you home if you live far like I do! I scheduled my surgery for the Friday of that week, which was very exciting. Day of surgery was smooth. Dr. Smith explained everything to me which was super helpful and made me feel very relaxed. I think the biggest thing I can mention to anyone debating is you will not feel a thing. It's a very weird feeling, but no pain at all. Once I sat up I could already see a lot better and the next day my vision is at 20/15! I am so pleased. My only regret is not getting it done sooner!! read more

Just went in for my 3 month check up and I couldn't be happier. Great staff, all knowledgeable, and they made the experience as comfortable as possible. My vision was in the -6 with horrible astigmatism in both eyes. Today, I was able to read the eye chart for 20/15! It did take my eyes a bit longer than others due to the poor vision, but it cleared up a out a week and a half after the procedure. No regrets at all. Everyone else is jealous now! read more

Went here yesterday. Everything in the beginning went smooth, the tech was nice, doctor was very professional as well. Then when I was really about to put down my $3500 to do my LASIK, the front desk girl had to ruin my whole experience there. If I'm paying that much there, I expect the best service from them. They really need to hire better people to run the front desk. There was no type of professional bedside manners, I was being rushed out of there even though they were two hours from closing, I was not informed of anything about financing options by the front desk girl, she would literally cut me off while I was talking and asking questions about the procedure. She didn't even talk to me about appointments and when I would like to schedule or what not. Made me feel like I was just another one of their many patients that they see throughout the day. LASIKplus need to go ahead and start hiring new front desk people who knows about professional bedside manners. Definitely won't be returning. read more

Getting lasik corrective eye surgery is a huge deal, and you need to be super comfortable with your doctor and the place you are going to in order to actually get this completed. I went here because a fellow yelper, Sapna N, recommended them and had a wonderful experience there. I went for my consultation during my lunch period, and they explained everything to me in full detail. They answered all my questions properly, and even after I had left the office and called them about a few forgotten questions, they were able to help me out. The day of my surgery, I was a tad bit nervous but Dr Smith eased me into the process again. After the procedure was completed, I went home and rested up. They made sure the follow up with me to check on me, and also called to remind me of follow up appointments. I finally pulled the trigger on getting lasik after some extensive research. LasikPlus is a nationwide chain and I literally looked up all their reviews in Texas and saw that every location had amazing reviews, to the point where I thought it was too good to be true. I'm now about 4 days post-op and I can say the process was really smooth and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Everyone at this location, from the girls at the front desk to the doctors, were friendly and really seemed to care about their patients. Wait times were reasonable and despite the place being quite busy when I came in for my consultation, i was seen faster than I expected. Pricing was also very reasonable especially for my terrible eyesight and they give a good discount if you have health insurance. Also, there is a lifetime of free tune ups if your vision starts to fade over the years. The fact that you can get this done at any of their locations was a huge selling point for me. I think they do a thorough job examining your eyes before telling you if you are a good candidate and the overall surgery takes about 10 minutes. I could see better immediately although they said it takes at least a week for your vision to completely stabilize. It's pretty much pain free during the operation but I will say after I went home and the numbing medications wore off, I was miserable since my eyes burned and I could barely open them for a few hours. By the end of the day I felt significantly better and was able to drive without trouble. I've been applying the eye drops as prescribed and other than some residual dry eyes, I feel almost 100% better. I'm still amazed at how well I can see right now, better than with my old lenses even. read more
