Jo's among the few I trust with regards to my hair, face and etc. She always does a great job and recommends the best style to suite my face. P/U my daughter, not impressed as my credit card attached had charged my cc over $220.00. I went in, asking how much the service would cost - technician mentioned $130.00 while she did my daughters lashes, the technician failed to mention other fees. As I took a look at the charge placed on my credit card, spoke to my daughter she told me she paid the fee, plus 15% tip the remainder was a cancellation/appt. change fee. I've asked the technician of the charges to my credit card, she told me it was cancellation fee from missed appt. So how is it Lash Venue technician receives a tip out, charges a cancellation fee/missed appt. when they are billing out for a future service. Well I wouldn't recommend the place due to the technician's communication prior to payment as I had asked her of the costs "$130.00" during the lash appointment of $130.00 then my credit was billed over $220.00. The location is off the beaten path, Nanaimo & Broadway - my recommendation is try a place such as Noir Lash Lounge, or YUMI Lash Lift pro Paula at 1057 Cambie (check Instagram) as reputable businesses have better policies and are diligent in communication. Don't waste your money here. We work hard for our money - so if the technician communicates $130.00 you should pay that amount only. Perhaps management and the technician should be more upfront - with the communicated fees occur. Poor management and unfair communication via the lash technician will evidently leave this type of response, included policies are not posted to the website - a reputable business won't book appointment by text. read more

I honestly never write bad reviews but I was disgusted with my experience at this salon. I have never been treated with as little respect as I was at lash venue. I volunteered my lashes for a student who was practising. I enjoy volunteering as I'm in the beauty industry myself and always need models for different marketing. The girl who was doing my lashes was very polite , Lilly I believe her name was. A girl had lay beside me to also get her lashes done. She had started bashing "white chicks" to her technician (I was the only "white chick" present). Her technician had obviously motioned at me laying beside her and they all started laughing and continued their conversation in their own language. As senior technicians came over to monitor my junior technicians work they kept laughing at what I believe was my technician struggling with her work. Again speaking in their own language chose to say in English over me "Beggers Can't Be choosers" which my technician and and the girls found hilarious. I tried to give my technician respect and not show her how I felt about this. It took 5 hrs of glue leaking into my eye and snide remarks until I got to leave lash venue. I would have paid my technician the price I usually pay for my lashes but I was so disgusted and hurt I just wanted to leave. read more

I first heard about Lash Venue while scrolling through my Instagram feed (the powers of social media!) and with the holiday season approaching I wanted to get my lashes done. Coming from the Tri-cities, I was attracted to Lash Venue for its location in Vancouver (Broadway and Victoria, across from TD Bank), as well as its pricing (starting at $70 for the Polished set -- definitely a steal, although I don't think this price will stay low for long!). I've been to the other main lash extension boutiques in the city several times over but Lash Venue definitely gives them a run for their money. My appointment started a bit late because they were running a bit behind, but no big deal. The beds that you lie on are like dentist chairs that recline all the way back so that you're lying down, but not straining your neck.They also placed a layer of tissue paper on the bed before you lie down (similar to when you sit at the doctor's office) - very sanitary! It may feel sterile, but they cover you with a comfortable blanket so you're warm and cozy. There's also a little storage ottoman at the foot of the chair for you to store your bag/belongings during your session. I opted for the Polished look (about 60 lashes per eye) because I prefer a more natural look, and that was plenty enough. They also offer the Classic Full set (85 lashes for $95) and for extra va-va-voom, the Extreme Full set for $125 (110 lashes). Keep in mind, these prices are with a senior tech. For their seasonal (I assume temporary) promotion, the prices are even cheaper with a junior tech. Lash Venue isn't just exclusive for eyelash extensions, but they have a nail menu as well for manicures and pedicures. Overall I was very satisfied with my lashes. My appointment took about an hour (which flew by) and I loved the look. It took about a week before a single lash fell out naturally, which I consider very good. The application was very well done, as my lashes were all applied very nicely and in the same direction. I don't really have anything negative to say, except that they used a tape similar to masking tape to cover the bottom of my eyes. I know some clients may not like that and prefer the softer gel pads some other businesses use. Nonetheless I think I will definitely return to Lash Venue, as the prices and quality are very good, and their location in Vancouver beats driving downtown. read more

