No problem; it's the DC area and traffic happens. Yet 15 mins came and went and she still had not arrived. At 10:20 AM, I receive another text message letting me know that she is 2 mins away. Okay, great... but another 15 mins passes before she finally makes her way to the shop. In addition to being over 30 mins late for the appointment, she also had her young daughter in tow. Normally, this would be of no concern to me but it proved to continue to delay my service as she had to constantly stop to address or tend to her daughter. And then there was her cell phone... I understand that when operating a small business, you may need to perform double duty, like answering your business line while attending to your client. But she was also making calls that could have clearly waited, like calling her wireless company to discuss changing her service plan. As for the lashes themselves, they turned out rather decent. Because of the shortness of my natural lashes, she recommended that I go with shorter extensions, which turned out to be a very good choice. However, once they were done, I didn't even receive any instructions on how to take care of them. I won't say not to patronize this place because it has serious potential to be great. I was already stuck in traffic for a hour trying to get to her so I needed to know if she would still be able to take me at 5:30pm instead. I called 30 minutes prior to my appointment at 4:30pm and left an a voicemail to inform her of the lateness and ask if she would like to reschedule but no answer. I called her again at 5pm and again no answer. Now I'm 5 minutes away from her salon when she decides to inform me of a late fee through text because I will be 30 minutes late for my appointment. Its unprofessional because we could've discussed this a whole hour before I arrived and I could've made the decision to proceed or not had she answered her phone that she was so attentive to when I was getting my lashes done AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF....SHE POKED MY EYEBALL and the next day was red and painful. I hate my loc extensions. I already had loc'ed hair and it was a decent length. (I like locs in…read moregeneral, this isn't about me disliking the hairstyle) I got loc extensions past my shoulders on 9/9 and I am ready to cut them out on 9/24. Why? Why would I spend an exorbitant amount of money on locs only to take them out 2 weeks and 1 day later? Since they are interlocked into my real hair I am not going to try to comb them out and salvage my real hair. I'll start here 1. My hair is soft and dark brown the locs are off black and made with 4 C hair. They do not match my real hair AT ALL and the color washes me out. 2. They are stiff, itchy, not uniform size, heavy looking and ugly (think the hats in Jamaica with the locs attached to the hat). I don't know why Krystina didn't use the right color and/or at least explain that the extensions would not match my real hair color or texture. (Or explained anything, for that matter. I walked in and she got to work no "Q & A" prior to starting) 3. They are very heavy and very bulky and look very unnatural up close. 4. I tie up my hair (EVERY NIGHT) and my parts did not stay. (Perhaps inferior products) I have not done anything other than tie up my hair at night and untie it in the AM. I wish the professional (Krystina) would have analyzed my hair texture and density and advised differently based on her "healthy hair first" mantra. After all, I am not the professional!
