We prepaid for fillers multiple times because they kept telling us it would "lock in the price" and ensure she could get the treatments she wanted. But every time she went in, they claimed she had already "used everything up." That is absolutely not true, and it became clear they were trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible with no integrity or accountability. When we asked questions and tried to get clarity, they were evasive and dismissive. It felt like they were lying to our faces. After doing more research, we discovered this is a common tactic they've used on other clients too. Just look at all the 1-star reviews - our story is NOT unique. The owner, Sara, is incredibly unprofessional and dishonest. She should not be running a business, especially one involving medical procedures. To make matters worse, we later learned they are currently being investigated for not having the proper licenses to operate. That is terrifying considering they are injecting people's faces! From my very first prp eye facial at Luce Aesthetics, I was hooked. Now, on my third session, my anticipation for the results grows with each visit. The standout has undoubtedly been the incredible staff, particularly the amazing girl who meticulously cares for my skin. Don't go there! I am so regret to get the PRP Micro-needling there. Here are the reasons: 1) When we started the micro- needling after numbing, she only took about 10 mins working on it today. Maybe it's even less 10 mins. It's done!You can see the photos of my left face right after it's done. Almost nothing happened. The right face she did a little bit more work on it, but not that much. It's too quick. It costs $450! Not worth it! 2) And, when she draw my blood, my blood spilled out. Not really professional. I asked her about PRP injection. She said she couldn't do it. Only the nurse can do that. I am not sure whether she is a nurse or not,but she drew my blood?! 3) Most importantly, she only put PRP on the face at the beginning and at the end. However, my friend just told me, it's better to separate the area since the PRP dry so fast. It should be added more times when each area is done. OMG! It's such a waste for my blood! And, it cost much more than normal micro-needling. 4) Plus, she did not clean my face when we started the process. She said she would put the numbing cream on my face anyway, she can clean the face when she remove the numbing cream later on. My friend who had more experience was so surprised. It was a big mistake. The face has germs. This procedure must be done under a very clean face! It's abnormal putting the numbing cream before cleaning the face. 5) I saw their deal on Groupon for $450. So, I called them and asked some questions. They told me I could pay them directly since they needed to pay Groupon money. I did. I just paid the full amount $450. However, I found Groupon has 25% deal later on. I called them again. They said they couldn't match the price since I have paid them. They saved the money, while I lost the deal with my good heart to pay them directly! I should have purchased from Groupon. They can match the deal normally. I am really upset for the experience there. Micro-needling is suffering. And, I feel that I paid the money without getting the satisfying service. I purchase a IPS on Groupon and called to schedule an appointment. I had to leave a message but I did get a call back. The called and confirmed my appointment the day before but then the following day called to ask if they could push me out an hour. I arrived at the new time to have Sarah say to me that the person who would be doing my procedure was still sick and need to reschedule me. It didn't hit me at the time that I almost had work done on my face with a sick person breathing on me. Not something I would want. She said she had to reschedule me out 3 weeks but that someone would call to try and get me in earlier. No phone call. No confirmation call the day before. I called them and got there answering service 3 time and finally received a call back, just to be told my appointment was out another week. When I reminder for of my initial appointment she remembered me. I asked to just have my Groupon refunded. She said she would take care of that and I would get an email. That was on a Friday. By Tuesday I was calling, no response, Wednesday no replace, Thursday no response. Friday I contacted Groupon and immediately rec'd my money back. I should have read the reviews better then I did. I bought a package for IPL laser and on the second treatment I was burnt on my forehead. I texted the girl that did my laser and she told me i was in fact "burnt" from the laser. When i got the treatment done she informed me she would avoid my psoriasis spot so the laser doesn't irritate it. That wasn't avoided and my forehead felt like i got my skin burnt off it was so painful and swollen. I had a lip filler appointment that same week and it has now been 3 weeks and my lips are uneven and lumpy. I texted her and she has not responded for a few days now. So i guess my only option is to write a Yelp. I never write reviews but i feel like i should warn others about places like this so they don't come in expecting their filler or laser to look great and end up being