I was a bit disappointed initially because I came in for my first appointment and was sent home after spending an hour there for numbing. they informed me AFTER I was already numbed they I couldn't get filler if I saw the dentist within the past two weeks. I wish they asked me this before I was numbed. Aside from that, getting 1mL of lip filler went really well. I like that they did not do the entire syringe at once but rather in two sessions: 1 session I did 80% of my syringe, and came back in 4 weeks to do a touch up. Several yrs ago, I attempted to give Laser Away in Mountain View a try but I decided not due to the situation they caused. Several years fast forward they had a promotion and I wanted to give it a try. Had an appointment for December 2024 for a small area. I felt nothing for my treatment other than air blowing quick across my skin. I walked out of my appointment and checked with my car mirror under a good lighting. They missed several spots. To have spend that money and not taken care of, I just don't feel it was worth it. I wrote them a review regarding my appointment experience and it was ignored. They only came back with more sales to see if I would be interested to book my next session. On the same day after a few minutes of leaving my appointment, I was bombarded with same text messages asking me if I would like to book my next appointment. First of all .. I wasn't even offered solution to what I was actually asking for. I had a couple of scars and a couple of dark/pimple spots that I wanted for it to go away. I asked a million times if that was possible before I signed up. Olivia spoke to me on the phone for more than an hour convincing me and promising me that I am the perfect candidate for clear and brilliant. That all the scars would 100% go away. Making false promises and false marketing is not cool. Highly unprofessional really and reflects badly on such a reputed brand. Reputed brands don't go about making false promises behaving like aggressive aunties who exhibit hood like behavior to sell you MLM jewelry, Tupperware, Avon, Herbalife, Lula Roe or rope you into Amway. Believe me I've come across many such huns in my life. Had my fair share of them. I was made to sign up for 6 treatments. After the 5th treatment, my skin became WORSE. My face more tanned and pigmented. My scars even more prominent and deeper. Even more dark spots popped out on my face right after the 5th treatment. Instead of going for the 6th treatment they offered me two Hydro Facial instead for blackhead removal. Honestly speaking, it didn't remove ANY blackheads from my face especially my nose. The front desk and nurses were absolutely classy, sophisticated, knowledgeable, genuine and highly professional. Their treatment too was nothing short of a Spa Day. Milpitas Laser Away felt like a whole different world than the one at Palo Alto. Professionalism and service at Palo Alto being a class apart really. The front desk at Milpitas will really make you feel uncomfortable with their vibes. The only saving grace was their Laser Hair Removal package. That was the only thing that was actually effective, worth every penny and worked. Save yourself the trouble and the money and go to Laser Away, Milpitas, only for Hair Removal. For all other services, kindly head to a med spa. My skin looks so bad now. It was a much better before I started the treatment at Milpitas. TLDR: I was made to feel uncomfortable by the inhospitable desk staff for my Saturday, 10/26 11:15 AM appointment. Nurse X was the only good thing about my experience today. At all these locations, desk staff and nurses have been super congenial. Then there's Milpitas ... This morning, I came in on time for my 11:15 AM appointment, to no acknowledgment. I asked if I could check in and the receptionist made me feel like I was bothering her. After waiting nearly 15 minutes, I ask them how long the wait will be. Their only answer is that they're backed up. They're always backed up. I've come here 4 times, and every time, I've had to wait upwards of 30 minutes. No other location has made me wait like this. What is the point of having an appointment??? While I waited, I went to grab some coffee. The machine was out of water, so I ask one of the girls if they could refill it. Again, I'm made to feel like a nuisance. Just horrible mean girl crap. A few minutes later I get shown to my room, and Nurse X (pretty sure she said that was her name) came in with the greatest attitude. Laseraway nurses are always SO nice. I found this location very convenient for scheduling and happily close to home. It is located across the great mall and located next to Trader Joe's and the apartment complexes. With all laser away locations, I get greeted and helped quickly. They are strict for arrivals so don't come late as they will make you reschedule (which can be many weeks away if there no slots). You can cancel in advance without charge but up to 24 hrs before appointment. Came here for laser hair removal services. Met with different nurses. They were all kind and professional. They ask me how I felt with the results so far. Some gave me ice to numb areas that are more painful to me. They offer steroid / aloe Vera cream/ gel after for comfort as needed. I tell them to avoid my tattooed ombré brows and they sometime cover it up while Lasering. My sessions are only 15 mins to do Small areas like face and pits. It's great that it doesn't take long for me. If doing legs that would be considered a large area and can take much longer. Sessions get booked every 4-6 weeks depends on area I had really good results for my armpit hair removal. I used to have thick dark hair that would grow out fast every few days. I have light Asian skin so it happens to work well for lasering. It would be embarrassing and required frequent up keeping with shaving and epilating that I got tired of it. Now my hair is like 90% gone. I don't even shave really. If there's any here it's super thin now. TMI but I do kinda notice /can smell my BO more without the hair lol. I had a total of 8 sessions Now for the face, I wanted to get rid of my upper lip hair. I would say only 50-60% reduction by the end of my 10 sessions and thought I would have more gone. I still see hairs growing but it's thinner ( a big plus at least) and still need to shave/ micro plane off though. TBH a bit disappointed with results. Maybe my expectations were too high because the armpits had better results. They did say to me that facial hairs are more stubborn and you can't expect 100% hair to be eliminated. At this time, I am not inclined to do more facial services because it's pricey and not sure if another 1-2 session would make much of a difference (plus not sure if they will work around my lip blush). Tips If you're new to laser hair removal, make sure you understand the before and after care. First time I went I wasn't given the instructions to not pluck nor epilate them armpits for at least a few weeks/ month. You basically need hair root present for the laser to target. Also you need to plan around or avoid direct sunlight / sweating activities right before/ after laser. Also don't do