I booked in advance for a junior technician for a classic half set. It is a small lash salon at nanaimo and broadway with reasonable pricing. You have the option of choosing a junior technician or senior technician to do your lashes. They briefly explained to me about the 3 types of styles you can get. I chose the round eye. The technician chose the length for me but you can ask to adjust to your liking. I think they used the c or d curls on me. The whole process was comfy and took about 2 hours. At the end the technician actually accidentally did a full set on me (still charged me the price of half set which is great). My lashes stuck on well, lasted for a long time. They also give you a spoolie for brushing your lashes. read more

I have been here twice, both times with different technicians, and both times I have been happy with the lashes I received. The girls took the time to ask me what my preferences are, and decide what works best for me. The atmosphere is really great- the beds are really comfy and you get a fluffy blanket too! Ladies, this is first class! If you are visiting Vancouver or think that downtown places are "better" I will justify this to be the very best hidden gem in Vancouver that I have ever been to. It's worth the 10-15 dollar taxi ride from downtown over to the very relaxing and cheerful ambiance in the salon. I would recommend to book in advance for an appointment because they are so busy, because they are so skilled, but it is worth the wait if you cannot get in right away. I went to another place because I could not get in and it was not half as great as the lash Venue. I have had my lashes done there many times, and the quality, the length of time they stay in (sometimes they last up to over a month before I need a whole set and can get away with a fill) along with the hard working staff, certainly deserve a thumbs up, and a golden five star rating. I am really, really picky, I have very sensitive skin, and very blond eyelashes which makes it extra time consuming for techs to find and fill, which usually means it;s more costly or they don't have enough time to do a fuller set (rolls eyes). At the Lash Venue they take the time to make sure my lashes are as full as I want and that I am comfortable. I have not found another place that compares. If there has been anything wrong they fix it. I keep coming back to lash Venue because it is the best. I even fall asleep while my lovely and highly skilled little Vina is working on my lashes lol. I've been doing my lashes there for a very long time now and they never disappoints me! I always get stopped by strangers asking where I get my lashes done! I actually found lash venue through Google as I was browsing through the Internet (my lash girl at that time was fully booked ) I made an appointment and was scheduled the next day . I was late for my appointment 20 minutes I think ,because I had to deal with a family matter , it's totally my fault , I get it . I got a call from lash venue , n I guess the girl that was supposingly doing my lashes was pissed . she said " u know your very late for your appointment right " , n so I explained why I was late , n so she goes " ok hurry up " then hangs up . :/ I understand , my fault . I entered n was shown to the bed I was gonna get my lashes done. Didn't felt welcomed at all and when I layed down , I noticed everyone else has a blanket on them , I wasn't even offered if I wanted the blanket on me ( m pregnant n get cold easily,I should have asked) she told me to close my eyes and she then started doing my lashes n told me that I have lots of lashes and that I should get the "extreme plus", n I said ok, why not . The whole process of getting my lashes done with my eyes closed was, horrible!!!!!!! I understand that u talk to your co workers. But you don't yell because the other co worker was at the receptionist table and they were having a conversation bout another co worker ,literally talking behind her back (she wasn't working on that day ) I don't mind chatting and I totally understand people talk and what not , well that's fine. But I hear a lot of "f**k" and a conversation how this girl "sucks his c**k etc" it was so annoying and unprofessional. And also hearing conversations of the workers talking bad bout other customers or saying things like " hey do you think the girl that came in yesterday and asked about our prices, do u think she's gonna get lashes done by us. ? The other one said , ew no she looks cheap " and so and so .. The worst thing was that they kept changing the music and one of them will be like " omg this one this one ! It's my song ! " n starts singing to it like its karaoke. I literally layed there for 2.5 hours hearing a bunch of girls gossip . I just wanted to relaxI don't expect complete silence, but please don't raise your voice while your doing my lashes , my head hurts and I don't want to know other people's business The lashes were okay. But I heard by some of my friends saying if u got the junior tech , they suck and don't last. My other friend told me she got an eye infection , but she probably didn't know how to care for it . I liked them , but I wouldn't go back unless I know for sure I won't get the same experience agIn. N I'm 100% sure they probably talked behind my back when I left ;/ since they were talking bout other clients when I was there. Pros: Inexpensive. Accessible and free street parking nearby. Multiple technicians with different price points for senior or junior technicians. Nice results. Appointment can be made by text message. Was able to get a last minute appointment with a junior technician. Technicians are clean - wearing gloves/face masks. Cons: Website hasn't been updated since February 2017, social media isn't properly linked. Space is open so noise travels. It is definitely not too relaxing. Music is loud (as mentioned by others), you can hear technicians chatting with each other. With my previous lash girl at a different place, you couldn't feel her working at all. She was gentle and I could only feel my eyelashes moving, nothing pokes or prods. However with my junior technicians, I could feel her working. It wasn't painful, but it wasn't as comfortable or sleep-inducing as I've experienced before. Overall: If I needed a quick fill between appointments with my regular girl, I'd come back but ask for a senior tech next time. read more

