This was my first time getting lash extensions, so I chose Lash Moi. Biggest mistake for my lashes. I had called in advance and told the receptionist what I was looking for in my lashes, and she told me that their 60-80 dollar lashes were their most popular and most dramatic. I went for that option. This woman named Emily did my lashes. They looked OK as soon as I got them done. I got home and took a better look and they were uneven, I had already lost a few lashes, and overall looked and felt horrible. I called the store back and they let me come back in to "troubleshoot". Their manager told me they usually charge for that. How're you going to charge a new customer for a mistake that you all made? Anyways, I was feeling fine afterwards. The next few days I kept them unwet, cleansed then with the cleaner they gave me and their brushes (both overly priced) and did everything they told me to do. It's day two and I woke up with almost half my lashes gone. Do not go to this place. They do not know what they are doing and considering this is my first ever time getting lash extensions, I don't even know if I want them again. read more

I have visited Lash Moi on four occasions for services related to microblading done by Julie (the owner). I personally had issues with fading since the beginning. I had my first procedure done on 8/17/16 and my follow-up done four weeks later on 9/13/16, in which Julie added more strokes due to some fading. At that time, I asked Julie about the use of a darker ink and was told that she thought the ink she used was a good match. I trusted her opinion and accepted the color she used. I went in for my complimentary eyebrow waxing on 11/5/16 and asked Julie about the fading. She asked if I was using sunscreen, which I was at that time. I'm aware that the microblading procedure can last up to a year; however, depending on your skin, you may need a touch up sooner than that time. In my case, I noticed major fading on my tail and in some other spots so I went in for another touch up on 12/2/16. Since I needed another touch up so soon, I requested Julie to use a darker ink and to make my strokes more dense in hopes of less fading. She did as I requested. I was charged $50 for that visit. According to Lash Moi's website, touch-ups prior to 3 months are $50, touch-ups after 3 months are $250, and after 6 months $350. Which brings me to the reason I am writing this review. First off, I will refrain from giving any type of praise in this post simply because I have observed when other customer who had negative experiences gave partial praise in their post it was used by the owner to delegitimize their negative experience. I had a very negative experience when I visited Lash Moi for another touch-up on 2/20/17. At the completion of my procedure I was shocked when I was told my fee was $350. I told the front desk that I was there prior to three months ago and was expecting to pay $50. I thought the lady at the front desk made a mistake. She proceeded to explain "our pricing is on our website and is based on your very first visit." I reluctantly paid, went to my car, looked at their website and it did not state that touch-up pricing was based on your first visit (as shown in the screenshot I captured and attached to this post), so I returned to the shop, showed the lady at the front desk the website and asked to speak with Julie. The lady at the front desk explained that Julie was with another client so she tried to see if Johnny was available, but he was on a phone call. I was then told she would have Julie call me. During my phone call with Julie I asked her to explain her pricing and I also made her aware that her website did not say "touch-up pricing was based on the initial microblading service." Julie tried to explain the pricing structure but it made no sense. She told me back when I visited on 12/2/16, she should have charged me $250 because I came four months after my initial service, but was only charged $50 as a courtesy. I told her that her pricing was unclear since her website was missing the words "touch-up pricing is based on the initial microblading service." She then explained that the $350 that I paid on 2/20/17 was for that visit, as well as, my four week follow-up for 3/20/2017. I asked Julie if I just got a touch up, why would I need another follow-up, did the process start over? She explained that the process did start over. At that point, I was pissed because she also explained that I may not need anything done in March so that left me feeling like "why am I being charged for services anticipated instead of just services rendered?!" Upon getting off of the phone with Julie, I told her that she needs to be more clear about her pricing on her website and note that microblading touch-up prices are based on your initial microblading service. I see she has since taken my advice by updating her website but it doesn't change the bad taste left in my mouth about this experience. I am really indifferent about this review. The salon was clean, everyone was courteous, and the technician -Veronica- was very fast and made my lashes look great. BUT, the technician used cheap @$$ lashes!!!! These lashes are hard and painful while laying flat at night and are making it hard for me to sleep. I have had faux mink before and they were much softer than these. I have purchased lashes on my own and the ones they use are extremely poor quality and the better quality trays are only a few dollars more and do not justify them charging upward $50, $100 more a set. I will be calling the salon to discuss to see if they have any explanation for this. Lash Moi has the fastest technician but the worst lashes I've ever had and are the most expensive. read more