a lip blush tattoo because they won't work within 1 inch of any tattoo ink so I had to wait until I finished all Laser sessions on face to finally get my lip blush In general I do want to comment that I dislike how LaserAway does not transparently show their prices for their services. They want a rep to call you and tell you the prices and then they'll tell you that they have a special deal or offer for you if you do a package. They say the more you add on the better the savings. I think it's annoying/ shady practice and you may find other laser places prices are much cheaper. However I chose LaserAway at the time because I saw good reviews online and noticed that it was a popular and reliable chain (and a friend said she went and has good experience with the brand). I believe i get grand fathered pricing for optional maintenance "package" for once a year or so lasering. I know it's their job to try to sell more services and packages. I would give the Milpitas location a zero star if I could. I had my appointment at 5.30pm today (Tuesday, they close at 6pm, they usually close at 7/8pm). I've previously had them cancel on me for being 6-7 minutes late. The receptionist desk had two assistants Nadia and Nicole, who checked me in and made me wait 26 minutes to tell me that they're behind and could not accommodate me and to get me rescheduled. I insisted on having the appointment done so after some back forth they took me in. The nurse (Jasmine) took me and got me setup. She said she was using the same setting as always and started my treatment. She tested out 3 different settings on my right hand and it was too high so told me she was reducing the treatment settings, the first 3 attempts hurt a lot and left burn marks and she said it was nothing and would go away. 4th attempt at a reduced setting she continued through the rest of the Arm and I insisted the pain was getting worse. She then reduced it to a setting that felt as normal as always and continued till she finished the rest of the treatment (this session was for both full arms). Towards the end of treatment few minutes later, my right arm was hurting terribly and I was queasy. The nurse then accepted the marks were actual burns and proceeded to put aloe and lotion on it. The nurse agreed I need to visit a doctor but they couldn't take me. I was not okay to drive. As I walked out there was only Nicole at the front desk who visibly looked amused. They were closing at 6pm, it was around 6.20pm at the time they asked me to leave, see a doctor if needed and that my next appointment could be scheduled later. The nurse escorted me back to my car. I called the LaserAway number online 888-264-1525 and requested medical assistance and help to file a complaint. This was as I waited in the car for my husband to come take me to the doctor as I typed this message using my left hand. The person at the end of this line said, my director will call you back and disconnected. 45 minutes later, no call back from LaserAway. This is the worst experience I've ever had. No one came to check up on me or give me any updates, lack of communication. If there were delays I would've been okay if they let me know what was going on. It is known that laser hair removal works differently for each person. I am glad to say that I have been experiencing great results and there is no more ingrown hair. I purchased a package during Black Friday and received a discount. Priori to that I used to wax my body and at some point it stopped working the way it used to. When I calculated how much I spent on waxing my entire body in the span of one year compared to how much I spent on laser treatment for full body, I realized that laser hair removal isn't as expensive as we all hear. The difference is the payment for laser treatment is often paid upfront. LaserAway also offers payment plan. After messing with the machine some more, I felt the laser slightly more, but nothing like Santana row. I won't speak to the outcomes of their services, since everyone's skin is different, but from a business perspective, be very careful engaging with LaserAway. I find them to be unethical and uncooperative. They do not put patients and clients first. They recommended and approved me for IPL, so I purchased a package of six treatments. First one went great. But when I went to my second appointment, I was told their policy changed and my skin type no longer qualified. That's fine-- I can respect prioritizing people's health. But the issue here is that they said they have a "no refund policy," and would not issue me a refund for the remaining balance. I called and emailed four times to speak with someone, and was told that someone would call back or reach out. Never happened. I've been disputing the charge through my credit card company. LaserAway finally came to the table with a counterclaim that I received partial treatment and therefore am entitled to a partial refund. But I paid $1899 for six treatments. $1899 divided by six treatments is $316.50 per treatment. Their counterclaim states that they rendered $449 worth of services by giving me one treatment. How does that make any sense? LaserAway is trying to change history by charging a la carte pricing and giving me less of a refund than I'm owed. It's THEIR policy that they changed that disqualified me from receiving the remaining treatments, so any discounts I received for purchasing a package of six treatments should be reflected. It's been a long drawn out process, and I'm not interested in more paperwork. So this Yelp review is just to help future and current clients protect themselves. Good luck, folks. Now just because you have the art of speaking sweetly does not mean that you compromise on the quality of service given to your clients. The girl at the front desk told me that she didn't haven't me scheduled for today. I showed her the text message confirmation and she said she was sorry but there was nothing she could do about it. Great experience. Of course I went in a bit nervous cause it was my first time getting laser hair removal service and my pain tolerance is weak. The ladies at the front desk were really friendly and the nurse who did my treatment (Sorah(?)) was really nice as well. Before the treatment started, I was told there should be minimal to no pain except towards the middle area (underarms). The warning was spot on.. definitely felt it in the middle of the underarm. It wasn't too bad.. just a few moments of discomfort. I was given aloe vera to apply myself when the treatment was done. After leaving, I did feel some mild discomfort for about 5-10 minutes or so but it went away. The laser treatment itself took less than 5 minutes. This facility has only been open for about 3 weeks and it is so new and clean. Love! Will be back every 6 weeks as recommended until my treatment is done! The front staff has been really rude lately. I requested a nurse and the front desk continues to put me with someone else. When I call in advance and ask the next time she will be in they won't tell me. When I signed up with Laser Away they said I can request my nurse as I don't like a different person every time.
