I'm a fan of this lash studio as I've gone 3-4x within the year. It is a trial and error situation to find out what works best for your eye shape and vision. It was a recommended studio from a friend, and they also have a location in Greenpoint. I will say that having a more experienced technician, will result in better application - some technicians will put too much glue at the base of the lash. They don't give their customers a receipt and when paying by credit card they run the charge without a corresponding receipt from a register. Staff was always professional and area was clean, but I did NOT like that each time I went the price was higher and higher for the same set. I've been coming to lashwonderland for a while now and used to love it. I used to have Cici or Yana til I was told they were "on vacation"....months ago. There's all new technicians now. Today I had Amanda and Amanda was TERRIBLE. She was very rough on my lashes and she basically ripped the eye patches and tape off my eyes without being gentle or careful at all. On top of that she didnt even do a good job! My lash extensions look uneven and sparse - and I get the 120 so there is NO reason they shouldn't look full. I probably said "ouch" like 20 times and she didn't care. She had an attitude from the second she started. She roughly turned my head to the directions she wanted it and took NO care in being gentle with my lashes or skin. She is HORRIBLE and shame on LashWonderland for hiring her. I found this place through Groupon and wasn't expecting much - I just needed to get my lashes done before I went on vacation. These photos are AFTER I spent 10 days in Hawaii, swimming in pools and oceans everyday, laying on the beach, sunscreen, sand, wind, rain, I even dove off a boat head first into the water and not one lash moved. It was my first time at Lash Wonderland two weeks ago and I got the $48 deal on Groupon. 11-12-13 sizes, C-curl for the cat eye. It was a very pleasant experience as I was greeted by the front desk and technician warmly; during the appointment I was coughing a little and my technician offered me water an assured me not to worry. (Thank you for making me feel comfortable!) My lashes were full and sexy but still natural. Lashes began to fall off at the end of my second week, but it wasn't a significant amount that made it look sparse or empty. So I was satisfied about that. Decided to book a two week touch up today anyhow since it could use some filling in. Another $45 for two-week touch up and I love the way I look once again. I paid with venmo!! So awesome that they allowed that. And of course tipped with cash. (The ATM charges a $2 withdrawal fee though, so get your cash beforehand) I will be back for my next touch-up!!!! A solid 3.5 stars actually, but I bumped it up since the place was clean; Amy was gentle and friendly, and the application experience was pleasant. I purchased a groupon for this place and made an appointment shortly after. [Please note: there is a $3 tax that isn't included in your groupon, so come prepared with extra cash to tip for their service as well since they spend quite a bit of time on your lashes!] I did a full set of 80 lashes 12 C curl. There is a book outside that lets you pick your style and length. The appointment itself took about 50 min. Pros Place: There is water in the waiting area you can help yourself to but be sure to use the bathroom before you get started. The room is very simple and clean with 4-5 beds. They have soft, relaxing music playing in the background; There is a basket at one end of the bed to place all of your belongings. You can sleep of listen to your own music. Application: You should probably come in with a clean, bare face. Do a little research on the shape and look that you're going for. Amy cleaned off the area surrounding my lashes and placed a patch on my forehead, and she took great care not to wipe of my brows since I filled them in. The tape underneath your eyes is a little uncomfortable and will make you feel like you can't open your lids (which you shouldn't anyway), so just relax for an hour. Once the application was done, the lashes looked beautiful and they feel like your own lashes. I absolutely couldn't tell that there were extensions on my natural lashes. Cons Results: It's been two weeks now and I have taken great care not to get my lashes wet. I also have only worn eyeliner once since. My lashes look a little weird now because they've fallen out a bit unevenly. In addition when they fall, I don't see my natural lash attached to the extension, which makes me feel like the glue was either not strong enough or not applied well. I have several lashes that stick out straight (my natural ones) on one end but are attached to extensions. I think that the extensions were either glued only to half of my natural lash therefore leaving the rest of my awkward straight lash sticking out, or that the glue is not strong enough. Tip: One suggestion I would make is for them to hand customers a card with care instructions. They will tell you not to get it wet for 24 hours. I would probably wait 48. In addition, try not to touch your lashes as your hands are oily. Instead use an eyelash brush to gently comb them out. Overall, it was a good experience, but I was a little disappointed that its only been 2 weeks (+1 day today) and they're falling apart and awkward looking with my straight lashes sticking out. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend who has been going here for a while. My friend started on a Groupon and suggested I do the same. I searched and did find them on Groupon so I called to make an appointment and advised the receptionist that I was purchasing the 60 lash Groupon. This was a Thursday afternoon, I made the appointment for that Saturday (Christians was the following Wednesday- this will be important later). The receptionist asked me if I had already purchased the Groupon to which I responded "not yet"- because there was 10-4 pm timing restriction indicated on the Groupon, I wanted to be sure that there was not going to be any issues with scheduling. My thought process was book first buy Groupon later.... her response was "we will honor the Groupon price here, you don't have to buy it"...I have heard this before, it was not a red flag at the time. Appointment set! Saturday arrives and I get to my appointment. All is going well, they helped me pick from all my options- who knew how overwhelming it could be?! We get the process going and an hour and change later, the technician is done and the lashes look lovely. No complaints... Time to pay.... I tell them I was told that they would honor the Groupon price and go to show them what is currently on Groupon. Response= "we don't take Groupons this weekend"...again, it was the weekend before Christmas... next person chimed in "we don't do the 60 lash option anymore"... to which I respond "I understand I got 90 lashes and figured there would be some price adjustment