Few years back I had lash extensions before it was a popular thing. My experience from that ( it was a spa in yaletown ) was shitty. I didnt know any better and didnt know how the process worked. I had the lashes on for a few days and my eye lids swelled up and it was itchy as hell. I called them back as it looked like I had been crying for days when I havent. It felt pokey and irritated and to be honest I told myself never again will I get this done. I called the tech that did my lashes and she told me removal was gonna cost at the time a arm and a leg so i ripped it out. Keep in mind this was like around 2005, so I was around 20 and at that time and I wouldnt spend much on getting myself decked out. Anyways, as my sister convinces me to get them done cause our friend gets hers done by Cece or Vena, I was super sketched out that it'll be a waste of money cause itll be so uncomfortable and Ill probably take it off myself. I met Vena she was the one that hooked me up with my fresh set. Her and I clicked like white on rice. I felt comfortable and she educated me on what she thinks I should have. I originally wanted the volume set which was the most expensive one on the menu. I mentioned my passed experienced and she used her expertise to judge weather I may be allergic to the glue or it could be poor placement from the previous lash tech. She laced me up with the "Classic" set and suggested for me to feel it out within 24 hours as you will notice if you are allergic or not within the hours. She said if all is well, come back in and we will fill it more as I originally wanted it. Her professionalism was on point. I just got them done today so I am carefully monitoring it if I am allergic to the glue. So far so good. I saw a old time friend there apprenticing as well and her name is Pam and after seeing Vena and Cece's work im more than confident them teaching her shes going to be great at lashes as well. Cece hooked up my sister with some heavy duty volume lashes it was sooooo nice. They were fairly fast, very clean. I dont think I would go else were. I wish these girls all the best in business because they all are so genuinely kind and hard working. I will definitely send alot of referrals to them with out a doubt. I also heard someone yelping about a bad review about this place. In all honesty, being a entrepreneur is not a easy thing to do. Being in the business of services you can only give 100% and try your best, in reality you cant please everyone. You wont be everyones cup of tea and your gonna fuck up sometimes and thats the truth. i was referred to lash venue by a client (she got it done here and they looked amazing). i booked an appointment with pamela (a junior tech, who is now a senior btw. YAY). she asked me whether this was my first time having lash extensions, which it wasn't. she then went on to ask what i didn't like about my past experience. i told her and she gave suggestions. she was very informative and helpful - her recommendations were spot on. and since 80% of their clients are asian, they definitely understand the asian eye situation thoroughly. a week after, the lashes on my right eye were falling out rather quickly (i wasn't sure why so i told pamela about the situation). she asked me to come in right away to fix them. she gave me a complimentary fill. the customer service here is on point - they acknowledge that they're not perfect, but are always willing to grow and improve. i initially requested a junior cause they're cheaper, but i loved pamela's services so much that i'm sticking to her despite her promotion to senior (seniors are around $10-20 more for their services). recommend this place for anyone looking for a good fill or set :) read more