botched. The owner deleted my negative experience about this MedSpa from a few years ago. Here you go... "On Tuesday, December 22, I arrived at LUXE MEDICA in San Jose. I was checked in by Sara Sophia Rivas. I explicitly communicated to my nurse how I've noticed my lip's right side appeared to have less volume and perhaps metabolized slightly quicker; resulting in slightly less volume than my lip's left side. I understand we're all asymmetrical so it's natural for it to happen to me. That said, I ask my nurse to add more in the right side's Red Lip, G to K points. She confirmed she understood my specifics directions. I commented I don't think my lip's lower right side looked balanced with the lower left side. She then tells me she injected the exact amount to both lowers. I didn't understand why she did considering how I've repeatedly pointed out how my right lower had less volume than its left counterpart. My nurse told me my lips look good and said to return in 2-3 weeks if I still thought my right needed extra. I reminded her I live in San Francisco and asked her to use the remaining for my right lower lip. That's when she tells me there's nothing left. The syringe was done. I was shocked my nurse didn't even ask me if I wanted the remaining amount to go to any particular lip area. I pointed out that my lips looked uneven/imbalanced. Then my nurse stepped out of the room for about five minutes. She and Sara went into a dark, closet-like room and spoke discreetly. My nurse returned to the room with a new syringe and told me she's going to add just a bit to my lower right. She then decided she wanted to try the same to my upper right. I stepped out of the room and Sara asked me to give her my Groupon voucher number again; AND, that I owe a balance of $700. She told me since I wasn't happy, my nurse had to open a new syringe, it doesn't matter how little she used; once opened, you're responsible for paying for the entirety. I felt so blindsided, robbed, misled, and taken advantage by Sarah and pressured to pay for what I didn't expect. I found Luxe Medica through Groupon and already paid Groupon for Luxe's service and product. If the nurse would have performed according to my personal specifications INSTEAD of injecting half-and-half, there wouldn't have been a second syringe/$700 bill. Her oversight AND lack of communication forced me to uncomfortably cough up an additional $700. Why didn't my nurse and/or Sarah Rivas inform me after their discreet closet conversation? Did professional patient courtesy cross their minds to ask me first, then allow me to decide if I wanted to proceed and pay an extra $700? I felt terribly uncomfortable and hurt. Sara kindly reminded to pay $700; I obliged grudgingly, then I asked Sara for the owners' names and contact information as I felt it's valuable to share my experience with them. I cannot express how happy I am with the results I'm seeing after my laser hair removal treatments. I was nervous because I received laser treatments on my neck and it was super painful and I dreaded going to the last office I went to. I actually really enjoy coming here! Sara and team were very comforting from the start and I felt relaxed going into my first session. I have gone in 5 times now for my chest and stomach, I'm almost completely hairless in these areas of my body. Each person is different but my hair is very dark, thick, and coarse. Here are some things that really stood out to me: *The machine they use is much more effective and less painful for me than the first office I went to. I honestly didn't feel any pain and I was already seeing good results after my first session. *They were able to find time that suited my schedule which was much appreciated. I had really bad experience with my tattoo removal service by luxe medica. She was late for my 1st appointment. For my second appointment, she didn't do much on the tattoo removal. The result was same as 1st appt. She told me that if I want better result, I have buy coupon(6time coupon) from her shop personally not from Groupon. For the 3rd appt, she cancelled the appt last minute and I have to rescheduled it to today. I went in today and no one was at the shop. I waited about 40 mins and no one showed up. I called the shop as well and no one picked up the call. I now have to find another place for tattoo removal due to this experience. read more

March 17 2023 update. After standing me up, the spa manager Sara got in touch with me to understand my pain issues, which she claims to have related to their MD. I never got to meet or get examined by their MD as promised, even by Zoom. The manager talked to their MD about my symptoms and told me that the MD recommended they place more threads to try to fix the issue, so she convinced me to come back in and let them try to fix it. I came back in to try to let them fix it, but the RN refused to place threads in the area because she was scared to make the problem worse. She did put some threads in another part of my face, which was kind of scary since she did it freehand without mapping with a marker first for symmetry. As far as I can tell, there is no medical supervision. I have never seen or heard from their MD. They don't seem to care about following what their MD tells them