but when I called on Thursday I was told the price would be honored"... and we all stood there looking at each other the. Exchanged a little more. Ultimately, I folded- because I was not going to raise hell during the holiday season, I had never purchased the Groupon and the price I was being charged was at a loss not that steep. Nonetheless, I did let them know that their business tactic of choice was disgusting. All in all, the lashes look good. 3 days into having them, perhaps a review is a little premature to speak to the longevity of their process but that was not the purpose of this review... beware of the Groupon situationand take everything shared in a phone conversation with this business with a grain of salt as you just might have a different experience IRL. Update: Within a few days one eye was pretty sparse in remaining lashes. I contacted the business within the 5 day window period and they honored a correction, which was nice. 5 days after that, still looking good... The business did respond to this review and sadly misquoted me. They also gave an explanation for the situation that did not sit well with me and makes me wonder if I was clear on describing the situation because the responder seemed to misunderstand what actually unfolded- but at this point it's whatever. Based off the business representative's response, I'm not sure that I will return but again, the end result was nice. The pricing/ Groupon situation is still a different story. read more

I got my lashes done about two weeks ago here. Something great is that they offer Groupon prices to clients even without a groupon. I think I got about 100 lashes an eye. The setup: there's a small waiting room and then a larger room with about five beds and no partitions. Everyone gets their lashes done in the same room. I've never seen this before but it's actually very comfortable. They also have really plush blankets so I was asleep 25 minutes in. The work: I got a 17 length bc my lashes are pretty long. Both I and the technicians loved them. They could have been a little thicker but I didn't verbalize that. It was pretty quick and efficient. The follow up: after a couple of days they started to fall out. Probably the quickest my lashes have fallen out but I think that might be the normal cycle. Going to try to get in today got a refill. Would I go back?: yes, I would. I only gave it a three because the lashes came off quicker than my other places but overall it was a pleasant experience. Also very affordable. Also BRING CASH. They charge you an extra fee for using cards, or you can use their ATM, which charges a nominal fee. That seems a little unfair so as a marketer I would suggest saying you get a $x discount when you pay cash instead of you charge me $x extra for a card. Update: I went back. I would give this place 4 stars if it wasn't for their service and receptionist that I dealt with and made my experience here one of the worst examples of customer services that I've encountered here. The extensions themselves looked pretty good, and Im generally happy with how they turned out! But the receptionist was AWFUL. It was a man who was extremely unprofessional, rude, and essentially had a threatening undertone to how he conducted business with me. I made an appointment for a Sunday late afternoon slot, and that morning, I called the store wondering if it might be possible and okay to reschedule my appointment. I knew of their cancellation policy which is WHY I called to see if it might be possible to change my appointment. Had he said it was not possible, I would have accepted that and gone for my appointment. However he said it was fine and asked me when to reschedule it to and I told him next Friday or Saturday evening and we ended up with Friday 5:30 pm. That same day, he called me at 5:30 without even a polite greeting when I picked up and exclaimed in a very rude tone that I had an appointment and I wasnt there. I told him we had changed it and I spoke to him that morning about it and he denied this. He claimed I had changed it to that Sunday at 5:30 pm even though I told him either Friday or Saturday. He then threatened to charge me and at that point I got very annoyed because that was the whole entire reason I called that morning to see if it might be at all feasible to change it without a fee and he said it was ok and then attempted to threaten to charge my credit card. Eventually, he said it was fine and hed waive it but as an exchange I was NOT ALLOWED to change or cancel my appointment and I would be OBLIGATED and MUST show up at all costs. He acted as if I should be grateful that he didnt charge me even though it was his FAULT that he either forgot or misheard or misunderstood what I said. His insolent nature of telling me what I must do and the way he proceeded with telling me that I was NOT ALLOWED AND MUST show up no matter what or he'll charge me with a threatening and rude tone was absolutely astounding to me. He threatened me twice in that call, not once speaking to me with respect and instead with rudeness and in a condescending nature. It was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional, and while I honestly had a pleasant experience with my extensions, I wont be going back because the receptionist's behavior was so disrespectful that I dont think its worth it; it ruined my entire view if the place before I even got there. There are plenty of other lash spots in the city that are just as good and provide decent service. While I can handle impatient or "meh" service, I dont appreciate, as a paying customer, to be threatened, and spoken to like trash about something that wasnt even my fault and was his instead. read more

I visited Lash Wonderland twice- the first time I purchased a Groupon and had Sophie as my tech. She was fast, efficient, and listened to what I wanted. I loved my lashes so much I recommended it to my friend, and returned a few weeks later... Fast forward three weeks later I come in for my refill with 80% of my lashes still intact. I tell them I want to just fill in the sparse area at the end because I like the cat eye look... The technician proceeds to remove all of my lashes (I didn't know this until the end of my appointment) and I'm left with less than what I came in with!!!!! I didn't come to pay for a lash removal! I came for a refill! On top of that, the tech I had this time was HORRIBLE: 1) she was resting so heavily on my forehead for the entire hour that I left with a major migraine 2) she scratched my cheek with the extremely pointy tweezers that they use, 3) she glued my top and bottom lashes together, and it took another technician 20 minutes to un-do and remove the glue!! When I went to the desk to pay, the owner (a male) was unaccommodating and didn't want to hear what I had to say. He said when clients come in for "refills" the "bad" lashes are always removed. Understood - but they are also REPLACED with new lashes, which was not the case for me.