My friend/lash girl was on a super long vacation so I booked an appointment with Lash Venue...but it was a HUGE MISTAKE. First of all, they were not welcoming at all. All they did were gossip, gossip and gossip... but the worst part was the extensions they did. They were GLUED to my skin to make them last. I found these girls originally on craigslist beauty section and started seeing them at their broadway location. When I got there, everyone was really nice. My lash tech was a JR tech and she did such a good job on my lashes and I'm definitely coming back there for refills. I decided to try lash venue because a girl from my work recommended it. After seeing her lashes done by them, I was sold. I booked two weeks in advance. My senior technician was Pamela. I specified that I wanted the "extreme look" after seeing pictures on instagram how full it looks. I agree with some of the reviews on here. If you're looking for a professional place to get your lashes done, this is not the place to go. All I heard were conversations from the workers about ass implants and which guy you'd rather sleep with, etc. It's not professional at all. The conversations were quite disturbing and it wasn't a relaxing atmosphere. There's also a lot of gossip. Anyway, when I opened my eyes, I noticed that they didn't look quite as full as I desired, nothing like the pictures that I've seen for the "extreme look". I wasn't happy but I didn't want to be mean so I just paid and left. I followed the care instructions but the same night I got them done, some of the lashes were already falling out! My right eye didn't even match my left eye to begin with but that just made it worst! I texted the store telling them I need to fix it asap as I'm going on vacation and they told me this: "Since I have u on the phone I might as well tell u. As of September we will be going under new management. We will be short staffed. I don't think the tech that will be doing ur lashes fri sep 9 will be qualified for u. It's best if you find another lash shop. Thanks for ur understanding. See u tmw at 2:30." This is the first time that a business has tried to get rid of a customer (myself) lol I know plenty of girls who are associated with them and for a fact, they're not going under new management. Also, I don't understand how the tech that I booked with on Sep 9 wasn't qualified for me.. I was told she was a senior tech named Emily. Anyways, I feel like I was lied to after they wanted to get rid of me just because I asked them to fix my lashes. After my lashes were fixed, they looked great. They didn't charge me for the fix because there were gaps and missing pieces. I just walked out. I don't understand why this service wasn't given to me the first time. Now it's been a week and I'd say at least 25% of my lashes have fallen out and they're uneven again - at just one week! It was a waste of time going back and forth. I will not be going back. Don't worry about that! I feel they already have a good client base and if you're one of those higher maintenance customers like myself, they'll just give you the boot since their already making money from other customers. Mixed feelings: nice lashes but poor scheduling. Initially my appointment was booked for a removal and extreme plus full set. I showed up 25 minutes early and waited. I was called in shortly after my appointment time and the girl takes me to the bed and says "fill right?" And I looked at her surprised she didn't have the details of what I was there for and explained I was there for a removal of a few lashes left and a full set, all which was discussed through texts I have from the salon. She then tells me she doesn't have time to do either of the day, she says we can remove the lashes and just do a "polish" or she can try to fill me in with a classic set. I was upset as I was leaving for vacation and wouldn't be able to find another place on such short notice, and I couldn't understand how they could make such a booking mistake, supposedly her next client was at 2:30 and it was already about 1:15 when we were having this discussion. Another girl offered to help remove my set for my tech, but after that was done, I didn't want that tech back fearing she'd rush my extreme plus set and do a hack job. Luckily the girl who did my removal offered to take me as her client instead. Now I will say the lashes themselves looked very nice and lasted decently as I was in Bali on vacation. However the professionalism and method of scheduling has me a bit paranoid in terms of booking further appointments or recommending to a friend. I have a fill arranged but I'm still skeptical and at this point I only want the tech who did this set for me to do my fill since the other girl wasn't helpful at all, so I'm hoping I don't show up with a change of plans on their end again. Would have been 4 stars if it wasn't for the whole situation with not getting the service I was booked in for with the other tech. We'll see how the fill goes and I'll update. I love Lash Venue! I've been going here since they opened and I don't trust anyone else with my lash extensions. I always receive so many compliments on my lashes. They do an amazing job with no damage to my actual lashes. The techs here are very knowledgeable and can answer all your questions about how to care for your lashes and which lashes will suit your eyes. Their prices for the quality and the amount of time they spend on each appointment is unbeatable in Vancouver. All the staff are so friendly. Highly recommended!!!! read more

I feel like the techs do a good job and I have been quite happy with the results each time. The beds are comfortable and the location is good. But, this last set started to fall out quicker than normal and a lot of the lashes were getting turned around. My tech seemed distracted because she was taking part of the gossip. I am not sure if I will come back here because of the employees. Every time I have been there all they do is gossip and talk to each other very loud. At some points they are yelling across the room at each other. They turn the music up super loud and some of them start singing to the songs. They change the songs constantly turning it up and down. I personally don't find this comfortable when I am getting my lashes done, laying there for a few hours with my eyes taped shut and I am sure other don't either. I swear a lot in my personal life, but I find it weird that these girls think its appropriate to swear or talk about sex when they are at work and the salon is full of clients. I have been to many many other salons and I haven't seen one as loud/gossipy as this one. Its a shame because I am sure they all do good work there and the prices are reasonable. If I was the owner/manager I would put a stop to this behavior because that can definitely ruin a business over time. read more