to do. I have received IPL, RSURFX, laser hair, and other services from this med spa. My results were great and very pleased. My Botox lasted long. My skin looks smooth and very youthful. The staff was very professional, educational and nice during/after my procedures. They do more than that hair restoration, O shot pshot, PRP therapy, micro-needling and etc.. I found a Groupon for them and called and was told if I could pay for the sessions and cancel my Groupon for the same price. I started my services (laser hair removal). I noticed in my 2nd visit, no one was at the office when i arrived, no one answered the phone number I was provided and the text I sent bounced back. After about 20 minutes, someone strolled through; no apologies for being late. I had 2 more sessions and found myself still shaving in between and not really seeing any major results. I had an appointment scheduled for early July that I needed to cancel. That's appointment was then only one I received a reminder about, by the way Again, I called, and left multiple voicemails , responded (or attempted to respond) to the email that was sent. first time visiting this office - I saw Christine. let me just say I am so happy my treatment was with her. Christine was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. communicating through text messaging was definitely a PLUS for me. I have a 6 month old baby so my go to is definitely TEXT. Christine filled my Nadolabial and lips OMGOSH! Love love love in love with the mild filler I got. I don't want to be extreme with fillers, more of a preventative thing for me. Scammers like this should not be in business. What they're doing is illegal. Beware. I purchased a package worth $1,750 in the beginning of 2020. I received 1 of 4 services before business shut down due to the COVID-19 lock down. I continued to reach out throughout the pandemic and was understanding but started to worry when they didn't open as other businesses reopened. I finally got in touch with Sara Rivas a few weeks ago and after cutting me off as I tried to explain and hanging up on me twice she told me she would sell me a service for 50% off. Why would I give you more money? If anyone else had the same issue please leave a review. I'm giving her two more weeks to provide a refund. Terrible customer service. I'm giving two stars for the front desk gal, Farrah. She was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. My appointment with Dr. Manios however, was uncomfortable and disappointing. He was rude, condescending, arrogant and unprofessional. I could probably handle all that if he did a good job with my Botox injections, but he didn't. I was left with a bruise and I didn't see much of a difference from the injections. I would've probably gone in to have additional units administered to correct it but I couldn't bring myself to go back in and endure another uncomfortable appointment with Dr. Manios. Sara and Sandra are the best! Sandra, the aesthetician there has been taking care of my skin for years now. She waxes, does facials, chemical peels etc. She put me on a skincare routine that has improved my skin's hyperpigmentation dramatically. Had my upper lip filled for the first time with Sara last Tuesday & the experience was great! Sara was really informative & nice! I still have another week of the swelling to go down but I'm looking forward to get them topped off next week! The office is cute & the other ladies there were super nice as well! The only thing I'll probably ask to do next time is numb my lips a bit longer. Sara did inform me that the lips do hurt but at the end & after talking to a few friends that get their lips done, I feel I could have had the numbing cream on a bit longer. Next time I'll ask to be number for like 15-20 min instead of 5-10min. At the end of the day I was really happy with my results/experience & would def recommend this place! I'll also post before & afters pictures once my swelling goes down from my 2nd round. Update! 4/9/19 So I went back to Sara for my touch up after 2 weeks & I'm very happy with my results but I will go back one more time in the next few weeks to try another half of syringe or less to get it were I really want it. This was probably the best spot that I have been in NorCal. The staff was very friendly and the doctor that suggested the type of lip plum that I wanted was great. He use a different type that I've never used before but I really liked how my lips turned out. It is very natural looking and not overly done. I definitely would suggest this place as it's also very close to my house in the Willow Glen area. They are also running monthly specials that you can always keep an eye out for. read more

Please be cautious about prepaying for services provided by this company. I was referred to Sara Rivas by my doctor who was renting a hot sculpting machine to her. I visited the office the end of April 2019 and prepaid over $1,200 for the service to be provided the following Tuesday. Over the following month the machine was still not made available and when I finally requested a refund from Luxe was not able to get it. Fortunately I reached out to my original doctor who did the procedure for me and he received this deposit reimbursement from Luxe. read more