WORST PLACE - EVER/DON'T GO HERE -- SCAM PRICING I had a very ugly experience at Lash Moi in Crofton. I simply needed a fill-in and not new lashes. Over the telephone, I was told the cost would be $50 to $80 based on how many additional lashes were required for the fill-in. My lashes were done elsewhere three weeks prior and were in pretty good shape. The place I went to previously did a very good job but they were too far. 1) A lady spoke with me quickly about the various types of lashes and showed me a book. Based on the conversation, I knew I was being sized up to see how much I had budgeted. 2) I was then taken to the back. The male aesthetician said that he only had an hour to do my lashes, which apparently was enough time. I was shocked. I, thus, laid on this table that had black linen. (I hate black anything at any cosmetology shop because black does not show dirt. I feel it is a way for them to hide dirt.The walls here are black as well.) My lashes were quickly examined. 3) The male aesthetician said I needed my lashes completely done over and the cost would be $200. I gasped because I knew my "recently done"'lashes were in good shape and did not required a lot. I said "no" and then an Asian lady came in and tried to scam me by saying she would give me $50 off if I got a fill-in, so the price would be $150. Yet, the cost for a new set was $200. I said, "no thank you" and left. On my way out, I explained to the ladies at the front desk what happened because they quoted me $50 to $$80 via telephone. They both were surprised at the price and began looking at the chart with the rates. The Asian lady came and was not willing to allow the front desk staff to confirm the quoted price of a fill-in. She specifically said, "don't use the price list for her, I told her the price already" and the front desk women looked shocked. At that point, I walked out. I knew I wasn't being offered the same rate as others and I could not figure out why everything was so unfair. I knew I was not being treated fairly. I felt something shady had taken place and the staff knew it, but they were not allowed to say anything. I would not recommend this place to anyone for that reason and several others. They state a low price to get you in and then they push you toward the most expensive lashes. If you want a fill-in, and your lashes were done by another store, they will tell you your lashes are not up to their standards. You are also told your own lashes are not healthy and they try to get you to buy a new set. If you are willing to get a fill-in, the Asian lady examines your lashes, and tells you she will take $50 off exists you have too many lashes missing, which was a lie in my case. They try to charge you the $150 to get a "fill-in" and that is ludicrous. The standard rate for a fill-in for strand-by-strand lashes is $50 to $80 ANYWHERE in the DMV. IMPORTANT: I had asked the male aesthetician how long he had been an eyelash cosmetologist. He said "one year" and I was shocked. Had I decided to get my eyelashes placed, I would not have used him. Plus, he was going to install a full set in one hour, had I agreed, and that is not possible. The place is not clean and each bay (that is separated by black curtains only) does not have a sink. Thus, I am not sure if they are cleaning their instruments after each use. I also am not sure of their sanitary conditions. If there is no sink in each bay, how clean are their hands which are touching the eyes and face? It's not worth the risk of getting an eye infection. Bad attitude of supervisors/managers; high prices; pricing scams; black everywhere equals hidden dirt atmosphere; aestheticians with one-year of experience or less (some), willingnees to crunch and perform a two-plus hour session in less than one hour; and unclean conditions equals me not ever going back! I would not be surprised if all of their cosmetologists are not licensed because I did not see anything on the walls of each curtain cubicle. read more

Lash Moi is a beautiful place when you walk in. I had permanent eyebrows done by Julie. The cost will knock you off your feet....$800. Then, when you go back for the touch up, it's another $50. Then I had to go back again and of course it was another $50. I have nicely shaped eyebrows but I still have to darken them daily for the look I want. After spending $900, I shouldn't have to do anything to my brows for a beautiful look..... not the case. Then I went back again and she touched them up and said I have prominent facial expressions that might cause the dye to pop out... wHAT? REALLY? Tattoos don't pop out of places that bend and move. Her suggestion was that I get Botox then come back to have them touched up again. smh read more

I had been here one time to get lashes done for a vacation to have a "makeup with no makeup look" lol and maya did my lashes. She was extremely professional as was the entire store. I was greeted right away and given a form to fill out (little medical info allergies sensitivities etc.) and was offered a drink while I waited. My lashes lasted an entire vacation in cancun through jet skiing, beaching, and sitting in the water at the pool bar all day. I wouldn't trust anywhere else to take care of me nor would I even know where to begin to recommend a better place. I got the permanent eyeliner done on top and bottom and love them. I personally want them thicker and darker, so after a year I made another appointment. The prices did increase, but that is expected in a growing economy, and though it was a sticker shock, I completely understand. I love my eyeliner and love the work Julie did to them. She was kind and informative and really takes the time with me to go over everything and to make sure I am happy. Her front desk staff are in need of a bit of training. When I got them done I missed the part that the initial touch up should be within 4-6 weeks. I thought I heard Julie say anytime after 6-weeks (my mistake) - I had to change my appointment due to a conflict and when I called and explained this to the receptionist, she let me change it and at that point I was 10-weeks out. Julie informed me when I arrived that I should have come sooner, but if that was the case, I wish her front desk staff would have reminded me, and I would have had no problem making the change to closer in to the original application of the eyeliner. The new front desk agent (male) is learning, but still has some things to learn. I called (now a year later to make another appointment for them to be darker and thicker for my own personal need) and I asked the guy to make an appointment for this and asked what the cost would be - I explained that it's been a year and I had them done with Julie and just wanted them darker and thicker. He told me that I HAD to come in for a 15-minute consultation and at that time Julie would provide pricing. So I got off work early and drove down rt. 3 at 5pm to make the 5:45pm appointment (anyone who travels rt. 3, at rush hour knows my pain in this!) just to have Julie look at my eyes and tell me to make an appointment for a 2-hour slot (this all happened in 10-minutes from signing in to meeting with Julie to setting up an appointment) . I was super upset that I had to leave work early and drive on rt. 3 for 45-minutes and then drive back home in another 45-minutes of traffic. That was the only sour part of the whole eyeliner experience, was I felt my time was wasted and that he could have just made my appointment for the touch-up and if he did not know the price, the professional thing to do would be to let me know he would check with Julie and call me back or have her call me back, working in the customer service business myself, I do not always know the answers, but this is what me and my staff do when they do not know an answer. I have been a customer for years!! I drive an hour from Gaithersburg to their salon, because of one simple reason... the quality and service that Lash Moi provides. I have been getting my Lash Extensions done by Lash Moi for 3+ years. No more mess of glue with strips, and the convenience of always having long and full lashes that last for weeks. I've done Betty Boops, Glamour, and just switched this year to Minks- Volume 1. Last year I decided to have my eye brows done with their permanent make up. Julie who actually does the Micro blading tattooing recommended it to me, and had me come in for a free consultation. She went over all the steps and process, and then we made an appointment to have it done. I'm so glad I decided to do the Micro Blading Tattooing! Not only did they numb it so you don't feel anything, but it's the best my brows have ever looked!! It saves you time with doing your brows, and going to the store for make up. The staff is great and so friendly! I am in love with Lash Moi! The lash extensions are so easy to manage and take care of. I tried the ItWorks Body Wraps that are available and saw a difference in only one wrap! Recently I got the permanent eyebrow tattoos that I am so happy with. Julie took her time with me to custom shape my new eyebrows that I normally color in everyday. It helped areas that were sparse and had hair missing which were enhanced with SofTap natural fill-ins of color that look like natural hair strokes. Permanent cosmetics are the best even for women who don't wear makeup everyday. Plus it looks very natural and saves a lot of time. There are so many amazing services at Lash Moi with convenient locations in Bowie and Crofton! Everyone is so friendly and I always enjoy visiting Lash Moi! read more

I am a little disappointed, I have been a customer for a few years now, and I guess have been spoiled with the courtesy reminder calls. Anyway long story short I got a phone call last week stating I had an appointment and I missed it basically and I explained I totally forgot and do not remember receiving a reminder I actually thought her call was the reminder well it is a $25 no show fee which is fine I messed up no problem so she rescheduled my appointment but then told me I had to pay the $25 first or no appointment. This was very disappointing for a few reasons: One I was driving when she called and couldn't pay, she didn't even give me the option to at least hold my appoint slot to give me time to call her back that day and secondly every time I go there I spend at least $100 or better. Thirdly I am not a new customer. I can't believe they would let a $25 fee cause them to lose a customer that spends hundreds. Mind you the matainence is at least $75 every couple of weeks but I normally wait and pay more. read more
